Ireland plans to return asylum seekers to the UK under new emergency laws | ITV News

Irish premier Simon Harris has said that Ireland won’t “provide a loophole for anybody else’s migration challenges”.
He was speaking after UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said claims that the UK’s Rwanda plan is causing an increase in migration to Ireland shows its deterrent effect is working.
The Irish Government has said there has been a shift in migration patterns into Ireland in recent months and that the number of migrants crossing from Northern Ireland was now “higher than 80%”.
Legislation is to be introduced next week in response to an Irish High Court ruling that Ireland’s designation of the UK as a “safe third country” for returning asylum seekers, in the context of the Rwanda plan, is contrary to EU law.

The riot was caused by two things and two things only. 1. Blue collars are badly educated and easily led. 2. The Irish government is and always has been made up of bogtrotters on the make. A mental patient off his meds attacked the kids outside their school at home time. Bust footpath in city centre. I live locally and know what I'm talking about. Its worse than that: he attacked 3 children and 2 women, seriously injuring all 5 - it turns out he was supposed to be deported (here illegally) 15 years ago but then an NGO intervened and he was granted a full Irish passport. He's been on benefits ever since. I believe it was the current Irish PM whose dept. granted the passport back then, possibly for a sizeable bribe. The Irish governemnt and media are doing everything they can to cover this and other murders and beheadings that have taken place in Ireland at the hands of "immigrants" from the Middle East.

The correct action is returning the illegals to France or whatever their home country is. If the Channel was actually patrolled then they wouldn't get ashore in the first place. With the rail the illegals can be sent straight to Paris or Brussels and it's about time the British started fining the EU for failing to keep these illegals from crossing the Channel.

Many of these refugees entered the EU illegally, not all, and have been bounced from one jurisdiction to the next. Im guessing here, most will have arrived in Greece, and Italy both front line countries in the Mediterranean, and now many are at the end of the road, the last EU country , the furthest west they can go. The CTA these folks are taking advantage of, only applies to UK and Irish citizens, so the migrants are taking advantage of systems not designed or intended for such use. What Ireland needs to do , is a version of what Australia is doing. There are dozens of uninhibited islands off the Irish coasts. Build temporary housing to accommodate these ppl. Then interview them one by one. Establish who they are . Then , those that do not meet the criteria of international treaties Ireland has signed up to, need to be repatriated to those countries, or another country that will accept them. I can see the UKs position here, and also Ireland's. Maybe the UN can create a new territory somewhere in the world, where stateless ppl can go. No developed country can handle a big influx of refugees from failed states. The welfare systems aren't funded by magic, it's taxpayer contributions over decades. IMO, this has less to do with EU agreements and more to do with UN treaties, as these folk are not originating innthe EU.

Dare I suggest Saudi Arabia?

@joemdee Why not? Loads of space. Tons of money. Share similar values. Would fit in great. Could help the Saudis build that line in the desert they are working on.

Ireland signed up to the Un and ECHR and they can claim asylum where ever they like, enjoy Ireland, no borders and freedom of movement is what you wanted

According to the Law. Ireland can return migrants to the country they came from. Its up to the UK to return them to France, only if they claimed asylum in France.

@@garyg6379 Ireland didn't want to put borders up and now enjoy that decision. EU is 15 trillion so not nearly 20 trillion. Means nothing since the EU can't control their borders. But hey maybe saying the EU is worth 20 trillion will stop them coming to Ireland, right? 😂😂😂

So if they are allowed to travel to the UK they must be allowed into Ireland if that is where they want to go
@FronteirWolf
@FronteirWolf 16 дней назад
If they go to Ireland they should be notified that they have lost their asylum case in the UK and can appeal. Ireland can send them straight back to Britain, where they can appeal. If they leave a second time, they will be informed that they have lost their case for asylum and there are no appeals. They will be sent straight back to the UK, where they will be detained and then deported.

@@FronteirWolfWhy? Many are failed Asylum seekers elsewhere in Europe. UK is not in the Dublin Agreement hence France says they will not take them back. There is no agreement for illegals between UK and Ireland. However Ireland can send them back to the first EU country they entered. Simples. Not UK's problem.

Ireland can't return them, part of being an EU member is open borders. That could effect their membership if they start turning people away plus these people don't feel safe in the UK with the Rwanda bill, doesn't that violate their human rights? That's their excuse for not being able to go home. Being an EU member Ireland has the right to send them to another EU country if they choose, France in this case.
