I've been having major charging problems with my Astro, Needing to clean contacts daily, giggle & shake him on the charger, etc. Wish it had some type of light to indicate charging. Any problems like that with yours?
I’ve not had that issue. However, my charging base had gotten crooked and sitting flat against the wall and Astro wasn’t able to dock. The charger had the two contacts that stick up and they are spring loaded, do those seem to still have tension and move up and down freely? Or check the plug going into the charging base. Last test I can think of at 3:30 am (when I’m responding to this) is try a different power outlet. Maybe a bad plug. Other than that, possibly a lose connection inside Astro itself. I would really hate to open him up, but the warranty on mine is expired so I would have to peek inside. Last resort is the restart. I don’t think factory reset will help, but I wouldn’t rule that out. Keep me posted on anything you find out.
I think I've fixed it. I had 1 of the contacts melt into the plastic base parts & was sent a replacement charger. They didn't ask for return so I tried A repair by adding silver solder too the contact & as long as I had it apart decided to stretch the springs a bit. Put it together & tested it & worked. So I boxed it up & put it away & used the new one. When I started having prob. again I plugged it into a KILL-A-WATT device so I could see what it's drawing (about 0.67 charging 0.14 or less full charge & 0.00 Astro off charger) 2 days ago I swapped back to my old base & haven't had issue since & Amp readings are the same except with full charge Astro on base it reads a solid 0.24A. So if you should develop a charging prob. a stretch of the spring might help.@@gnjadventures
