A time when I hardly missed a game, home and away. Before marriages and children, and a career as a teacher (!) I used to go to away games with a fantastic group of fans; Dave Perkins, sadly passed away just before Christmas, Rossy and the incredible Villa fan, Dave Bridgewater. In a clapped out Viva we used to go to matches in the early 70s and what memories from those halcyon Villa nearly always winning days. The horror of Millwall away, the Bovril at Notts County, the holes in the roof at Bolton and goals aplenty. Into the 80s, eventually and every home game in our First Division Champions season seen with Dad, who dies two weeks ago. Thanks Dad for making me a Villa fan! Rotterdam of course, I was there and so to now, when going to the Villa is so different to the Seventies/Eighties but still fabulous. In Uni we trust, last year was phenomenal and when I reach 90 in 23 years time, I hope a video like this will be made of 2023 for me to get goosebumps over, just as this one is giving me now. UP THE MIGHTY VILLA. RIP Dad. Happy days who can ever forget February 12 1972 villa vs Bournemouth ted Mac dougal billet of a header but 48000 roared us on to a memorable win 2-1 unbelievable third division game

Villa, was always an attacking team & you always got your money's worth with them, Wolves also. Midlands' clubs always much the same. All the Midlands Clubs are prone to relegation as well.

Brilliant of Brian Moore to highlight the disgusting tackle by Kenny Burns. Pure scum of a bloke, how wonderful that his cock up led to our winner. I was there and remember the match so clearly.
