It's Tucker that is in a slump this playoffs. Last year it was Altuve. It's not hurting much with Tucker in a slump. I hope he breaks out of it with everyone else staying hot.

Tucker can break the game open if he gets going, had many missed opportunities so far. He needs to go back to no batting gloves....

Astros have to win this next game. They have a better chance of winning at least one at Minute Maid but probably can't win two at home. I have high confidence in them away from Minute Maid. Was Minute Maid built on top of an old Indian burial ground?

@@murphybrown1366 Honestly, we wouldn't have won this game without him. The 3 run bomb really shook the Rangers up. But what really was the nail in their coffin in this game was the unassiated DP. That really changed the tone of the entire game by killing their rally. The Rangers were starting to get to Brown and putting the pressure on him, and were building up to a comeback. Abreu said "Nope. Not happening." All by himself.

Alright you Dusty haters. I'm not saying I love him or think he's amazing....but a whole lot of yall will bitch about him no matter what he does, win or lose. Tonight he managed a perfect game. I mean PERFECT. Tried to get Urquidy as far as he could, but once there was trouble, he took him out. In the THIRD INNING. For all the complaining about how long he leaves starters in, he pulls him in the 3rd, Stanek rewards the decision with a double play , Hunter Brown cruises through 3 shutty, Maton 2 clean, and Montero closes it out. Personally I would've tried to let Hunter ride as long as he could, but maybe it was better to pull him before Rangers had a chance to figure him out and get any kind of momentum. Outstanding management from Dusty, imo he was the MVP of this game, perfectly managing the pitching, but also the lineup he put together. Learn to give credit when it's earned yall. Dusty earned it tonight.
@C.J.33
@C.J.33 10 месяцев назад
I mostly bitch about his lineups. Got the death squad on the roster, doesn't utilize it when were struggling during the season on the mound and need the runs and he has Maldi out there just 0-fering. That lineup was used what, ONCE throughout the year. That and the constant shuffling of players. Someone has a good game, sits for 3 or 4 (Chas and Diaz). Refused to move players down in the lineup when they were struggling throughout the year. "Gotta keep the lefty's separated..." IDK, so much that he did or didn't do over the season just irks me. Was grateful that he came in and righted the ship after the scandal, especially since he is one of the most likeable managers in terms of personality. But I hate that the argument for most of the people that complain about us bitching about Dusty is that "He literally won us a ring last year and is taking us back to the playoffs this year"- First off, It's not like he had to do much, this roster is loaded and all he has to do is not screw up, which he hadn't done for quite a bit of this year. The team won last year despite his decisions, not because of them haha. It's just his decisions don't make a lick of sense at times. Knowing when to leave a pitcher in or not is debatable. It obviously comes down to the final score and if it mattered in the end. His overuse of Montero, knowing he is struggling is laughable. I'm glad that he's come around as of late but he still makes me nervous, even with a 7 run lead lol. This was a very well managed game tonight. It also helps when you can come out in the game and bust them in the mouth before your pitcher has the chance to take the mound. But this team is ROLLING in Mimic Maid and I love it. Let's just get this game tomorrow and bring it back to Houston. We'll cross that "Can't win a damn thing at home" bridge when we get there. Here's to hoping JV can light it up like he did in Game one (With run support). And Please Framber in Game 6, I'd love it if he could keep himself balanced. Swear he is the Jekyl/Hyde of this year. One game gives up 6, next game CG No hitter, next game 5 runs, next game 3 hits over 7. Please don't Kershaw it up.
@big_red01027
@big_red01027 10 месяцев назад
@@C.J.33 I'd rather not see Framber in Game 6. But since he absolutely will be (along with Tucker), I hope his leash is SHORT, just like Urquidy's was tonight.

@LarasHottt Chas literally played all but Iike 4 games since June....he was out there every single day.....Diaz played over 100 games as well. Should he have played more? Probably, but it was Verlander and Framber who want Maldy out there when they're pitching, and if I'm Dusty I'm doing what they want, plus he's 1) a rookie, and 2) a Catcher. We saw Peña struggle in the second half last year until he lit up the playoffs, so pacing Diaz, particularly at the Catcher position, isn't the worst idea. And again, you guys seriously overstate how "little" he played. I agree it was frustrating at times, and he should've played more but I encourage you to actually look up Chas and Yainer's game logs on Baseball Reference to see how much they actually played. The fact yall still talk about how he "sits" them for "3 or 4 days" is such a testament to the sheer tunnel vision yall get, and this is Jake Meyers all over again. "Ohh he was so good when he came up!!" Ya....for 3 weeks....then he sucked, but yall don't remember that part. Yes....Chas was shafted on playing time through May....then Dusty gave him the job every day. And Diaz was in the lineup plenty. Maldonado has his job security for a reason, and I don't think it's JUST because of Dusty.... And I'm sorry, but this idea that "all he had to do was not screw it up" is what's laughable, not Montero's usage. First off, Montero since June has a sub 3.00 ERA....so Dusty's faith in him and letting him work through his problems obviously paid off. Secondly, knowing your love of AJ Hinch, you can't tell me how great Hinch was and in the same breath say all Dusty did was not screw it up.....I'm sorry but you just can't. They both won a ring, lost a WS, and lost an ALCS. You can tell me Hinch is better, but you seriously just can't tell me that one is great and one is terrible or simply along for the ride when they have identical records. AJ Hinch had just as good, if not BETTER teams, particularly in 2019, and the only time he got it done was when they "cheated" (i believe ive covered this before with you. Yes, everyone was doing it, but they still only won that year, if that makes sense). They got steam rolled in 2018 (granted by a team cheating), and then absolutely choked in 2019, with Hinch making a questionable decision. He stuck with Abreu and it's paying off now. He stuck with Montero and its paying off now. Speaking of 0-fers, Yainer has been lost in the playoffs while Maldonado has actually contributed in some key spots. He trusts his players, and they play for him. Do I think he's the "great" manager he's made out to be? No......but at the same time at some point you can't argue with results. Fact is he's done something Hinch didn't. In fact he's done 2 things Hinch didn't. 4 straight ALCS, and back to back WS apps. Yes, Hinch's opportunity was cut short, but it doesn't change the fact that in his first 4 years he's done better than Hinch's last 4, all while he's been losing talent every year while Hinch gained talent. Hinch gained Gerrit Cole, Michael Brantley, Yordan came up....Dusty lost Cole, lost Springer and Correa, lost Yuli, lost Verlander TWICE, the ridiculous amount of injuries this year that yall want to just completely overlook and act like the 90-72 record was simply Dusty being incompetent. Like bro.....he literally was throwing Ronel Blanco, Brandon freaking Bielak, rookie JP France, and a dead arm Cristian Javier out there after Framber because of the injuries to the Rotation, on top of missing Yordan and Altuve for like half the season.....wtf does this guy have to do to get SOME respect from you people.
@imnotcreativeenoughh
@imnotcreativeenoughh 10 месяцев назад
@LarasHottt I've never claimed he's a great manager, but I'm sorry....he's a good manager despite how desperately yall don't want him to be. Yes he's stubborn, yes he does things that are infuriating but so did Hinch! This is just a macro version of Pressly constantly getting hated on as "not a real closer". It's hyper focus combined with deep, invested emotion that magnifies everything ridiculously out of proportion. Every baserunner Pressly allows is another "he sucks" or "just can't trust him", and every loss is because Dusty insists on playing Maldonado. Every offensive struggle is because Dusty's lineup was terrible. It's so ridiculous. And just illustrates such a painful ignorance of the sport in general.

The regular season and playoffs are two different animals. There there was our manager in 2019 holding one of the best pitchers back for game 8 instead of putting him in the game (Cole) which ultimately cost us another ring. I have no problem with Dusty in the series. Players also have to hit the balls pitched to them which did not happen in game 1 of the series. Game 2 we also had a chance, but it didnt happen. Now we are in a position to do something tomorrow, lets hope Verlander hold his end of the deal.

What helped in this game is that they figured out Tavares. In the previous game nothing went past him, any hit that was heading towards homerun he caught. Any hit that came close to him he caught. Here we see how nothing gets close to him and anything that is in his general area falls way short of a homerun chance.
