Hey guys! So this is part 5 of my little BG3 fan series I’ve been developing, This part being one that dives into my Tav’s backstory a bit.
This specific animation is one I am incredibly proud of for many technical reasons, but also the message holds a special place in my heart. The idea of feeling voiceless or overall unheard to the point of going numb or shutting down is one that I feel is all too common nowadays, especially with the intense rise of social media. Despite it being a platform to connect with others, it also has a tendency to sometimes overwhelm us with hate and anger.
The hope of finding the courage to regain your voice and identity is something I think we all need. I often struggle with speaking up, even in very basic day to day situations, but over the years I have found small ways to grow more confident and outspoken.
For anyone out there with a similar feeling, no matter how big or small, know that your voice DOES matter, and even if you don’t feel like it you DO have the power to gain back your agency, speak up and express yourself.

Creivan’s whole arc with Tav hurt. Did he really care, would he have killed her, his apology - for hurting her? Bringing her into this? Asking her to do the same to a child she was fond of? All of the above? - all of these are unanswered questions Tav never really got the chance to process. I hope she can find Mei again one day. I like how Tav didn’t want to bring Mei into this kind of life, didn’t want her to become another ‘her’. All of this was beautifully well written and animated, I was so excited when I saw this had been uploaded. Thank you for sharing this beautiful story with us 💖

Creivan is honestly one of my favorite characters I've ever written. The original concept was going to be a very black-and-white take where he was bad and that was it, but when I started drawing him he kind of developed a personality all his own and turned into a more tragic character. I'm hoping I can find a way to do more with him on this channel but we'll see. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a kind and supportive comment. I am truly grateful.

The shot in part 4 where Tav is pointing the arrow at Astarion - at first I thought the importance of it was that it was like a stake being pointed at him and she threw it away to show she trusts him - but now part 5 adds an even deeper context! Wow this series is amazing!!! ❤

I can't tell you enough how beautifully you've made this RavenRose. Your Tav's tragic backstory finally makes everything come together: her voice was suppressed for far too long, the only place she could let it out was in the sewers. Poor Mei. I do hope Tav gets to meet her again once the party makes it to Balder's Gate in Act 3. She'd fit right in with the Fetcher's Brats. I HAVE SO MUCH EMOTION INVESTED IN THIS SERIES!!! 🤩😆

@@ravenrose_99 I wonder how Tav will react to Halsin, who has a strong fatherly vibe. He's also the leader of the Grove, and not too dissimilar to Creivan if you think about it. Just a thought that occurred to me, so no obligation to answer if you think it will spoil your storyline.

I am in LOVE! Oh my god, this was glorious. The way "Viridian" is silenced is heartbreaking as it is compelling. You can tell she only let it happen because she felt loyalty and love for Creivan, misguided as it was. I would love for Sang to make a return as a True Soul or something. Or perhaps she could be Gortash's new bodyguard, having rebuilt/regathered Creivan's guild (unless it was supposed to be the Thieves' Guild or a subsection of the Zhent) and using it to fund his criminal activities. Again, this was absolutely fantastic!!! You've really outdone yourself!

As of right now, I doubt it will ever be in color, simply because that would add a whole other level of complexity that at this moment in time I think would be too much for me alone to tackle. But honestly, who knows, I wasn't expecting to get 5 episodes into this series, so never say never I guess. :) @@mulqueen2023

Obviously it's up to you, but I'm sure you'd easily be able to find a fan who you could commission or something. Do you personally have experience with coloured animatics?

Your story telling through animation really is amazing, and part 5 has not disappointed. The range of emotions here, from heartache and grief, to belonging, triumph, helplessness... she's been throught so much to shape her before the Nautiloid , and it was so cool to see behind the curtain!

Love it ! It's crazy to see how much all our Tavs may struggle on a similar path, even with so different stories. For me, one of the main topic this game explores is how we survive traumas. How we heal from them, how we may perhaps dominate them, how we are consumed by them etc as surviving is not always about healing. We can see this in the different endings our companions have with their personal quests (I'm thinking of Astarion, Shadowheart and even Gayle). So it makes sense our Tavs's backstories may present a similar structure. I hope my English isn't completly a mess, thank you for all your work !

This one is incredible, even more so than all the others, no words can sympathise with how amazingly done this was. Great, great job! The amount of love and care put into this is unfathomable. Oh my god, the *transitions* the playing with perspective and the cuts, this is absolutely beautiful! And the story is heartbreaking. I love that you made Crevian complex, lashing out because he needs to be in control, the iron handed leader. And then the moment of realization upon death, the softening of his face, back to the man we met at the beginning...And lordy loo the shit storm waiting for Tav when they get back to The Gate (along with the self imposed "The Leader Keeps Everyone Safe", that probably bites them in the ass a couple times during the journey). I can't wait to see more of your vision and how you share it! (Also the sign language killed me, thank you for including it)

Omg you've really stepped up the animation in this one, not only is everything smooth the movement, but the transitions between each scene as well to tell the story along through its visual design, alongside the writing and expressions of the characters its honestly professional! This is so beautifully made…I absolutely love this series! I must be honest, a lot of my Tav’s backstory mirrors my own past and backstory. I grew up with an abusive mother, and I felt so trapped with her. It’s due to that relationship that I was so drawn to Astarion. You would not believe the real life anger I felt when I encountered Cazador for the first time, only cause I heard almost those exact words thrown at me before. I can’t wait to see what you come up with next, and for your awesome Tav project too! Please keep doing these, they’re so amazing 😄

darling... that is so beautiful... unfortunately english isn`t my first language and i just won`t be able to tell everything what i feel, but this is definetly the best episode of yours. everything is such on a high level... tav`s backstory and her trauma (tbh kind of simmmilar with Astarion`s and i like that. When she killed Creivan it reminded me of a parallel with Astarion if he kills Cazador. Those emtions both Tav and Astarion expereince, of extreme rage and grief combined). I really like how you intentionally use the music, it really does highlit the narrative so well. also transitions are sick haha. this 0:40 and this 1:40 are my favoutite! Also the use of a green colour looked reaaally beautiful. Gooood now you got me hooked on this story more than ever, i want to know how Tav`s and Astarion`s relationship will grow knowing this information. I love how they are simmilar but also different. how they suffered kind of the same thing but also they can help each other. aaaaagh.... can`t wait for the folllowing episodes p.s i was 100% sure that tav`s scar is from the battle but knowing its story it`s heartbreaking. i love how you told the story of how it happened, really shows your vision and how you consious considering every part of your story. The message in the description is so beautiful... thank you... also smth that i struggle with and deal with in the present. now excuse me i will go and rewatch this masterpiece again🥺😭

I am truly amazed time and time again by your storytelling - it's so masterful and the way you frame shots and actions really make it easy to follow what's happening and adds the right amount of emphasis and impact. Color me impressed! I'm shocked you noticed that! 😎 At first, they were just a dragonborn companion but after drawing them a while, I liked the idea of them being a Dark Urge refrences, which is 100% where the name came from! Nicely done for putting two and two together!! @@catandrobbyflores

Oh my, RavenRose, I loved this video! I find your Tav so interesting and actually found myself getting a little emotional after knowing her background story. It was a tragic one, being betrayed by the one person you thought you could trust your life with, but then realizing that it wasn't the case. I love the fact that we got to get into more depth of her character and actually got to see, how she got kidnapped by the mindflayer ship. Again, it was an amazing video, you are truly talented and know what you're doing ♡ The only thing I want to know now is what happened with the poor Tiefling girl, did she survive, is she going to appear in Tav's life again? I am so excited for how your projects are developing and what's coming next ^^
