For the price tag, game-play in game currently and the quality of the Solo Dev being very vocal with the community this is a no brainer to add to anyone's Space Game collection.

This title is one I have been following for years. Always wished for an "Eve Offline" :0)

Splat: I like to live my life like I'm on the highway to the danger zone. 2:35 That pretty much sums up why I'm subbed to Splat.

The quality, and visuals details in everything (UI, surroundings, etc.) is incredible for a solo project ! Hope he/she opens up to others and becomes a team (I am not proposing myself: not my point. I have no relevant skills).

YES!! Splat! Thank you for shining the spotlight on this one. This game is actually awesome, and Jace (the dev) is constantly updating via vlogs on his channel. I'm excited for its future.

Eve's combat actually has much more mechanical nuance than people realize.

I remember playing Astrox on Kongregate as an FTP mining game.

This reminds me of Escape Velocity, an amazing sandbox game from the 90s on the mac.

I bought this game a while back after watching one of the developer update videos, he is passionate about the game and seems quite determined to keep adding more and more things plus he does listen to feedback and makes changes accordingly. An EVE offline is something a lot of us have been hoping for and this might just be it plus game updates come in quite regularly besides, what other game has diapers and cat food as life support lol

This game is a wonderful offline eve subsititute. It is still in early access and the developer has a lot of work ahead to complete his vision for the game. That being said an amazing amount of work has been done and the developer is incredibly active with regular updates. In my short time in the games discord the core group of players/playtesters and developers has been quite helpful and friendly. The dev is also active in discord and is also helpful and friendly. In case none of that has sold you consider the mod tools that are included in the games main menu. In a couple short days I have designed and flown four of my own ships using the ship mod tool which allows you to create ships using pre-made parts that you put together similar to legos. After designing the part layout/look of your ship you are able to set the stats as you see fit. Yes you can make a wholly unrealistic ultra powerful ship that sells for a pittance. You can also design entire lines of ships or rework the stats of the standard ships to fit the universe in your imagination.

Game definitely has come a long way since the last time i played it on Kongregate.

hey splat, thanks for turning me onto some great indie games over the last year, if i could make a suggestion... i know you edit these for our benefit to save time when youre slow traveling and skill training, it would be helpful if you had a real time clock running somewhere. Ive gotten a couple of games that if i knew the real time travel took so long i would have passed. Just a suggestion, keep up the great reviews

I remember when Astrox was a flash game on Kongregate. This is the 2nd iteration, and it's pretty good.

I played this game a long time ago, in it's early early access, and liked it, waiting for the story mode to be implemented. Even without that, I enjoyed playing and building level/skills, etc. until I had a substantial fleet and the best ships. There is even a ship editor and a lot you can do to customize.

This is my kinda jam! Beta tested EvE back in the day, was never really happy with how it turned out in the end (Not new player/casual friendly), so I'm down, and it's on sale right now!

I was wondering when you'd show this gem. It has improved alot but still has so much to do. Glad he finally added a passive income generator finally lol.

I stop by this channel periodically if I see a game that interests me, but want to look at it before I buy it. I appreciate the work done here. Secondly, I bought this game a while back and played it for a while. It's fun. Pretty easy to get money, but less easy to get skill points to level and get into the big ship. The dev is pretty responsive about issues reported, so that's a good thing. As others have said, it's one person, and to have created what this game offers is truly a labor of love. I stopped because there was no story (at the time) and I had gotten the biggest ship, and all the cool guns for it, and didn't feel like grinding to max ranks. Edit: One other note. The game has a "campaign" mode (but no story) and "sandbox" mode. When I played, they were basically the same, except Sandbox has everything randomized, even star names, which is why some of the systems are totally unpronounceable and very WTF. Campaign's map has more "normal" star names and predictability between games.

Elite does have an auto-pilot of sorts. But it only works in system. You just line up with the destination, turn on the cruise assist(if you have the module loaded), and it'll either orbit a planet/moon/etc or drop out of super cruise when you get to a station or some poi/signature event. It's not quite as set it and forget it as eve's auto pilot, but it's the point of elite is you're the /pilot/.

*Astrox* : It's _my_ favorite ointment for when my Hemorrhoids -j.j.abrams- flare up.

Elite dangerous also wants you to be there if you are interdicted. It’s suppose to be irl time.

Looks good, I'd definitely buy it when it's finished. Unfortunately I've been burnt so many times that I will never buy an unfinished game now. The life support system looks really frustrating though.

Elite Dangerous is a first person space simulator. It's not an idle game. Besides, you already have autodocking and supercruise assist.

Sooo I guess my 12 years of eve online play will come in handy...

Excellent game - but it's got a long way to go. Another game by one person is Stellar Tactics; it also has a long way to go, but already has 100 hours of great gameplay in it!

I would like to see a crew health bar on the ship that goes down when something bad enough happens that might kill crew like a hull breach I think it would be cool to see floating bodies outside of a ship, it would also create a good excuse for derelicts. I would have a very durable crew health bar because hull and shields exist to prevent crew deaths of course ship function would drop as crew numbers get low.

I might get it just for the music.

I didn't think I would like this at all but it looks pretty cool.

Bought this game in its original incarnation, Astrox: Hostile Space Excavation and played well over 200 hours. Kinda ticked me off since I had to buy the game again when he moved over to Imperium, but I did buy the game again and currently have a little under 100 hours though it has been a while since I played.

No Joke! Monday i was split to reinstall EVE... but now i maybe have a new game to hope for.

Yeah very EVE Online, but the "fabs" and sketchy GUI reminds me of X3 as well. :)

You should take another look at Elite Dangerous, they added a component for ships called auto-cruise. Works in a similar way to auto-docking.

Hey Splat, have you played Stellar Tactics? I couldn't find a video via search tool, but never can tell with RU-vid nowadays.

Hmm 1 thing to point out. The factions right now are 1 main faction 2 sub factions. So alpha is main the sub is science and civil. Doesn't matter much in sandbox, however in Campaign mode ONLY main factions will own any stations.

Well, I enjoyed the previous game ASTROX: Hostile Space Excavation even though I was hoping for a bit more content or story it was still entertaining and really customizable. My biggest gripe about it was that it was so easy to customize but not all of the options really made sense until you saw them work in the game. You don't really know what the ore rarity means until you play with it on various settings. The descriptions on the tool tips are kinda vague. Once you have it down, though, you can make up a lot of different kinds of games and have a huge range of difficulty cures to play with. As for EVE Online, I really didn't like it.. I liked the beginning of the game, but then I ran into the time sings... like I need to wait a full month of my real life in order for a skill to advance... Dude, A game has to be pretty frigging spectacular for me to even be playing the same game a month later, let alone waiting a month of my real life in order for the next stage of my game life to advance. I certainly hope that this Imperium didn't adopt that part of EVE because I'd be returning it pretty damn fast if he did.

I can't wait for a developer to actually put a Chad faction in...

I played the game. Its offline EVE like everyone understands and its pretty well made considering. Howerver there is nothing to do really, no goal.

If you are looking for a sandbox space sim where you kill ships and collect loot, or even like mining, this a good game. despite advertisement, building doesn't benefit you and the mercenaries are broken,

I just started and I'm having trouble with the flight controls. Is there a manual tilt up/down anywhere or is the game expecting you to fly everywhere on autopilot?

I really hope the portraits are just placement holders for the current build
