Thank you miss Matsumae. Your music was literally my lullaby in my childhood years. It's akin to listening to a mother's song whenever I listen to the Megaman 1 soundtrack. Sorry if that sounds corny, but your music will stay with me all time.

The fact that she might have used that piano to compose the music for Mega Man 1 is really cool! :)

Matsumae san, Megaman 3 has been with me for many, many years. From time to time, especially when used to go out (before the pandemic), I put its music score to play in my brain then in the computer with output to my old Hitachi casette recorder.

Simple and easy to remember, I wish other game composers would take that to heart.

There's a difference between simple and dumbed down. Simple yet sophisticated is far more challenging than making just technical music. Not enough composers these days really strive for simple, memorable music. It's either grande and boisterous, or completely forgettable.

Thank you for the passion you bring to music! I think that the older games often have the most catchy music. Thank you for your contributions.

My deepest respect and affection for Manami, as well as all the people who created the soundtrack to the game franchise that changed my life. I can't wait to hear the rest of her work for Mighty No. 9!

The theme has so many aspects to it, I hope the storyline wraps around it really well (and vica versa).

Is it weird that I'm feeling nostalgia for this game even though it's not even out yet? It's like it's been part of my life for a long time, and I'm just now realizing it.

Lovely! This is wonderful. It is such a pleasure to see and hear an interview with such a lovely person! It is so appropriate that after all these years the same lady who composed Mega Man 1 should compose Mighty Number 9 :D. I feel like I'd like to meet Matusmae-san in person- she seems very nice :D. Also- that was very interesting about the inspiration for the music; I try to do the same sort of thing in my own humble efforts; good to know an experienced pro has this method :D

I agree ~ companies usually keep everything entirely secret ~ all we know usually is what's in the game as the final end product. The world is really seeing into this industry for the first time. We've already heard and seen more from Inafune then we have in the past decade!

I didn't "believe" in kickstarter until this project. Fans supporting a concept enough to fund it in 2 days? That's what kickstarter site was made for. I can't contribute, but I'm amazed to see the progress this has made, and I hope this is released for next-gen consoles.

My eyes hurt from reading the text in light yellow against such light environments, consider if not a border, some "drop shadow" effect on future productions. It's not as beautiful as a pure colored text, but readability should be priority. Great video, guys, keep the great work bringing these documentaries for us. Highly appreciated.

Mighty No. 9 may have turned out to be a barely-playable stinker of a game, but Manami is a wonderful composer and her Mega Man 1 tunes (as well as her Shovel Knight contributions) are still forever burned into my memory.

I'm more interested in the Capcom era - just listen to the majestic filmatic score in Mercs arcade - because then it was a matter of simplicity, taking out the most from the tech available, and that, I think, is what makes modern games far less memorable and respectable.

oh definitely. don't forget that the limitations in technology encouraged (or even forced) creativity. how can a four channel NES chiptune be composed better than 50 piece symphony? because with unlimited resources comes unoriginality and blandness.
