If, on a trip to Ireland, I lost my passport I would be returned to my country of origin where I would be subjected to the £85 cost of replacement before I would be considered for travel in Ireland. Australia sorted this problem out. Asylum's seekers who claimed to have lost their passport were required to verify their identity by answering a series of detailed questions; questions for which they were unprepared and it caught them out. For instance, they were asked to describe their "claimed" home town in detail, who were their friends, and what where their phone numbers, etc, etc.

Thank you both for talking about this issue. I'm worried for my own future as an Irish person because of the amount of immigration heading our way and too many of them are in my country. It's quiet simple, scan all passports of those on flights coming into Ireland prior to departure, and send these to the destination airport prior to arrival. Anyone who then claims they have lost their passports can be sent on the next flight back to their country of origin/where they have flown in from!

If an immigrant group can put pressure on the authorities to take down the Christmas crib from Saint Stephen's green because it "discriminates' against them, what other things are they going to be demanding in the future? I've seen passports ripped up in the bathrooms in planes. Once they're landed it seems the target country won't send them back. To board the plane you need the passport, seems easy enough to sort out. And at the border they always show up without papers here too in Canada.

The vast majority of native born irish citizens don't need or want asylum seekers here but don't what to be seen standing up for what they believe in for fear they will be ridiculed. The Irish government that were not voted in by the people are importing in foreigners that they don't have any information on their background. Why don't those asylum seeker's end up in countries that need to be populated thanks we have more than enough.
