How do you like the ASV for dirt work? Say versus a comparable size machine from Cat, Kubota, etc..

What is the fuel consumption of rt120?

Jon question if you don’t mind I recently looked at a machine like yours and I tried it out in the sales yard. From inside the machine I couldn’t hear the drive sprocket clatter was it because it was new or is it just that quiet inside? Salesman said the newer asv didn’t clatter as much yours sounds identical to my current rc 100. Bucket must seem tiny after carrying the mulcher around.

All ASV drive sprockets make clatter noise. It’s the roller inside of a roller positive drive. Mostly noticeable from outside the machine.

Cookies Services well, I work at the factory. I hear them daily coming off the assembly line. I hear them running on the test stand. Yes, they clatter. I also have done many pre-shipment operational functions tests. Barely noticeable inside the cab. It’s a small “price” you pay to have an internally positive drive system that you would have to totally neglect maintenance on to get a track derailment.

Hey man. I'm just wondering. That mini ex of yours, if I'm not mistaken is about a $65k machine with a cab (Am I right?). If you don't mind me asking, how do you justify that machine if you mainly just use it to make your mulching operation a little more efficient moving debris around? Honest question. Ive thought about buying one about that size myself many times.

WPOG84 Jon had stated before that you can feed mulcher so you have a controlled work area plus it wouldn’t be safe to work in the same area without a cab. Check out Vbelt and son they have a similar operation

@@cookiesservices4552 yeah I mentioned that in my question and that's actually why I asked it. Under average circumstances just feeding a mulcher will not justify a $65k machine. Like Jon, I would not charge by the hour for anything, but on that mini-ex, I would have to gross at least $200 per machine hour minimum for it to be worth it, especially on specialty work. At that rate, you cannot charge the combined price of hiring both machines for a forestry mulching job in most areas of the U.S. .... especially the South. Im guessing that he bought the mini ex to diversify and offer a variety of services and helping out the mulcher is just a plus of having it. I was asking him how he did that?
@cookiesservices4552
@cookiesservices4552 5 лет назад
Yeah I know he has said that he figured so much per hour but having a three man crew he must be figuring by the job or at least that’s how I would figure it. Some people don’t wannabe bothered with cost and just want it done. Doesn’t work that way for me tho

In my opinion, they go hand in hand, it's a team. We are 60-70% more efficient having the excavator, and that makes it worth it. I charge by the job, not by the hour.
