that wont be for a while cause they would need to engineer it to have a dgpu that has adequate cooling enough to not mess up the screen on top, while also assuring it won't be heavy as heck, have abysmal battery life, and isn't ultra expensive.

This is a very interesting setup. The only difficult part would be finding a laptop case for this kind of setup.

I own it about two weeks now. Generally love it very much. Only minus for me is that battery in keyboard last only about an hour of working if iluminated. It is charging fast but there shuld be at least double size battery in keyboard. Too many times USB charging is needed.

For us artist dual screens with pen are definitely what we want. The advantage of being able to have a reference on one screen and sketching on the other is major. If the pen works anywhere near how well the Apple Pencil and Surface Pen work it is something I am in for.

7:33 I've seen three different laptop form factors and they all are unique which may need some extra polishing. The dual screens and the 360 degree 2 in 1 Form factors are special in their design and they will remain in the laptop market.

It's out of stock, I'm patiently waiting for it to be back in stock. I could have bought the ultra 7 version this morning but decided to wait for the Ultra 9 one. Hope it comes back in stock soon.

2:59 No idea why anyone would forget the keyboard at home when this laptop is literally designed to hold the keyboard in between both screens unlike the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i. If you close this laptop without the keyboard inside then you end up with an ugly gap that can compromise the structural integrity of the laptop as a whole. 😬

It is fast enough that i9 cpu? cuz i have galaxy book 2 with i5 and is sooooo slow, it made me want to buy my first apple product (macbook 3 pro).. but now im thinking on buy this one. Just wondering on how fast and fluid will that cpu work.

I’m still using my 1st-gen Zenbook Pro Duo and my personal feedback is that it’s now less convenient… It seems as though in order to access the 2nd monitor is only on a hard flat surfaces, and the annoyance of having to disassemble/reassemble. With the older model, I like how I’m able to just lift the screen and I’m ready to go. I work from home as a web developer and I like to work around the house - couch, bed, backyard. I was waiting for the release before I upgrade, but looks like I’m buying the 2023 model.

different opinion here, a full-size 2nd display lifted up to 40 degrees is totally a different experience.

I got this but not sure what I think about this. My work desktop has 3 monitors and it boosts my productivity a lot. If you travel alot, this might be worth it. Or if you use this as your main pc at home. But I work mostly from home and only travel maybe 3-4 times a year. This thing is quite heavy & thick. The 2nd screen is nice. It's there if you need it but it's such a waste of a nice OLED screen if we don't use it that much. I think I will be better off with a light weight laptop and a portable monitor. But the deal breaker for me is my unit's duo screens have different brightness & color profiles. 1 screen is warm while the other is cool. It hurts my OCD eyes.

Yeah, I agree. This is more for on the go productivity. About the color profiles: If you go into the MyAsus app, there's options to tune the displays separately.

A great laptop, i would buy, but i have 2 drawbacks. It cannot turn 360 degrees, sp the closest thing to tablet mode is the landscape mode and then it is rather large. The second objection would be the price. In europe it is expensive. Comparing it to the Lenovo Yoga Book Pro 9i , it still js a difficult choice

I changed the setting in the intel app to 10 bit colours and via also the integrated asus app to always stay at 120hz and connected the stylist via bluetooth making this an do it all device. But getting around 5 hours on battery with all settings to max in my ultra 7 i don't care lol

It should be fine, in theory. Both screens have gorilla glass, there's a huge heat spreader to avoid the processor heat degrading the lower OLED, and it uses an old fashioned hinge instead of any fancy folding screens or even 360 hinges. Of course in practice, it could have hidden flaws that we won't know about for months or years. But there's no indication yet that it should be any less durable than a normal clamshell.

You should test every laptop for screen wobble when using it as a traditional laptop on a flat surface or on your lap. That alone can be a deal breaker for many people.

@@bird271828 I have this. It's sturdy, robust and super-stable when the kickstand is deployed for dual-screen use. Also no screen wobble in when I type in traditional clamshell set or dual-screen set up.

I owned the Zenbook Duo 2020 and really like it! If the new Pro Duo have a full dual screen & dedicated graphic card, I think it's time to upgrade.

Lenovo has a speaker in between the screens and better GPU but downside on the keyboard. Im sure this year they are launching a better one this year.

Although the transition is rock solid, the visual is horrendous. It looks like something is going wrong. They should hold the transition until the full animation is complete.

I dunno, I kinda like the Duo 2023's form factor than that. Yeah, I get a proper 2nd screen, but I feel like, it will be under the keyboard most of the time, unlike the older Due that is a bit "in-your-face" that you are kinda "forced" to use it. xD

I have one. It's super versatile and is switched within seconds from clamshell to dual-screen. Since I've been using it I've spent about 95% of the time in dual-screen set up. Believe me, this isn't a case of "out of sight out of mind", the hidden monitor and how quickly it's deployed doesn't allow it.

The Lenovo Yogabook 9i can do that but it trades some other compromises vs this Asus Zenbook Duo. Example: You can't store the keyboard between the screens on the Lenovo.

I like this but I don't see a use case for me when considering the price. I recently got an Asus with a 14 inch oled screen for $499 and I bought the Wuawe portable monitor for $55 after coupon. It literally takes me just seconds to setup and now I have a 14 inch screen and a 15.6 inch screen. I can also position the monitors anyway I wish. The portable monitor takes little to no room at all in my backpack and my laptop powers the monitor. To be honest I'm not sure if I would ever use a dual screen setuo on a plane (just too cramped). I actually really like this new Zenbook duo but I don't think for $1500 vs the $555 price I paid justifies it considering for my use case I'm getting a very similar experience. Great review by the way. I've seen many on this laptop and yours is perhaps the best one yet!

Im leery of Asus now after buying two Vivobook Pro 16 OLED laptops and having them both overheat and shut down under load. Took them back and bought an MSI that is big and bulky. These high powered thin laptops cant cool the processor.

It's a little funny that there seems to be a new 'lets duo it!' advertisement uploaded every day or two, when the actual product has been out of stock for weeks. Maybe put a little less of the budget in marketing and a little more in manufacturing next time?

Try Amazon...just stay vigilant and keep refreshing. That's were I got mine. I caught a window when they were available and ordered one. Out of curiosity, immediately after ordering I checked again and they were out of stock. To follow up I called Asus to ask about their production schedule and learned that the units Amazon sells are purchased from Asus business division. After receiving it and while setting it up, I went into Control Panel> Programs and Features to delete the bloatware and was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't any! I don't know, but my thinking is that since it's from the business division and not the consumer division they don't load it up with bloatware.

Asus has really started moving like apple this year. This is the only device I see as a W and they were even manipulative with the price of this one, making the $1500 one have trash screens so you spend more. It should be illegal to create E waste just for the sake of manipulation!!

Ohhhhh sure. Cuz everybody can afford 2000€ upwards... I mean you are getting TWO screens. What are you expecting? This stuff is expensive. Look at Lenovo. They are doing their Joga Book 9i. It starts with 2500€, but has smaller screens and a weaker processor and less RAM. If you compare it with similar tech this is affordable.

A lower res screen and lower refresh rate means a longer battery life, and a lot of people honestly won't be able to tell the difference between 1200p and 1800p on a 14 inch display. But only giving the lower end model 16gb of ram, and then soldering it in, that irritates me. With how resource-hungry windows is these days that's gonna be barely enough to function for the next couple years, and a serious bottleneck if you want the machine to last.

10.5 hours of video playback on both screens, 13+ with one of them turned off, if you believe asus's test data. Not the top of the line for endurance, it won't be matching up to a macbook or a single screen zenbook with a modern processor. But it'll almost certainly outlast anything with a GPU, and most things with an Intel processor from more than a generation or two back.

I have one. It's not a battery killer. There's many ways to reduce battery use, it's has surprisingly good battery life considering its spec and capabilities. Also, when there's a wall plug available, it fun as hell to just plug in and use the full 120 refresh rate and full dual-screen brightness to get immersed in not giving a f*ck about the battery and just work like crazy! It's super quick and responsive. It's like having a high-powered car and not having to worry about the cost of premium fuel or its mileage to just go full out. Also, not gimmicky at all. Believe me, it's incredibly practical and intuitive to use. The dual-screen experience simply feels like an expanded dimension of the single-screen experience. Pretty incredible.
