Bought this before 5-6 months ..so far I'm pretty happy with it. If your other specs are good.. u can play EVERY game and not all but for sure most of them on Ultra (max) settings. Ofc. there are also 1070, 1080 and before few days 1080 Ti ..but if u cant spend more money on them, then 1060 will do the job! With this 3 fans.. damn u can cool your card so damn fast using asus software/app on your desktop. So at all.. if u can't get 1070 or 1080 then this is the right choise for sure! Recommend.
gta v runs on medium-high 4k no problem if properly tuned. I have an i5 6500 which boosts only upto 3.6.. its insane an x60 card can do 4k...i wasn't even hoping to get 1440p out of this card.. no wonder nvidia is not releasing any new gpus
Taimoor Ali First time I assembled it its worked awfull thats when I noticed it was a little big and had to switch the hdd to another rack so the video card had room, now its working great, good fps everything on ultra. No noise and the average temp is around 40°
TrendList They won't do it because if they do that, at gtx 980 SLI will outperform 1070 and be touching 1080 (probably, not entirely sure on numbers) for a lower price if they lowered it.
Thanks for the review Tech Chap :) I've got this exact model Strix oc GTX 1060. The cooler used from Asus is the same one used on the higher end GTX 1070. Very well built and over cooled design making this a no brainier for people wanting to just "set it and forget it" performance. My gpu boost clocks are always over 2000 mhz all the time as well. With Asus's excellent cooler and power delivery, And Nvidia's new Pascal Tech... Its an amazing beast of a card for my 1080p gaming needs :)
I bought this a couple weeks ago, and I have to say that iv'e been very happy with it - but its all thanks to you're channel so thank you for the review!
This is *not* a 1060. It's a "1060 Ti", except some smartass in nvidia's marketing decided to name the 1060: 1060 3GB, and the 1060 Ti: 1060 6GB This is a 6GB card so it's actually a "1060 Ti" and not to be compared with 3GB 1060s
honestly, i bought this card after one of mine died and have been using it for a few months now and honestly the this card is great still it still offers great performance on a budget. fortnite med-epic settings - 90-120fps gta 5 high-max settings msaa x2 = 90-100fps minecraft = 800-1700 fps honestly i cant see myself upgrading until there are some new games i actually wanna play
Bartosz Proelio yes, you can’t really find any rx 480s or 580s on the market for a reasonable price. With the rx 560, I don’t think you’re getting as much horsepower. Right now, I would get the 1060. That’s just my opinion tho.
this card is $530 right now, i cannot find ANY other cards that perform like this that are slightly lower price, closest i could fin would be a 1650 for $450, which one should i get? (I plan on SUPERclocking my 1060 6gb)
Thoughts on the non-OC version? It's about $40 cheaper and was planning on OCing myself if that's the only difference between the cards. I'm also on a pretty tight budget :/
Yeah I'm thinking about the EVGA SC one too but there just isn't any in stock here. It also won't look as good as this thing in my case but I guess I don't really have the money to worry about looks haha
I bought the Zotac 1060 mini and wish I a had bought the EVGA SC too as the fan on the Zotac sounds like a turbine! It runs a little warm too but what does one expect from a mini card...
I am confused between a gtx1080 and rx480 crossfire.. Could you compare them both using the latest drivers on both,as m assuming driver support on AMD would be better after so many days of its release for crossfire... PS-along with frame rates also include frametimes on your benchmarks(they too matter a lot)
I've bought mine 1060 two weeks ago for about 340$(given that 1$ is 3.9 of my national currency). It's G1 Gaming 6GB. At the same time 1060 Strix OC costed near 397$. 1060 is a great card, nice overclocker with superb bang for the buck, but does some more factory OC and couple of visual features more compared to Gigabyte's one makes it worth to pay almost 60$ more? In my opinion not.
+The Tech Chap at the beginning I wanted to buy Strix, but seeing the prices even a week after it hit the market I knew it's not worth because, as you said, there would be too tiny money gap between Strix 1060, and cheapest 1070. Doing a mid(or mid-high) card in premium price is not a great idea IMO. Time, or rather selling results will tell if this approach made any sense.
2 questions is it okay to buy used and if i bought it my motherboard is a MSI B550-A PRO ATX AM4 Motherboard and my case is a Corsair 275R Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case. Would this product fit?
I bought this card, but I have gotten it to stable 120mhz oc over base. Is that good, or not so good? This is my first PC, so I'm still learning this stuff lol I used the EVGA PrecisionX OC to do it, maybe thats my problem? My reasoning is that it seems simpler to use than the ASUS program.
Hamzak not worth it mate either keep it or just upgrade to 1080 if u want 4k and 1070 for 1440p/4k. If u still gaming on 1080p keep the 970 at least 2 more years
Would going for an older 980 ti instead of this be a bad idea? Roughly the same price (alright, slightly more if buying new) but would come with similar performances to a 1070...
Got this the other day and I able to run most of my new games in 4k res with 50-60 FPS in max setting for watch dogs 2, rise of the tomb raider, and I can say its by far the best!! for your money. and its stays cool AF!! I play my game non OC and get 50C when I OC I get temps at 55 - 60 C MAX!! when using the 1080 or 1440 res this card is to beast running at more than 80-130 fps and that is with games that have no FPS cap. counter strike I play at 4K, Batman AK is max at 1440 game does not go up to 4K. Plus if your monitor supports Super Dynamic Res use it. I mainly got this cause I upgrade to a 4k monitor and my ld system could not run 4k at 60Hz. OH and virtually no noise the fans turn off while its stays under 45 C and even when they turn on its non existant
Hey man how its going ? Should this work on Fujitsu Siemens M470-2 Workstation ? I wanna play games on that pc but the card is QUADRO and it doesn't work well with games, so can I put this one on Workstation ?
How hot does it get in node 202 itx case - I believe thats the case you can see at the end of the video. I understand the blower type cooler are recommended to itx builds but strix is running much more cooler than the founders edition card and perhaps it will do well in small factor case?
The Tech Chap sorry my mistake I believe youre using raven/milo case which is htpc type and blower style cooler card is recommended too but how hot was the strix getting in this case once it was closed?
hi, i have a 2500k running stock do i have to overclock ?? bcz i want to buy a gtx1060 to upgrade my gpu and also a new monitor My second question about the monitor is what you suggest a 1080p144hz TN AOC g2770PF or a 1440p 60hz IPS Asus PB278QR ?? i am playing only The Division and gtx 1060 has about 60 fps on 1080p and 45 fps on 1440p in this game and if lower the ultra settings to high a little more fps on both resolutions sorry for long post thx in advance PS i made the same question in another video of yours
what is your opinion? ... 4770k @ 4,3Ghz and 1680x1050 resolution .. should i buy this card or should i save the money and wait for a new pc and new monitor ?
Sir if I got 6600K Maximus VIII Ranger and 16Gig of 3200 MHz ram then what would you prefer for perfect build? GTX 1060 Strix OC or MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X? note: I got 1080p display and I wont be going over 1080p but maybe gonna buy 144Hz Display and my main titles are GTA V DOTA CSGO and I wanna run smooth butter like 1080p ultra high preset
3:47 Why does everyone display their graphics cards like that? Doesn't the cause damage or create some sort of problem with continuous usage of that display method, later down the line?
So I'm ordering a i5 8600k and I'm looking for GPU, I'm trying to decide which is better, ASUS STRIX 1060 6gb or an ASUS STRIX RX 580 8gb. Any suggestion?
Hmm. I wonder what's the difference between a three fan card like this versus something tinier like an MSI Mini card of the same make, maybe a 1060 or 1070 just with less fans
The STRIX cards have a massive heatsink. My 1070 STRIX can go to about 58 C without the fans spinning. Past that they start spinning at a low RPM. Also the STRIX cards have a pretty nice PCB, I overclocked my card with a 200mhz offset, I can probably do more than that but I don't have time to do so. But all of this comes at a premium, you can decide if it's worth it. And something smaller, the card will get a little hotter, but it shouldn't get that hot.
idk if this is a stupid question... But i saw those led light's in the card right? Can it light in one color instead of switch between each other, if you know what i mean? :) sry for my bad english... :/
it is full rgb and you can customise it youreself. you can put it to 1 color and you can put it to color cycle and based on temperature. sorry for my bad english too, but i hope you understand
One question. I consider buying one of this card. And when u said that u need at least 2 gpu slots I got kinda scared... I want to buy this card with an Asus H110m mobo. Is it compatible or I should buy another mobo?
Hi is there a big difference beetween the OC version and the non OC ?. And if I overclock the non OC to the same clocks of the OC version can reach them with no problem ?
