Congratulations on your Stowaway! Got mine just last August. Added an additional SBV08 to the top of the rings for accessories as well as the QRBase on the focuser. Enjoy! I use the extra dividers to put my PMDMax diagonal and DSLR25NIK & one for the 92FF Field Flattener. Perfect spaces to 'Stow' them all - even in their boxes.
THANK YOU guzzialfo! And congrats to you also. I am going to do like you also with the accessories. Clear skies are on for tonight at my home. Take care.
Congrats on getting the Stowaway. I waited on the original waiting list for over 19 years before finally receiving number #28 in December 2018. I had to chuckle when you called the Stowaway "so nice and light". I think it's heavy, being built like a tank!! I know what you mean though, when I had my AP 130 GT I thought it was light compared to my AP 155 at the time. Now at retirement age I've downsized and the Stowaway is about as perfect a scope for that as it gets.
Glenn B 19 years, WOW, must be close to a record wait time. Amazing isn't it? Back in the day you could just call them on the phone and place an order. No wait list. That is how I got a 6" f/12 (1991) and a Traveler (1995). In about 1997 it changed. When I wanted the 400 mount I was told to "get on the list" from Marj over the phone. I agree, the Stowaway is built like a tank in a small package. I have the 130GTX and it is a bulky scope in comparison. I also have a 175 f/8 and it is HEAVY. I am getting closer to retirement myself and looking to simplify things if possible. The Stowaway may be AP's most made scope from them as it offers a nice sweet spot in aperture and portability. Looks like they can build them faster than any other scope they have ever made too.
@@starastronomer Yes, but I don't think Roland plans to make another run of Stowaways and at it's present number of aprox 330 scopes worldwide it still a very rare scope compared to anything mass produced, and just as other AP scopes will hold its value well or much more likely increase in value especially after Roland retires. I don't plan on selling mine.
@@starastronomer Please let me know when you are ready to down size. I believe I can be of help when the time comes I hope. my first apo was TMB 100mm sold for 130EDF, sold that for beat up 155EDF and traded for 178mm starfire but then, I got busted by my wife and down sized to AP Traveler then I got a call for 130gt... you see if you do not truly retire, the cycle only repeats again and again. you sir have most desired collection of refractors ever known to men. Thank you for sharing all your examples
My 1525 that arrived yesterday was wrapped in plastic. Actually every case, pelican or otherwise (save for the Apache cases from HFT) have arrived in a plastic bag. And now that I think of it , I have to question why? These are waterproof cases.
