Thank you for this video. According to the Haynes manual, you need to drill out rivets and remove the metal bar, but this video shows it is possible without removing the bar. I ordered a non OEM plastic clip on amazon, it looks slightly different and it needed to be stuck into the handle hole before pushing the rod into it.
I would take the haynes manual with a pinch of salt. It always seems to expect you to take the car apart when you can usually just get in to things much easier. It's good as a rough guide though and for torque settings etc. Good to hear you got it fixed though, I didn't expect you could even buy those small clips anywhere! Cheers
