With proprietary/non-standard components spare parts always are a problem, even if you can find those parts they are expensive because they are rare. They are essentially being scalped.

Would love to see motherboard swap in these. 4th gen is getting too old.
@optimallyobscureperformanc6264
That would be really tricky since the mobo has so weird/unique form factor. But maybe theoretically possible.

good job man but this cpu is bottlenecking the gpu ... i know that because i had the same sys specs

You had i5-4570R, a BGA-to-LGA cpu? Yes, the nature of bottlenecking is that it's always either CPU or GPU limited, question is how much bottlenecking is happening. It also changes depending on the game, for one game the same CPU/GPU combo might be perfectly balanced, while for another game CPU is bottlenecking GPU. This PC has a non-standard/proprietary motherboard, which means it is stuck to 4th gen CPUs anyway, so CPU cannot be upgraded much, also taking thermal limitations of this SFF PC into account. So this is probably a bit GPU-heavy config (as my builds maybe tend to be), but taking everything into account, i think it's still relatively well balanced and sensible combo.

@@optimallyobscureperformanc6264 How hard do you think it'd be to convert this case to use a mini-itx for latest gen cpu support. Was thinking about doing some case modding if its possible.

@@wenloco Not easy. Pcie slot is on the opposite side in itx (this board's layout is totally inverted compared to standard) and you would somehow need to route a pcie riser cable so that it isn't on the way of the cpu/exhaust fan. Don't know if that's possible.

@@optimallyobscureperformanc6264you’re probably right. I was thinking of mounting the motherboard with a bit of a gap behind it so I could route it behind the motherboard. But even if I do that I’m not sure it would run well since the addition of a PSU would add even more heat to a case that’s already bad with it. Who knows though maybe I’ll try it out one day if I get bored haha. Thanks.
