I watched all of this guys ASVAB videos and just took the AFCT (ASVAB retest for prior service) and scored an 84 with a 121 GT. This is definitely the best ASVAB prep channel on RU-vid!
Im definitely prepping to the AFCT and been watching alot of the AR and MK videos. GT score is 103 and need a 110 or higher. Dantes.Peterson moduled is a good source to use to use also.
got a 98 for on GT. need a 105+ for recon. leaving for bootcamp in two days. 03xx contract for the marine corps. since i can’t volunteer for recon at soi with my current score ill have to take the afct after i hit the fleet and get more proficient in the pool. then ill hit up the screener. thank you for your service man 🇺🇸
I've been out of high school for 3 years and have not touched half this math in years, having this resource is amazing and thank you for putting it out
Wish I had a math teacher as good as this teacher. I'm able to completely understand what he's saying with no kind of struggling at all which is a talent.
Colfax Math, I’d like to thank you so much for your videos. I passed with GT 111 today and is on the way to commission as a 2LT in the army. It was all because I watched your videos. You made complicated concepts so easy. THANK YOU SMM!!!! I hope you know that your videos are appreciated :))) I hope your pillow is cold at night
Just wanted to say thank you very much for helping me get a good score on my ASVAB! I watched all your prep videos and they helped me get nearly 20 points above my projected score! I highly recommend this channel for anyone studying for the ASVAB! 👍👍
@@hollywoodclipp Yes! The problems he’s doing in the videos are very similar to the questions you’ll find on the test. I noticed MK had a lot of algebra questions.
@@johnnygage yeah cause I took the picat and I notice some same math problems so I wanted to know if the same AR WAS ON THERE AS well do you remember some of the questions you got any extra tips for me I take it on Thursday
@@hollywoodclipp Ah I see. I can’t remember any at the top of my head, tbh. It was a lot of stats questions involving fractions, traveling mph, square footage/finding area for AR and a lot of algebra equations, multiplying square roots/exponents, PEMDAS, etc for MK. Science is a lot of biology, physics, and chem. WK just study a lot of prefixes/suffixes and PC is pretty easy just a lot of reading. There’s lots of practice tests/study guides you can find online and ASVAB for Dummies is probably the best book that covers all the material. Get a good night’s sleep, stay focused, and you’ll do great! Best of luck to you! You got this! 👍
Some of these were hard to grasp at first but eventually I got it. Your videos did help me! I got a 72 overall and a 69 on my afqt. Was able to swear into the dep 2 days ago. Now I’m just waiting for a MOS to open up. Thank you!
@@johnslum8371 get the as an for dummies book and just do the practice tests over and over again. Then get a book about practice math problems and equations. That book really helped me with the fundamentals without a calculator
i love how he shows his work & explains how he got his answer. very easy to interpret & understand why he got that answer, and what he had did to come up with that answer. love this channel
Im so freaking exhausted.. ive been studying nonstop for IT certifications and this was in my recommended.. no clue why. But im just sitting here watching 😂
@@dominicsoto2385That seems a bit much, don't burn yourself out like that, my advice is study for 1-2 hours with 5-10 minute breaks every 20 minutes, just like your muscles your brain needs to rest too
Not gonna lie I felt mentally challenged with the second one and when I understood how simple it was.... I felt smart and dumb at the same time. Thanks
For question 4 I think there’s an easier way to do it where you set the equation up like, (93+89+96+98+X)/5 = 95, Then multiply 95 by 5 which equals 475 then subtract by 376 which equals 99. Great videos keep up the good work helping me study for the ASVAB.
Yoo they need to give you an award ! I’m talking my ASVAB this up coming Friday & the only portions I was concerned about was arithmetic & math ! But watching all your videos & taking notes I’m fully confident I love how you explained it & broke things down. A great refresher for me ❤
I appreciate you so much for sharing this information for free. Your tips and tricks are very helpful and is helping my mind with trying to study for my test again.
Good evening, I'm taking my ASVAB this Friday Feb 9 2024. I didn't do good in school but thanks for this video I'm learning even a little bit. I'll be back here and give you an update about my test this Friday. Feeling Nervous cuz I'm dumb as hell.
The problem I struggle with these word problems is determining what operation of math I need to use. It makes me waste so much time trying to figure it out and then I eventually have to guess to move on
@@ColfaxMath it was a joke i havent take my 2nd test yet Im currently at a 61 with no training b4 hand I am set to take the asvab today but my cousins is getting driveway done and i cant leave to the recruiter lol
I appreciate these videos a lot, i have never studied for anything before in my life except for the asvab and videos like these have been a great help. Im heading over to the MEPS station in boston this thursday wish me luck!
Great stuff, question: Question#8 is asking for a profit point, not the amount to cover the overhead. The answer 50,000 would only be the breakeven point. Please advise. Thank you, very helpful.
Going AF Special Forces PJ, in the military in Sept, and going to MEPS on Sunday, I studied your videos for a while and now I passed the long practice test ( 4 HRS ) the other day with a 66, thanks for everything, I can't even believe am here, it's fucking crazy. Never give up and fuck the haters. Btw how did you do question 4?
hi there sir - just for clarification, problem number 8 - would the answer be D ? since they are wanting to make a profit not break even ? awesome video btw!
so for the first question my steps would be to multiply 3.50 x 12 and i got the answer of $42, (im just studying and doing the work posting my answer to see if the way i did my steps are correct and proficient
I took my test two weeks ago got 6 and fail need atleast 4 weeks to study 😢I left school 20yrs ago really need to pass for the navy but the maths &the arithmetic reasoning is so complicated and confusing I dnt knw if I will ever pass😢
Your answer to question 8...50,000 will not make a profit. It will break even. The question was "make a profit" so answer D 60,000 should be correct...no?
@@ColfaxMath that's right...50k is break even, not a profit. The question is worded poorly and is what confuses many so that it would be missed. The question asked for "profit" and not "break even."
Alice is traveling 45 miles per hour, 30 minutes is half of one hour, so if she is going 45mph that means in 30 min she travels 22.5 miles or half of 45
Colfax math what would you recommend for someone like my self who doesn't have any math foundation to stand on im currently working to pass the asvab to be an Infantry man but im struggling
I have a playlist called foundations of math, work your way through that, maybe a video a day. Take notes, do problems as you work your way through. You can do it
@@ColfaxMath gochu. I took the practice test & failed by 11 points. I never understood arithmetic reasoning until I’ve watched your videos sir. Thank you. I take the test tomorrow. I missed 8 on the arithmetic section. So again thank you
How is the answer C for #7? One square yard is 9 feet. I’m so confused. I understand the whole 3 ft in a yard thing but I thought you’d need to divide by 9, not 3.
The units given are feet and you are asked for square yards. Three feet equal one yard. After you divide the lengths by three and multiply them you get approximately 30 yards times the amount
Got a 16 today i really wanna join so i'm just gonna try to work on my math and English. Sadly i have forgotten basically everything from high school but i will my best to pass the next test just gotta study hard and smart.
@@pikarick1953 Not yet still got two weeks before i vsn take it again, gonna try studying the math and English section but i think I'll be alright doesn't matter how much you fail, just don't give up. I wish you good luck my man i'm sure you can do it.
It was just an approximation. I rounded the 3.5 up to 4 so I could multiply it in my head, then looked at the possible choices and saw that there was only one answer that was close.
If Alice drove R=45 mph , T=3 hours, D=R.T, D=135, Dave have to drive at the same distance to catch Alice . So D=135 , his time : T=3h- 0.5 h(30min)=2.5 h .To found his speed, R=D/T, R=135/2.5, R=54mph
By the time her husband has caught up to her, she had traveled 157.5 mi. (45 mi x 3.5 hrs) The husband must travel that same distance in 3 hours. 157.5 mi/3 = 52.5 mph
im sorry but this makes no sense for me i NEED an explanation of why for everything or else i dont understand, i cant even figure out what function to use after reading certain word problems like why did you yse that function yk? ugh my hopes are so low
