The pre pre season is always exiting with your videos. Maybe also do some aero analysis on retro/legendary F1 cars? Like the Ferrari F2004 or the one and only Virgin cfd only car. Edit: I was wrong, it was a Virgin not HRT.
I have little faith in initial front wings at launch. Most teams switch them at the first race. But, I do enjoy your analysis. I love to learn new things and you are a good teacher. Thanks for sharing.

Love your videos. I particularly appreciate the combination of detail while admitting that without CFD and a wind tunnel there's a certain amount of educated guesswork in your analysis. Yours have been more enlightening than any other F1 aero analysis I've seen.
Year two of the new regulations and I'm happy to see all the cars still look really pretty! Totally unrelated to this video but I think if the FIA wanted to limit outwash on the front wings they should have gone to a narrower spec front wing like the f1 cars from the 2000's.
If I remember correctly, the discussion from last year was that this size of wing was needed to try to balance downforce between the front and back, as the design was inherently more rear biased than the previous gen.
Both cars had front wing contact and suffered little or no damage. So thickening that leading edge seems to have paid off while other cars had the tiniest contact and the wings broke or suffered damage. To me it makes so much more sense to lose a few hundredths of a second than have 4-5 races comprised by flimsy wings.
Can you explain difference between Downwash and Upwash? Its sometimes hard to grasp when you are painting votexes and arrows, since some of them are showing under the floor and some of them are showing flows over the floor, and all of them are on the same plain of drawing.
i'm not an engineer just some casual f1 fan. But I think downwash = air pushed to down/bottom side of the car presumably for the floor element, Upwash=air pushed to the up/top of the car/top of the body
Hi, I very like your vidoes! I have one point, that could maybe help to improve the videos. As the Backround is mostly white I loose sometimes track of your mouse, when you are switching between the pictures to draw something. Maybe try to play around with different colours of the mousepointer or there is a better idea than mine. Sorry for my bad english. I think you should do an introduction to your drawings... the basics at least... sometimes I spend long time and rewatch some of the bits just trying to figure out the meaning of the drawings! 🤣
Its interesting to see Aston and Mclaren take heavy inspiration from the RB18. Its expected but i like really like seeing others take the heavy inspiration but still making it a bit of their own
Looking from top down, I see that the nose slightly bulges out before coming back in. What is the purpose of this over simply making the nose lines straight?
ru-vid.compyUXVXNZLHo The little side channel in this short video is basically the mouse hole on the side of the diffuser. The edge wing makes a vortex that shoots air into the mouse hole inducing vorticity in the diffuser in the form of a lateral jet of air.
So, are my eyes tricking me or is there a hole in the leading edge of the floor? Go to 6:25 and just below and to the right of the maroon colour Kyle has added… is that not the shadow of a hole in the carbon fibre?
Please just a small ask I really love the page but the white background with the tiny cursor and you're jumping from picture to picture with a complicated task of explaining to idiots like me what's going on period maybe a bigger cursor a red cursor something.

I think he has the credentials to prove that he does know what he is talking about. There aren't too many in this field that the experience, knowledge or education (including the PHD) and give it to us freely.
