No probs, it's a good info. Despite that I've been using the ultimate for ages, I tend to forget to mention that this is the version to get and I've recommended it for an ample of folks. Thanks for the reminder!
Assetto Corsa is easily one of the best deals in gaming in terms of the price to value ratio, and that is true EVEN WITHOUT a discount. I can also attest to it being fun on controller as that is what I've started out with.
Agree, I'm also playing it with the controller and I'm having a lot of fun, it's not the most precise option but at 90-92% AI is challenging and fun enough to enjoy it for a lot of hours.
I play it with the Xbox 360 Wireless Speed Wheel (wireless receiver required), you can still find it at a good price, works well and it only takes a bit more space in a drawer than a game pad.
I had some issues with AC, having bought the launch edition 10 years ago. I wanted to buy the ultimate edition recently, to get everything, but that wasn't possible as I already had part of the game. It was much cheaper to get the Ultimate edition rather than all DLC separately. I tried to remove AC from my library, so I could get the Ultimate edition, but that didn't work. In the end, I think I had to get all the DLC's separately. Bit odd how Steam works.
It's set up this way to punish sim-racers that don't pay the full kunos tax in the first place. It's said only buy going to Rome and doing 20 laps of the Colosseum Chanting "Stefano Casillo Stefano Casillo Stefano Casillo " And then going over 50mph in a catamaran does Steam allow you to buy ultimate edition. - Hope that helps
For me honestly, getting a 2 euro version isn't bad at all... several reasons to it: 1st I am only getting into this and i'm not sure will i like it or not. Second i dont have a wheel yet. Third, i dont even like all those dlc's, not interested in certain car brands. So if i get interested in the coming time, i will slowly invest more into it and buy a few dlc's in the coming years. Plus there are so many mods for both cars and tracks that i don't really need their stuff.
Same applies for Automobilista 1 and Race 07. Always buy the bundle/edition with all the DLCs included from the start during a Steam sale. It's always the best and cheapest option.
Race 07. Now there's a name I haven't heard in a long time. That said, Raceroom has all their content on sale occasionally for about the price of a full game, so watch out for those. Raceroom doesn't get enough love, imo.
I drove R07 before AC came out for quite a lot. It was fun with a conroller but for some reason I don't know it doesn't seem to support my FFB wheel, it feels pretty weird. Anyway, I still drive relics that work with it, like GT2 or GT Legends. If you don't mind the aged GFX, they still have a lot to offer I think.
@@captainunderpants200 I've tried some free content like the BMW Judd V8 on that hillclimb on RR and didn't get along too well with the physics model, it gave me the feeling that the tires were almost glued to the asphalt in a weird way, I don't know, should try other cars ans tracks but for now I tend to prefer AC's and Simbin's physics model.
@@WackorMiki I agree, I'm still having a lot of fun with GTR2 and Gt Legends, the physics model has something special that's not easy to explain for a non technical guy like me. It's still extremely good even after more than 20 years.
Great video for people getting Assetto Corsa today. I have had Assetto Corsa for a long time and the game evolved over time for me. Definitely get Content Manager and make life much easer. Will Assetto Corsa 1 go away on STEAM when Assetto Corsa 2 comes out, we shall see. Great information. Take care.
I almost fell and bought the basic version but at the end got the Ultimate Edition in Steam for 16,24€, the DLC, just the game like that without mods is incredible. I also recommend to make a small donation and get the complete version of the Content Manager, it's worth it.
Strange because recently I had a similar experience for another game, where I had the base game but there was a special edition or discount where it was included game and all DLC, maybe it was AMS2 or AMS1 and I wanted to get all the DLC and already had the game, and steam actually discounted the price of the game out of that bundle so in the end it was actually cheaper. But with AC the amount of content is so huge and so good that I bough ultimate edition and it was actually my first sim racing game ever bought.
hi im glad i came across this video before picking assetto corsa up, i had a few doubts, do i really need to buy the ultimate edition if all i wanna do is just get some visual mods into the game, make it look pretty and drive alone on like those open world maps that ive seen videos about, im not really into racing all that much and i just wanted a game to replace gta 5 as my go to driving for peace game
I got AC Ultimate in a Humble Bundle along with ACC, NASCAR Heat, rFactor, and a few others for $13. I've seen the Ultimate pack on sale for as little as $7.
So I don't know a lot about these games but I know people have been saying they're pretty good. Should I get Asetto Corsa or Asetto Corsa Competizione?
who needs the ultimate edition when we have content manager. Most servers on content manager use RSS cars anyways which are much better then the Stock DLC cars imo
I bought it two days ago. About 15 min too early for this vid. I'm not a huge sim racer. ATS mostly. I like arcade racers. I can stay on the road with those.
Does the ultimate edition disappear after you buy the standard version? I'm pretty sure I got the ultimate edition when it was on sale last year even though I already had the base game plus 2 or 3 DLC's and it just took off the items I already had which reduced the price to like £8... Worked out I paid the exact same had I just gone with the ultimate edition. So if you accidentally bought the standard base game you might be able to still get all the DLC's for £10 if you just add the ultimate edition. I might be completely wrong though lol
I spent a lot on this title back in the day and still drive it daily, its fantastic, best driving game I ever played & support the modders, I even bought ACC full price on Steam even though I've no interest in it, just to support Kunos. However, since I've really got no interest in video games in general aside from a couple of simulators I'm *considering* running an 'arrr me hearties' copy of Assetto in future just to get rid of Steam since they ditched the mini-version last year and forces me to run multiple 'webhelper' processes which are no help to me, wish Kunos would offer a steam-free version of this title.
I cant see why you can't update later to ultimate edition? I bought the base game and played for one month, then buy the ultimate edition one month later at the next steam sale. And that upgrade successfully.
but sensei..we are all here for the SHUTOKU REVIVAL PROJECT and the patreon rabbit holes to slap rain, gopro filters, neck mods, windshield reflections, flying newspapers, bosuzoku anime liveries. 2 quid is all we have for AC
Just bought it via the Steam sale... Gotta say, I'm pretty terrible at it but I partly blame the game pad. I wonder if wheel manufacturers paid Steam to put AC on sale 🤣
Tip: never buy a Moza product. RMA service is very poor, and Hardware experts also let you down for months. I have had my R5 set with brake lite kit in transit for over 2 months. Picked up last week so it was not repaired and therefore hopelessly unable to sim yet. So back to the HE in Lelystad, the Netherlands and they would urgently arrange a new brake pedal (because it was/is still broken) from Rseat Germany, now more than a week later and still no pedal from their intermediary/importer/wholesaler Rseat Germany who was supposed to have it delivered urgently via DHL, well they have not been able to deliver it after more than a week. So my advice is not to buy anything from Moza, nor from/via Rseat and certainly not from Hardware Experts.
The only reason you buy the $2 is to mod the game and you don't care about the base game itself. Buy the sale and buy the Japanese DLC and you are set. So you spend like $3 and the rest you can get mods for free.
meh, dont agree. there are too many alternatives, some totally free even, with as good and better content. AC is for the mods, and for the few hours I play this game its not worth the extra money for the UE. Can get the dlc and better content free anyways
A lot of mods use assets from the dlcs and they will not work if you dont have the dlc. The nordschleife is also in a dlc. So if you want to join a nordschleife server you cant because its a dlc. The UE is the best thing ever.
It has some of the best online racing , better netcode than iracing , easy to host servers , some of if not the best race cars in all simracing , multiplayer drifting and cruising. Given that the AI is a bit rubbish and there is no actual proper single player it's hard to say it's a single olayer focused SIM. I say this as someone that's 100% completed the game and all steam achievements.
@@GamerMuscleVideos i use it for sp. It doesn't support privet lobby and I couldn't set up a local server eventually. Too hard. I like to race with friends so ams2 is the place to go for me. But even online people use mods right?
