I've had asthma since I was two years old. I don't always get asthma attacks unless I'm sick or if I overwork myself. I have chronic asthma and I have a history of pneumonia. (I've had pneumonia twice. Once when I was fifteen and again when I was sixteen.)
Kaitlin Lewis same here but last year I got pneumonia 3 or 4 times and bronchitis 6 or 7 times. It was stressful especially when I got behind in school.
I know how you feel on asthmatic and I have epilepsy I landed in recess on Thursday found out I had a chest infection but I had a severe asthma attack on 24 years old I've had asthma and epilepsy since the age of six months
Me, my mom, and 4 of my 6 siblings have asthma so we have all the asthma supplies.. nebulizer breathing treatment machine, spacers, a crap load of rescue inhalers, and the powder you inhale once a day to help not have an asthma attack.. it seriously feels like our lives revolve around asthma.. not being able to breath is the worst thing ever, it’s super fucking scary. I myself have been hospitalized 7 times because of it. I never knew spacers were expensive tho because I’ve never personally had to pay for it.. thank god for insurance even tho they can be assholes sometimes even after all the money we pay them they still try to argue about helping pay for things..
I got diagnosed with asthma my 6th grade year in the dead of winter all I did was cough in class a would never be able to breathe and would feel like someone was punching me in the lungs every breathe when I had these asthma episodes my school as this very strict asthma policy or medication policy so I would never be able to have my inhaler always on me I have to it in my locker/office I can’t have it with me so I had an attack and my inhaler was in the office so my parents took my school to court and now kids like me can have their inhaler with them at all times
All it really does is help if your coordination with breathe/puff motion isn't very accurate, the spacer traps the albuterol mist and makes it easier to inhale. I don't usually use one, my muscle coordination is pretty good because of years dance. My brother needs one though, and they are pretty helpful sometimes, especially if you have a bad asthma attack, and you know how you get weak, it isn't always possible to accurately coordinate your actions for good results.
