In this episode, we finally get the engine back in the car and get the gear change mechanism fitted and adjusted
hope some of you hardened mechanics out there aren't getting bored and will stick with us but the idea of this channel is to go into as much detail as possible in the hope that we can inspire and help anyone doing this quite major job for the first time

I've got a 2005 astra h 1.8 automatic transmission, I've bought the new engine but all ancillaries need swapping from old to new as a person with zero mechanical experience but some knowledge is it possible for me to do the engine and ancillaries swap myself

Hi, I'm not a trained machanic, I started out years and years ago without any knowledge and tought myself, but for a big job like an engine swap you will need some knowledge and specialist tools

A bit older than mine but I would look to see what other models your engine is fitted in, for example cavalier/Vectra or other Astra variants, it should be possible to fit an engine from any of those should fit into your Astra, just bear in mind, fitting a different engine will mean you need the ECU and wiring as well plus you may need a different gearbox, exhaust system and radiator plus many other bits, do you research carefully first
