We've got a backyard to finish Grade. Problem is access. We've got little room to work. With a Window well & foundation on one side and a fence on the other- lets see what we can make happen.

While building my shop, my buddy left his ASV for me to use for a few months. Awesome machine. Easy to use, light on the ground, plenty of power. Much better than any other machine I have used.

I would be able to get a car in my backyard if the previous owner didn't build a deck onto the old driveway. Literally on it. It's a nice deck but still. I would rather be able to get car access to my garage

I love asv. I use to rent them in Michigan when I had my nursery landscape business. I've ran them all case, john deere, bobcat, new holland, takeuchi, jcb, I can move the most soil and grade with the asv.

We have 3 terex (asv) pt-80's with the same track system and absolutely love them there are alot of small jobs we dont even hurt the turf. Without using any plywood. Just wait till you get to use them on a steep grade or in sugar sand you will be amazed.

A neighbourhood i use to live in Winnipeg where i built a house in 2000, I had just over a 1/4 acre lot and it was a little piece of paradise, 41 acres behind me was farmland at one time and it had never been built on and was not farmed for 30/35 yrs, within 6 yrs City of Winnipeg approved a sub division on this land, they built a row of houses behind us and lot was 30x100 ft, just over 4 ft apart and they all had problems with leaky basements, shotty construction and they all paid over 250k for them, they called in a company to fix the issue and had some Cat like this ASV, much smaller that fit between the houses easily and the operator did a great job finishing the final grade and to this i have never seen one so small except on trailers, i guess you need small unit in the marketplace they build it and i guess all the companies do, awesome video Stan, always something new to learn and get to put to use sometimes

I just started doing lawns, so I went to my local dealership and looked around at toro, cub cadet, kubota, ex mark, Walker and ferris. I ended up going with the ferris is700z 52in deck. Love this mower and for the money and build quality it was in my opinion best bang for my buck.

Use a 2x4 to brace the window; play it safe. I have been grading for two years now, and I have never had problems with a collapsing window well. Loads of room. I once had to bucket 6 truck loads out of a backyard with less than an inch on either side of my bucket, I even had to carve under the gas meter so my track would fit below it lol. If you do sidewalks and find the need for a decent sidewalk machine/ and also find that you could use a mini for dirtworks, check out the pt-30 it is a versatile machine. keep up the cool work, whenever I do something new and I need to understand it, I watch your videos.

I think guys around here would have to experience one in person to believe what the ASV can do. Also the guys I have worked with are very price tag oriented so the price tag of the ASV might eliminate it from the options they would choose. I think the 120 hp forestry model is pretty cool. Basically a mower but for trees. I have always wanted get an opportunity to run something like this even if it were for a few minutes. Big machinery is so cool. I doubt I will ever get to run one though.

Himster ,yeh the 300 is nice too .We had the t300 and had alot if electrical issues but I think most of it was due to the machine always stored outside and accumulating water in the belly pan and not draining . For smaller machines I still like the 773 and the t190 .I had to replace final drives on the 190 once(pricey job). I like most of the Bobcat loaders but for some reason the 773 was the most reliable .

When you talk about hand controls on this machine - H Pattern & ISO available? I operate a case SR 150 with mechanical hand controls in H pattern, I custom ordered this machine in 2011 because I loved the case 1840 so much - I have about 100 hours operating with ISO and I just don’t like it as much for landscaping, I also prefer the older mechanical hand controls better as I can ‘feel’ the ground and the machine a lot more intuitively than I can with electronic joysticks. But I know a tracked machine would be great to have, and I would sure like the ASV if it has H pattern...
@trenton1880
@trenton1880 5 лет назад
We have an 1840 case very capable machine for it's size also love the H pattern over anything else. I know you can special order a Cat with H pattern not sure about other models tho.
@barrygreenstein2816
@barrygreenstein2816 9 месяцев назад
I to have an old 1840 case and am very comfortable with H pattern and find the ISO a bit awkward. You cannot beat the Case 1840 for reliability and sturdiness. I do like the asv because of the track system, smoother ride, and have a call into the local dealer. When I hear back from him, you gave me a good idea and asking him if you can custom order ASV with the H pattern.

been running this brand of machines for the last 3-4 years and i can say i honesty would never buy one, the track system is very touchy and needs to be adjusted regularly, if not the rubber lugs ( which aint reinforced with steel ) that the drive motor uses to rotate the track will chip and take big chunks of which means you need new tracks. the older models all had fixed seats with no shock absorption and only recently spring seats are in use with no option for an air ride seat, the bearings on the plastic bogey wheels will all need new bearings one after another at the 1 year mark and so you'll really feel it in your pocket for maintenance. worst of all the rt30 and rt50-60 have poor power and stall out half the time when doing any real digging, best thing i can say about them is they do have wide tracks and rt30 is well balanced and can climb slops/hills well, i wouldn't say the bigger machines are to the same standard for hills although they maybe better than most on the market on that regard
