This game was a free game developed by a Japanese for 14 years,art and music are all free source.the revision version released on steam also added new story in New Game+,and repainted the characters by the artists from Vanillaware without salary.

This game is incredible. I played through it over my time off during Christmas and loved every second. It's definitely a hidden gem being overlooked by western JRPG fans currently so I hope more people give it the attention it deserves.

Insanely fun game, gameplay is pretty much 2d YS and there is so much to collect/farm that i got 80 hours on my 100% PC save file.

Came across it looking for metroidvanias on Steam some months ago. The music is what really brings it together with the gameplay and odd story. It's an odd piece that clearly was a labor the creator went through until reaching near his perfect vision for it. If it is addictive, then it's a great game.

Excellent review, well explained and full of details. Compliments. Luckily for me I discovered Astlibra recently so I was able to enjoy the new improved translation. I loved it from start to finish, even though I'm not a fan of platform games. I platinumed it in about 200 hours, I have no regrets. 😎😁

To be honest after this video I installed the demo, fully expecting to uninstall it after five minutes because I thought you exaggerated. However I ended up buying the game. Man what an expected gem.

This game is hella underrated. Best indie game i ever played. Story is like chrono trigger meets nier it does the old cliche of time travel and turns it on its head making it an absolute feels trip lol. Like you go back in time and it always has consequences.

The graphics are not complicated and nothing taxes the CPU, like, at all. Any game that gets more than like 4 hours of battery life on a Steam Deck (this game gets 6 with zero tweaks) should be trivial to port to Switch. Performance on switch should be fine.

The demo was so much fun to play, but I'm holding out for an improved translation. It might look chaotic and maybe cheap at first glance, but this is a hidden gem with its heart in the right place.

I think the one odd thing making me doubt this was small BITS of the graphical style - like theres stylized buildings and stuff but "photoreal" trees next to it, many instances of rocks and terrain in odd shapes using weirdly jarring textures too? incredibly small nitpick, but you may have sold me regardless so

5:42 as of a week ago they changed this hooray! And translation has been changed to be better There are some tracks that are free to use and they aren’t original to the game in this most notable one for me is Final boss phase 2 in main story

Only game I know with (spoilers) A canonical "New game plus" mode where your character retains its memories of the future and acts upon them. Only bad part is that it made every sacrifice it took to reach the first ending meaningless, also geas was stupid and unnecessary.

I keep coming across positive reviews for this game, but the art and gameplay both look so horrid. So many people can't be wrong about it, and I do love a good story. I just wish it didn't look like a 1st generation smart phone game.

There's a pretty sizeable demo. Try it out, it's fun. The save file will transfer to the full game too. I'd suggest doing the "Demo" option in the main menu before doing the New Game mode. It's an off the rails sneak peek at a lot of what the game offers.

I just hate the way it looks. It looks like somebody got ahold of a library of random assets and tossed them all in RPG Maker or something. I played the demo when it first got released and am still having a hard time understanding why the review score is so absurdly high. It just looks so cheap.

Gonna be honest, it looks like a love child between Ys and the CDI Zelda games. Not entirely sure if that's a good thing or not but it really puts me off. Mainly because I've been here before, felt the exact same way about A Valley Without Wind and that was horrid.
