If he keeps pitching like this he will be a candidate for MVP. The last pitcher to win MVP was Verlander in 2011 and Kershaw in 2014.

Wow, this Verlander dude is pretty good. Ironically, if he's able to stay healthy that long absence will most likely extend his excellence. Quite a bit more tread on the tires than others his age.
