For those who are asking for the lyrics, here you go: Senn váru Æsir Allir á þingi Ok Ásynjur Allar á máli Ok um þat réðu Ríkir tívar Hví væri Baldri Ballir draumar. Upp reis Óðinn Alda Gautr Ok hann á Sleipni Söðul of lagði. Reið hann niðr þaðan Niflheljar til Mætti hann hvelpi Þeim er ór Helju kom. Sá var blóðugr Um brjóst framan Ok galdrs föður Gól of lengi Fram reið Óðinn Foldvegr dunði Hann kom at hávu Heljar ranni. Þá reið Óðinn Fyrir austan dyrr Þar er hann vissi Völu leiði Nam hann vittugri Valgaldr kveða Unz nauðig reis Nás orð of kvað: "Hvat er manna þat Mér ókunnra Er mér hefir aukit Erfitt sinni? Var ek snivin snævi Ok slegin regni Ok drifin döggu Dauð var ek lengi." “Vegtamr ek heiti Sonr em ek Valtams Segðu mér ór helju Ek mun ór heimi Hveim eru bekkir Baugum sánir Flet fagrlig Flóuð gulli?" "Hér stendr Baldri Of brugginn mjöðr Skírar veigar Liggr skjöldr yfir En ásmegir Í ofvæni Nauðug sagðak Nú mun ek þegja.”
Yeah, but you left out the fact that most people don't speak/read Old Norse. Luckily, I have an understanding. This is from stanzas 1-7 of Vegtamskviða, y'all want some of Odin practicing necromancy? Here ya go: Once were the Æsir All in assembly, And the Ásynjur All in meeting, And concerning this The mighty gods assembled Why were Baldr having Baleful dreams. Up rose Óðinn The Aged Father And he on Slepnir Laid the saddle He rode down there Till Nether Hel He met a whelp That came out of Hel. It was bloody In front on his chest And the Father of Chants, Growled from afar, Forward rode Óðinn Earthly-ways resounded. He came to the highest Above of Hel. Then Óðinn rode For the eastern door, There he knew of a Seeress’ Burial Mound, He knew enchants so He recited the chosen chant Until unwilling she rose Still dead she recited these words: "What man is that Unknown to me That has brought back my Burdensome life? I have been covered with snow And strained with rain, And drenched with dew Long was I dead." "My name is Way-tamer I am the son of Corpse-tamer, Tell me words of Hel And I will tell you words of the home-world Whom are the benches Strewn with rings The floor fully Flowed in gold?" "Here stands for Baldr The brewed mead, Of the fresh brew, A shield lies over, But the Might of the Æsir Is suspense Forcefully I spoke, Now I will be quiet”
They saw unity's beauty after 6 years, so give Valhalla some time and we will see how suddenly everyone liked this game when it came out, in a couple years.
I love everything about the game and have been playing since it’s release from the graphics to whatever else I think it was amazing and personally I loved the longevity of it. So sad that it’s come to an end
@@clem7814 I still haven't finished it and I never even touched the dlcs. But I am working towards it in my free time. I am back on AC Unity right now. But I am so excited to dive back into Syndicate, Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla and finally...Mirage! Personally I am happy that Valhalla has so many dlcs. There is so much to explore. I think that one day more people will truly see what this game had to offer. I admire the devs for continuing to build their art/world despite the fact that many people never even gave the game a fair chance. The parts of the story I did experience left me stunned and wanting more. The world is beautiful. The Soundtrack is probably the best soundtrack I have ever experienced in any game. Idk what it is...this game just ticked every single box for me. I cannot wait to finish up with Unity and play this again. I already know what order I wanna do the dlcs and when I wanna start them. That's how excited I am haha.
@@thenovicewhisperssame here I have come across no other game that has given me the same experience Ubisoft outdid themselves on this game in my opinion of course
Started playing this a few days ago over 50 hours in and after the battle at the castle I've just had to pause the game to find this theme, damn it's amazing! True siege music right here. 😎💜
Everybody's talking about the song or how much they disliked the game, but I read the description and apparently you took these photos yourself? They are really, really good, and I feel that not enough people are giving you credit for that. Thank you for sharing them with us.
@Merciless Freak Not at all. Ivarr didn’t kill him at all. Ivarr lied to get Eivor to fight him. There’s several clues given throughout the mission and the fight, as well as their conversation beforehand. Ivarr wanted to fight Eivor, so that he could either be the greatest Vikingr, or die and enter Valhalla. Eivor refused to fight him, so Ivarr acted in desperation in order to make Eivor fight; he lied and took credit for Ceolburt’s murder.
@Merciless Freak One, Chill. There’s no reason to be so standoffish about a video game, my friend. Two, Yes I’m aware of all of that. Three, those aren’t clues, the game literally tells you all of that. But during the fight and the conversation before, Ivarr contradicts himself multiple times on how exactly Ceolbert died. Also, Ivarr is a devout in his believe of Asatru. He wants to enter Valhalla. Murder doesn’t get you into Valhalla, but dying in battle does. Ceolbert didn’t seem angry at him as he was dying, he called out to him even. Ivarr’s reaction wasn’t an “overreaction” if you’d paid attention to the fact that he was genuinely getting along with Ceolbert much more as they spent more time with each other. Also, remember Ivarr scrambling to get Ceolbert an axe as he lay dying? He wanted Ceolbert to enter Valhalla. If that was the case, he would’ve left an axe in his hand in the cave where he stabbed him…. Unless it wasn’t Ivarr that stabbed him. Also, remember how he spoke to Eivor during the fight. “I’ll make you scream like Ceolbert screamed!” It was just spoken about how Ceolbert didn’t scream at all when he was attacked. Another indicator he’s lying. Also, he brings up Eivor’s father. Why? To piss Eivor off. It’s extremely clear he’ll say ANYTHING to get Eivor to fight him.. including “I killed Ceolbert.” He also swore by his honor that Ceolbert would be fine. Breaking a vow like that won’t get you into Valhalla. He knew that, and he intended to keep Ceolbert safe. Also, again, it’s pure speculation that Ivarr left the camp to find Ceolbert. Everyone says they saw him leave alone. He wanted to be killed by a warrior he knew was worthy and sent to Valhalla, so he lied to Eivor to achieve that. If you took half of what the game gave you at face value instead of paying close attention to a plethora of context clues and contradictions, then it might perhaps be easy to miss how muddy the truth truly was in that situation. However, that Ivarr killed Ceolbert is absolutely NOT set in stone. It’s meant to be ambiguous and unclear.
@@XXXTENTAClON227 It’s not “clear” that’s the reason he was doing that at all. The whole thing was meant to be ambiguous and the ambiguousness of him saying his name is part of that. It’s why that part of the game has been one of my favorites so far. We really don’t know. We can only guess.
I didn't like Valhalla much but there was a few moments in that game where you truly feel the immersion, one of them is synchronizing in Norway to the "out of the north" track and better yet going berserker in the midst of a castle assault with this track playing in the background!
‘Up rose Odin, the old enchanter. He put on Sleipnnir’s saddle.’ Something so badass about a god that needs to do human things like saddling his horse.
The old Gods of Europa embody the best and worst of parts of us. Odin was our first great chieftain, and the words of the High One are something we all ought hold close to us. Europa forever!
Ivarr fucking deserved Valhalla, the dude is a king killer, a Berserkr and a goddamn legend, he killed a kid ? Man fuck this kid then I mean, Odin did worse lmao
so, I played axe and shield in this game. Did that basically the whole game... I had my raven shield and my father's axe... But then this fight, the shield just didn't feel right. I felt the rage that my character would feel, after losing -spoiler- and seeing ---- arrogantly standing on top of this castle..... I knew a shield would only slow me down. Slow down my rage, my revenge, and justice for -spoiler-. I couldn't use my shield for this fight. I wanted justice to be swift, and so I rampaged through this castle. This song coursed through my veins and was my heartbeat with every vicious strike against this so called leader and the terrible thing he did.
I must say. The only thing I don't want to play Valhalla is how BIG this game is. I didn't managed to complete Origins to 100% because of how much there is to clear. Didn't even wanted to try DLC, just ended main story and go away on high note. But I loved Origins, don't be mistaken. And probably I would love Valhalla, but damn how big these games are. I just know I'll drop it at some point.
First time I heard this was *SPOILERS!* When Ceolbert got murdered and all his allies wanted to avenge him, they all seemed boiling with anger and desire for vengeance, during the siege of the fortress of the enemy boss this song kicked in.. it was epic.. Like a final, life or death battle, while fire is raging on, people dying left and right, archers shooting volleys at us from the wall, Eivor carving up a way for his men to rush through,.. epic.. 1:32
Good mission but I didnt like killing my people the britons lol they were the soldiers that wore green and had green and white shields with a dragon on them if you listen to their conversations too you can hear them speaking welsh 🏴 king rhodri of wales he was known for pushing back the saxons (english) invaders from Germany
I don't like the whole viking era, since I consider them baaad people, invaders, conquerors, who pillaged raped and killed, but dammit does it feel fucking great storming a castle going crazy killing soldiers while this song plays
