I just took delivery of my MALM and watched this video, but... for the top piece, there's a massive dent right in the middle of the top-front section, where someone's been very clumsy either in the warehouse or in transit, so it's going to go back. What a disappointment 😥
the construction of this thing is a pain in the ass no matter what they tell you. I hated every single minute of it and 2-3% of the pieces you desperately need to assembly where missing like the corner pieces of metal you need in step 2. its a fucking shame IKEA is known to use prisoners to put their shit together and put the screws in the packages. I think its a shameful company. regret buying their shit.
@@UltimateDIY I dont need to make stuff up because I dont make any money with it. Infact, regarding the MALM, there are 3 bags with screws, and in Bag 1 all 4 metal hinges you need at step 2 or so were missing. I had to pull the receipt from my mails and drive to ikea and they gave me the missing parts for free. still, thats not how I want to spend my day.
You started the story stuff, not me. If you look at my videos you will see I praise what deserves praising and bash on what deserves bashing. Nobody wants to spend the day like that, but your experience seems to differ a lot from mine. On the other hand, where are you located? Could be a completely different quality control in different parts of the world. For me, I furnished a whole house with Ikea products and I did not have to buy a single screw. Only problem I had were damaged packages, by shipping company and Ikea replaced everything for free without hesitation.
