tigy time hughes Thanks! About washer on the drain plug, yes, it should be changed with every oil change, if you have a drain plug with washer. In this case, the drain plug is a little bit different, without washer, it has only a rubber seal around it.

@@diytechbro563 I just changed my oil and my drain plug had the little rubber inside it too and had a new washer but didn't put it on coz it had the rubber inside ..so if it has that rubber do it not need a washer coz I am bit concerned after not putting one on it..

@@gavin9873 It’s OK 👍, the drain plug type with rubber seal don’t need washer, if you use a washer won’t seal. The washer is used only for the “classic” drain plug with hexagonal head.

This type of oil drain plug have a ruber gasket stick on it, the hexagonal type use copper washer

@diytechbro563 good to know! So basically older cars mostly. I have a 92 Miata that has one, true, I haven't done the oil change myself on my Astra H yet

you need to check what type of drain plug you have, if is a hexagonal one you will need a new copper washer, if you have a torx one, no.
