When I try to use the UP arrow in order to Like the video, it instead displays the chapters, and there is an instruction that says Press up to view chapters. Other ‘chapterized’ videos do not show this same behavior, so it must be something that you do when you create them. If I can’t reach the Like button, I can’t Like the video.

@@armadillolover99 I'm a Ferrari hardcore fan but I don't think it is such a big exploit from ferrari, I think it's a trick to obtain some airflow efficiency with a big sidepods design tho. I mean other cars as red bull has way smaller designs so they can't and probably wouldn't even needed that bypass inlet. This way Ferrari can keep their sidepods philosophy without giving up on all the air penetration efficiency.

@@barneyklingenberg4078 well I thinks its mostly in the black livery as well but I find the W14 much more pleasing to the eye to last years. I just hope that they have learned their lessons from last year's design and have a title contender on their hands. these analyses are incredible, your attention to detail is astounding, and your deep knowledge is apparent. That bypass duct is fascinating. I wonder if it would be worth the drag hit to accelerate that flow inside the duct and use it to energize the boundary layer over the sidepod louvers. Any internal radiator would surely break up the large structures ingested by the duct, and condition the flow similar to the heat exchanger in a wind tunnel. I've never worked in the F1 space so I don't have a good understanding of the flow around any part of the car, and your assumption of cleaning up the flow around the top of the floor seems more reasonable, but I wonder if there are other secondary benefits.

Ferrari is pushing hard on aero innovation and air fluid work to better clean them. They refined an already winning concept. Watch out cause everyone else followed more or less the RB path (apart Mercedes) and there's no way that this Ferrari will be slow since it's an evolution and not a revolution. If Mercedes was able to make works it's phylosophy we could see a Ferrari and Merc faster from 0.5 sec and more, than all the others, RB included if they didn't stepped up the game with some genial solution as this one of Ferrari. We all get are hopes up this time of year but, before long, many of our hopes are dashed. I'm going to guess Max is once again at the top of the tables even if his teammate is finishing behind another team. If the new RB is within the top three teams, and I think that's almost a given, then with Max at the wheel another championship is within reach. I hope Haas has a good year, I really like both their drivers and as an American I would like to see Haas place well and place well consistently. Sad that it didn't workout for Mick, I guess it was too much to expect Michael's son would be able to take a backmarker car onto the podium in his first year. If the aero concept allows the car to preserve the tyres better its game over.
@solinvictus1234
@solinvictus1234 Год назад
Ferrari until half season last year was the best on tyre consumption. Then they had the PU reliability issue and having to cut the powerhorse they had also take off some downforce from the car, is that the reason why they started to have an huge tyres degradation, that was related to the lack of HP, cause if you have the full HP at disposition you can add downforce that will benefit the tyres. The car design and suspension had nothing to do with the issue of last year Ferrari. Is better to say that if they have resolved their PU reliability issue, also the tyres consuption will be great as it was until last half season period.
@kwl189
@kwl189 Год назад
@@solinvictus1234 the PU reliability issues came with the upgraded engine. I don’t get how you equate a PU reliability issue to then Ferrari running with lower downforce. Ferrari were on the tyres from the beginning, it’s just Red Bull progressed on the weight and this issue and Ferrari didn’t progress on that front. This can be seen how Ferrari switched the tyres on better than anyone else for qualifying but come the race, they struggle to control the degradation on them.
@kwl189
@kwl189 Год назад
It’s possible Ferrari lost the extra weight they carried last season which will naturally improve tyre deg. With extra downforce, Ferrari will also be in a good position to be easier on the tyres. There are strong rumours of the PU being the best on the grid but have to wait and see.
@solinvictus1234
@solinvictus1234 Год назад
@@kwl189 Cause the downforce an F1 car produce is strictly related to the amount of power it can put in the ground. If you have a car at full power you can add downforce modyfing the wings angle and the thres consumption will be better. But if you DON'T have enough HP to stay with the opoonents (as happened to Ferrari that had to cut his engine HP) you have to took off some downforce from the car to not compromise his acceleration, but the tyre will suffer that lack of downforce, resulting in high degradation. All cars progressed on the weight, that's the primary area where teams try to find performance immediately. And no according to official sources (RB included admitting that) Ferrari was lighter than RB

Great analysis as usual, many interesting points. Ferrari in effect have a dual side pod design with the traditional side pod and the Mercedes-esc smaller side pod lower down, perhaps this will increase cooling performance. Overall, it seems that Ferrari have influences from Mercedes, namely, sliming the body, the front wing, and although they have increased the mass flow with the additional intake, it has geometric similarity with the Mercedes sided pod.
