Just a few quick tips on how to terraform level ground, 45 degree ground, etc... Mega Base Tour: • Astroneer MEGA BASE Tour Zero-G Base: • Astroneer - Zero-G Bas...
This is BY FAR the best tutorial on creating flat surfaces in Astroneer. I've seen lots of them, and none mentioned that you need to find a specific level, where polygons end, so that the surface you create is perfectly flat. That was my mistake. Thanks a lot for this
I had to come back for another look because having now tried it, you make it look so easy. A bit more patience and practice and I am sure that I will get there. Clearly the key is to get that flat surface fist. Can I ask, when you start building your wall do you get the end to the right width first ie to establish the thickness, or do you work the entire length of the wall first and then fix the thickness. Thanks
Flatten the ground. Build a wall and create a long, flat face. Widen one end and get that to be a 90 degree corner with the first wall. Trim the thickness of the "end wall" so it's 2 cubes wider than your tool tip, then flatten the opposite side to get the start of the rear wall.
I can flatten the ground without to much bother. But creating the walls is becoming a nightmare. My walls all end up either with a slight curve to them, so they will not flatten. Or I get a flat surface but it is leaning back or forward slightly - not vertical.
thank you. you seem to be the first one to figure out the levels thing. I can get it every time now. also good to note on the other planets wherever you land won't be in the middle of a plane, just look at the direction of the layers, then once you have these flat plane, just follow it down until you are perpendicular. takes a bit of work and tunneling but worth it. note there are only 26 perpendicular spots per planet
