Bro I think the Weird teleportation of Sergeant Corrins and his three comrades arr related to the 4:53_ and 4:54_ of the Astartes part 5 since the 4:53_ scene where four Space Rangers are in the palm of skeleton giant and it's related to their teleportation and in the 4:54_ part we see probably three space rangers meeting their death, which is also my theory that three or all of them will be killed in that planet. first of all I just get hooked up to this Astartes series thinking it was a fan animation of a random plot since I encountered this series through a visual effects artist reacting to bad and good CG, watched it myself and turned out that it was a fan animation from a game Warhammer 40k, correct me if I'm wrong, and then came into confusion why I can't understand the story until then I got casted away through your channel which given me the gist of the story and fully understand the series through your explanations even though I still haven't played the game🤣🤣🤣🤣

As cool as that would be, it will never happen. The creator of Astartes said on Patreon that he has no intention of doing a full length feature film. Instead, he will make short anthology series following different space marine chapters
There are 4 flashes at the end. The 1st flash is the tilted pillar on the right, different from the other three. All 5 were teleported there. Of all the analysis of Astartes you're the most informative. Arch Warhammer is a close 2nd. Well done Sir.
I like how in this guy's adaptation he chooses not to remove their helmet like a typical director would to give them "personality", instead treating them like the tactical fighting until they are. And why wouldn't they wear all their armor when they can?
My favourite part that took me a while to figure out is that the Inquisition Tech Priest or whatever he was actually saved them from the grips of the Yu'Vath, he's the real hero.
Whoever it is making these. Needs to be given a blank check to make a movie. With voice this time. But not to much, I don't mind having alot of this kind of story visually explained. Adds something good/different to the whole experience. Really enjoying it.
In Part 3, around 0:23 when it first transitions to the 2 marines running through the corridor, the one in the foreground seems to have the name "SEU" or "BEU". Around 0:25 when the other one starts slowing down, his pauldron seems to read "IRA" or "IKA". It's very hard to tell these two because there's almost constant motion blur and the source is only 1080p. Also, in Part 4, when the psyker knocks away the bolter pistol from the charging marine, you can clearly see the knife is firmly grasped in his left hand. However when it switches to a different angle for the killshot, the knife is now in his right hand, with the left hand cupping the pommel. Slowing it down to 0.25 speed, it looks like the marine switches hands during the split second while he was mid-air. I know the artist probably made this change primarily for compositional reasons. Putting the blade in the right hand gives the viewer a better angle and it represents an unbroken diagonal line that creates a sense of speed and inertia, and directs the viewer's eye toward the bottom left of the screen like an arrow. But him taking the time to animate that hand switch is both a testament of his attention to detail, and also the badassery of that marine.

He confirmed they are homebrew chapters, nothing to do with oats. I think it's the warp, not an alien planet. His inspiration for that scene was a polish artist that depicts all kinds of hellish planes. So they're likely trapped there for eternity
It's not the Astartes who are trapped in Hell, it's the Hell being that are trapped with the Astartes. Think of the damage just one Doomguy can do. Now picture five Astartes.
@@RicardoDirani Not in 40k, only in cringe-tier Matt Wardian lore can anyone do massive damage in the warp. The only non-cringe exception is Kaldor Draigo, but even then in the grand scheme there isn't much he can do other than piss off some deamons.
Wow, even more credit is due to the creator. He really needs resources given to him and make a proper film !!! Thankyou for pointing all of this out, love the subtlety of and the series even more now.
Its also super cold in there to the point the marines' backpacks are making visible exhaust steam, implying (as arch put it) warp fuckery is likely at work, which in turn would support the yu'vath theory since necrons and c'tan don't mess with the warp.
I also loved the detail that after the marine threw up you can see how his blood instantly cauterised which also explains why he wasn't bleeding like crazy.
I figured it out. Episode 3 shows the tall Psychers pushing the running humans and have them under psychic control. This was an accident as you can see plastered over the walls the control studs that are covering the 2nd orb. They tried to control this orb but couldn't and it took over the ship psychicly. That's why they were called rebels. If you watch the 4th one again, you can see the eyes of the golden Psychers are the same black and blue of the orbs when they are talking. And when they hit the ground it's with a metallic thud. This, I think, means that the last free orb is controlling them and they are just shells. Yu Vath used to create bodies and control them, so this is in line with lore. When you go into the room with the larger statue, there are many skulls and spines in the background. Those are for other orbs to control. But there are no more orbs left alive/unchained. The larger statue, I think, is for a larger more powerful "King" orb to control or just for each orb to inhabit themselves. When the two Psychers die in episode 4, the free orb says it has failed, and you can see a "dead" 3rd orb in the background of the one next to the Inquisitor. It is chained up but the things on it are not moving or turned on and it has no cables attached to it so I think the Astartes know what is going from that Orb and the Astartes are tring to stop it. The Inquisitor's orb doesn't activate, the things the Marines stab to the orb allows him to listen in. The orbs realize they are the last 2 left alive and failed in either bringing back their "king" or just failed to fully inhabit the large statue themselves, and the last one runs back to the warp and drag the Marines with for some reason but something interferes and they are released. With 3 orbs total, only 1 is left free. The 1st is dead, the 2nd is chained up, and the 3rd is surrounded by the marines. The rest with the dead planet, I have no idea. Maybe that's where their King is/was? Long story short, the orbs want to come back and create a new army with the orbs inhabiting the large golden statue to lead them and those golden Skull and spine warriors as the Captains and psychicly slaving humans as they did with the ones on the ship, but the Astartes found out from the 1st orb, killed it maybe by accident, captured the 2nd orb and hacked into it, and set out to stop the last free orb who took control of the ship.

@@KillTeamHungary Those arrows are part of their insignia... It represents them as the tactical squad in the chapter... Cant remember the name they were given.. Vinquistors or something I think... Saw a vid of a guy who got to see some of the design art with descriptions about the squad and the different markings on their armour. Edit; they were called the "Impulsor" squad and thats what those chevrons meant.

One. thing people arent talking about is the figures in the psykers vision and the skeletons. I really think the psyker saw necrons in his vision and the place they ended up in was a failed necrontyr stasis chamber. When these chambers failed millions of necrontyr died as a result, so they astares are likely on a tomb world. What a can't explain is the size diffrence. Necrons have similar shoulder pads, capes, and other aspects of the silhouette and these courses say the are necrontyr
That was my thinking as well. Those 'psykers' seemed more like constructs themselves; You'll notice the dozens of spinal column-like objects flanking the huge golden figure under construction... just like the spines of those two enemies the team faced off against.
@@Kainlarsen I just realized, when the sphere said we'll never survive, it's referring to themselves. These spheres must be transcendent C'tans and are composed of multiple c'tan shards. They are each a collective. This would make sense since transcendent C'tans are traped within chambers of living metal made by necrons.
Ok, what everybody missed so far is at 5:27 of the original Part 5 where Kohrens hand gets pulled into the sphere. First he looks away but then focuses onto his hand, then the camera does so and we see not just his hand getting pulled into but also engravings appearing on his armor. The same engravings we can see on the sphere and on the golden giant. At 6:14 of the original Part 5 right when the background lights up you can see the other four marines, the Yu'Vath in the middle and four "smoke monsters". And a fifth of these smoke monsters attacking the Yu'Vath. The fourth bullet used to definitely kill the inquisitor was not necessary because after the third one there is no more psychic energy visible. But better safe than sorry.

Also, is it known that they have different symbols at the back of their right shoulder armor as well as their right knee armor? Astartes is the first contact for me with Warhammer. It is amazing but because of that I don't know what's common knowledge and what's special to this masterpiece.
At 1:15 of Part 5 you can see various frozen puddles of - I assume - water. That is what's cracking at 1:20 At 1:23 you can see their markings on the back of their right shoulder armor. Just when I watched it again I came to think ... what if they are not trying to rebuild the golden giant. What if they use his golden "armor" to build the golden masks with the attached spine? The order of the Marines around the sphere at 3:16 is (CCW) KOHREN, NONAME1, NONAME2, HASSIG, MONOS. In exactly that order they pushed the "knifes" into the sphere, KOHREN as the last one.
The goldeb giant doesn't look like a vessel for them to take shape in. If you look closely it's supported by makeshift kinds of structures - not some planned manufacturing setup. So it looks more like something being either stored or taken apart for analysis rather than something that is being constructed (most likely something that was hastily moved onto the ship). The golden/silver studs should be 120 years (200 years would be 2 golden studs. There's no reason why the first century of service should be denoted by a golden, but the second century by 2 silver ones instead) The final destination of the space marines also seems like an unplanned teleport, as the creature that dragged them into the warp seems to have been attacked (the black cloud visible coming up from below shortly before the cut to the new world)
He even stated that he doesn't like reusing too much because it makes the universe seem small when all the major elements keep knocking into eachother. You need some mystery.

Tesseract #2 breaks it seal. 4:44 - Possessed psyker "Go, its taking hold, but remember, you said the warp tainted would receive the emporers mer- Your juror couldn’t save-" 4:55 - Psyker is killed and Tesseract #2 escapes through his body. 5:10 - Astartes receive order to pull back immediately while #2 returns to #1 5:12 - We see the C’tan 5:15 - The Astartes are captured and slowly absorbed into the ball of living metal / Dolmen Gateway 5:19 / 5:21- None of the ‘shaku’/stakes/suppressors are visible 5:25 - “Nyadra’zatha” (the burning one) the C’tan responsible for teaching the Necron how to access the Webway with living stone gateways called Dolmen Gates. 6:14 - The Astartes are trapped in the Webway presumably about to suffer the same fate as the vision at 4:54. 6:15 - The Webway destroys/distrupts the shard of the C'tan that has been detected in an infected spur of the Webway. The orbs are Dolmen gateways being managed by multiple shards of Nyadra’zatha, a C’tan. Bloody Necrons.
When the inquisitor turns to the captain after listening to the discussion between the spheres, he screams "recall them immediately". Not my discovery but I couldn't find it in the comments. Also when the main space marine turns his head after that at the sphere you can hear faint radio chatter in his helmet.
Oh this is a superb piece of detective work, thank you sir, for some of us, like me, with a limited knowledge of 40k, an in depth discussion like this is pure gold and as such worthy of recognition. If I might add, based on your assumptions or even definite accurate conclusions, the massive figures at the end of part 5, the skeleton structures? Could they be the remains of the original inhabitants of this planet, left in this graveyard of bones as a symbol of a valley of kings? Maybe left like this to demonstrate the absolute power of the Yu'vath? If so the detail in this series is astonishing and anything you find or add to this is gratefully received, again thank you. The emperor protects!
One of the last seconds of the part 5 when we see flashing marine chapter helmets one of them has flame dragon on the forehead which resemble sign of Thousand Sons chaos marines Ouroboros.
An odd observation that I made about the canon fodder in the ship the Astartes boarded; the small arms they used were modeled off the Kel-Tec Sub-2000 pistol caliber carbine and the RDB self loading rifle.
That makes little sense. 2 silver would imply he has served 100 in total. The first after 50 years and then a second after another 50 years. They wouldn't replace the original 50 with a gold. The gold would be given after another 100 years of service. 50 + 50 + 100 = 200. You would give one for the milestone of 50 then 100 and then 200 but its unlikely you would bother with a stud for 150 years of service.
If I thought the detailing in what I watched was amazing, this video makes this series ABSOLUTELY BLOW MY MIND!! Bow down all to the creator of Astartes.

I always thought the ending scene, where the marines are sent to, is the place in the warp for the human spirits once they pass on. The one specualted that the emperor created..
@@KillTeamHungary well as far as I know the aliens may be necron or not judging the shoulder pads. Its not umbra orb because the umbra orbs are black. Yu vath is what the aliens are!
Theory about the statue. They could have been constructing it, to compete it for the yu'vath to possess, or they could've been deconstructing it to create all the helmets and spine thingys surrounding it, to make an army of the psykers.
I like that this video really explains something while most other "Astartes explained" videos are like "well, this could be... we don't know for sure... might be this or maybe that..."
Exactly! That's the beauty in it, I could be (along with ArchWarhammer) totally off on this one, however we all have our own understanding. Thus far everything points towards the Yu'vath, but that doesn't mean we are right.
@@KillTeamHungary i am just not sold on the Yu'Vath - I don't see that "everything" points towards Yu'Vath - i see that there is an entity grabbing the Space Marines that bears a passing resemblance to one of the illustrations but otherwise I am not seeing Yu'Vath. There is the oversized metal man they are deconstructing to build more mask+psy-spines (maybe a Man of Iron maybe something else), there is the whole Valley of the Dead with giant creatures which doesn't match anything on the Yu'Vath I have seen and the Orb doing it's warping of the team could be something akin to the pin-point gating that the tuchulcha engine supposedly do.
Thing YOU missed. These are Tactical Marines, not Impulsors (which is a transport, not a unit type). You can tell because their power armor is clearly the classic Mark VII design and not the Mark X. They are also wielding normal bolters as opposed to the longer bolt rifles.
I humbly disagree :) What you are referring to are Primaris terms. These are classic "mini marines" with MarkVI-VII like armour indeed. The squad type which they are a part of are called Impulsor Squad, a more Elite type of tactical unit formed for devastating precision strikes, thats why they deploy mostly 5 of them at a time. They have Manticora patter bolt guns which is very similar to the Tigrus pattern, these are clearly not the Cawl pattern Bolt Rifles and of course the MarkX armour is also only for Primaris Marines.
@@legionaireb Its the designation of the Squad Type. Impulsors have the triple chevrons on their shoulder pads while Tactical Marines of the Retributors have a two-way pointing horizontal arrow with a no.7 in a circle above it. Its the way this specific chapter designates their operatives, the creator had created it so. They aren't Yu Vath the creator has confirmed it several times. They may have resemblances but its entirely coincidental and he intended the Xenos to be original for the series. He actually said he had never heard of the Yu Vath and only realised the similarities when people pointed it out later.
I am not sure if you noticed: The enemy psykers were rather tall; almost as tall as the Space Marines. Also, the vault in which the alien species is kept sports the number 02, meaning there could be at least one more.
I've seen another analysis video that said the two chapters that flash up at the end, after the Angels Sanguine, are the Void Dragons and the Death's Hands. Apparenlty both are chapters created by memebers of the animator's Patreon.

I'm not sure if the golden vessel was being dismantled or built on 3:43 you can notice there are some of those golden heads connected to the spines just like the ones we saw on those 2 psykers i think they were trying to build an army using the metal from the body and when the space marines got to the orb the orb wanted the marines instead
The main bad guy is not yu vath i am sure the guy that made astartes even stated this after arch warhammer thought that what was case about a week or so after arch released his video on it. it was major kill that found this out from the astartes creator.
You know... I think you might be on to something with that Oats Studios connection. A big question in my mind has been, "who _IS_ this guy?!" That's not to ask in the literal sense really - I'm less concerned with what his name is or where he's from than I am with learning whens and wheres regarding how he became an artist on this level. I mean, he's on another level entirely. I'm really not one to gush, but, goddammit this man is a fucking wizard. The Astartes project is *so good!* No one could watch that series and _not_ be impressed. No way. Anyhow... I've been a fan of Blomkamp's and the work coming out of Oats Studios for some time. I absolutely love the way he tells a story. The artistic craft with which his films are made is also, I believe, on another level. Like Astartes guy, there is a ton of information conveyed to the audience, with little to no words spoken. Both of them can tell a visual tale which is so visceral and engrossing that you can't help but be captivated. With both of them, their films _really_ pull you in. I was on the edge of my seat watching episode #4. And when I watched ep5 the first time, I was so fucking stressed out and filled with anxiety when shit started going down lol - I doubt I took a single breath through the back half of it. Just like those marines, I was transported to another world. Another realm of some unknown master's design. I fucking love it. I wanna go on that ride again. And I've had a similar experieence with Blomkamp's work. His storytelling sucks me in as well. It's good shit. Given their similarities, I think it would be way too much of a coincidence that the skull hand is painted on that marine's helmet. That guy put crazy hidden details in everything. We'll be dissecting and analyzing his work for years lol. There's more there than any of us know, for sure. So the skull hand meant something. Without a doubt. This guy and Neill Blomkamp have worked together. They've worked _closely_ together. I'd put money on it..

I did a little bit of digging on my own - found the Retributors page and learned about them. I was able to spot very briefly on one of the veterans' knee - the one without the cape - that he's part of the Retributors 3rd Battalion. I never did spot anyone else's batallion markings though, so I don't know if they're all from the same company or what. I also noticed some small markings on the back-side of a couple of the Impulsors' shoulder armor. The markings face directly to the rear and can be seen briefly in a scene with the camera folowing close behind 2 - 3 of them. IIRC it's as they proceed into the orb's chamber. I don't know what those markings are though, as there was no mention of them on the page I visited. It's funny because the markings are not far at all from their names. They're kinda right "behind" where the name is written. I never once saw any of those names though. You've got a good eye. Or something like that.. 😉
Yo! Welcome to the channel! Those markings are SQUAD POSITION markings. The Sgt has a Chevron the remiaing 4 squad members have a circle split up onto 4 tiles and the tiles are filled out according to their position in the squad. One has 3/4 empty that means he is the lowest position, while the full circle is just below the SGT. Its basically the chain of command represented on the armor
I love your narration style, some thoughtful and hopefully constructive criticism to help you improve, would be more aware of the power of pauses between sentences of for a powerful, structured and ultimately more effective emphasis of your words than just vocal rises alone without the intermittent straightly placed pauses. Be careful not to use pauses to try to create an impact, but only to focus on emphasis. Your script should be what crates/harness the impact, your narration/delivery must be the most effective conduit for that idea, tougher observation or discussion your script represents. anything else just takes power away from the validity of your creative goals apparent worth, great work and keep make these videos! My typing skills are and a testament to my lack of skill writing myself but I hope you keep improving and if this helps I will be glad that somehow I helped a fellow person

yea I'm with him on this one. This is the first video of yours I've seen but that tone you were going for made it pretty hard to sit through the video personally. Almost like you were trying a little too hard to sound....badass? A more natural voice is always best for any sort of narration. Good eyes though and it was a cool video.
As is said earlier, best CGI i've ever seen, period. fine analysis and thx for the details, probably missed so much more. this guy is a top notch animator and designer. I"ll support him coz i want to see more, and maybe peoples will realize how much of a fraud studio like disney are, when you compare personnal, budget, etc and FINAL RESULTS. Syama PEDERSEN is the Man.
