Hi, great video, really cool to see that this works so well! Wondering if you think it is good enough to replace a dedicated drawing tablet (ie Wacom) for apps like Photoshop, Procreate and Clip Studio?

Hi JK! I don't know about Procreate since it's native on iPad and didn't need to use Astropad Luna Display to connect to it. I don't know about Clip Studio, but it was my only drawing tablet for Photoshop.

Thanks for the video! I've been looking for an optimal low latency setup. How do you keep the ipad charged when using a wired connection? Does the wired connection give the ipad more power than it takes?

Hi Yokura! I tend to keep my iPad plugged in even when fully charged so it doesn't ever decrease. BUT if my iPad had a low battery and I used it with luna display, it would use more energy and constantly shoot a notification of having a low battery. I would keep it wired whenever possible.

Hi Anthony! Not sure what you mean by Jitter? Is that the equivalent for using "streamline" in Procreate?

@@skybluejenny I'm referring to line quality you can achieve when drawing slowly; the line jitter as you try to draw straight or smooth lines on angles in different applications. The surface pen is terrible for it, wacoms sometimes have the issue but they are usually pretty great, Apple pencil is somewhere in between usually. But I haven't ever seen anyone talk about it while using Luna display. I just need to know if it messes with the line quality as you draw at different speeds or if the apple pencil has tilt and pressure, while also being able to do clean lines.

I have an iPad Air 3. I want to upgrade to an M1 device. But I got an idea of buying a Mac mini M1 since it's cheaper and can run iOS apps and use my iPad as the monitor with the help of Luna display touch and use luma fusion. By this way I can also use the Mac also if needed for any other purpose. What do u think??

That sounds like a practical use for your iPad and keep your setup minimal as possible! Just be sure that you also be mindful of other things you MIGHT need if you use your iPad air for your monitor with your mac mini, you'll still need a keyboard, a mouse, a microphone, speakers, etc. Is there anything else you would be using your Mac Mini x iPad Air with that might make you hesitant about investing in it?

how usable is the apple pencil without the astropad app(just lunadisplay on the ipad connected? for example with pencil pressure sensitivity, tilt, consistency?)? Thanks for sharing this original content out there btw!

I think she said if you connect the cable on top of that dongle, there is a zero lag.

Yes I used it without connection sometimes, but it would take some time for the strokes to register

Great video thanks. I have been using just Astropad with a wired connection and find it quite laggy when drawing. Does Luna improve the lag?

Thanks J C! I found that it did improve the lag, but that's ONLY when I have the Luna Display device plugged in PLUS the direct, wired connection.

If you're sharing your iPad with others, airplay is perfect! Some people like to use Sidecar to turn their iPad into a second monitor. Some creatives might want to use the iPad as a drawing display tablet much like a Wacom Cintiq so it totally depends on what you want to be able to utilize your iPad for.

Did you notice any blurriness? That's an issue I currently have with Astropad Studio.

I didn’t experience any blurriness, but it was when I was using it but I was on a MacBook Pro that I got in 2017. Is the blurriness on the whole astropad interface or just the screen? Because there is a retina setting for display in your system preferences for Luna display. Unfortunately, I can’t remember with Astropad studio alone.

Hi! The official Astropad Instagram shared that they've added 5K support on Luna Display, so I'm wondering if that could potentially solve your blurriness issue :)

@@skybluejenny I actually solved the blurriness by plugging my iPad to my MacBook instead of using wireless connection. My new issue is that my ipad colors aren’t matching the colors on my macbook. I don’t have luna display but do you think it would solve this?

When you were on teleprompter mode, were you connected on the call through the ipad? Or were you connected on the device you had the iPad connected to?

I was on a Zoom call from my Mac, the device I was connected to.

@@skybluejenny i baught it to use Luna display as cintiq in certain situations.but resently i updated my ipad 6 to ipad air and now sidecar is working fluently with zero lag while the ultra costly dongle Luna display is super lagging.I regret for buying it
