That principal is one tough, brave, and compassionate woman. I grew up in public schools and know that every school has its problems, no matter what what race is predominant there.
If she was "tough" and "brave" she'd be knocking on the doors of the fight starter hellions and calling out their deadbeat loser parents. If she was "tough" and "brave" her lunch period would be peaceful as a Sunday morning.

idk the full spectrum of stuff here, but i live in philly and no kids in philly want to go here. most people who go here have no choice and it’s probably their neighborhood school, and of today, there’s only 170 students in the whole school. but a lot of it is the same. there was a high school fair the past week, and strawberry mansion had a table, and a girl looked over and went “why strawberry mansion here, that’s like every ghetto 80’s movie in a school”. the table was empty all night. if you want more on their stats, just look up strawberry mansion philasd.
Coming from Jersey...and then seeing a security system and not being able to have your phone and ect hell yeah I'm glad I transfered myself so dam fast being an honor to student it wasn't no need for me to even stay

My school is known for gang activity more so compared to other schools in the area back in the 80s. Now it's okay and the running joke is that we haven't had a drive-by in years. Each of the high schools had their own reputation; one was poor, the other one had rich kids, the other one was the drug dealer school and mine was the gang banger School. But while I was there the worst that happened was a couple of liquor store robberies across the street, shots fired, and going into lockdown. We could hear the shots from the classroom.
This is whatt blacks r ralking about when they say people dont even understand.... They dont even know what they dont know.....if it wasnt for my illness i would be starving or dead..severly malnurished..isnt it sad when an illness is what makes ur life sorta better

I don't know why, but I get very motivated to do better in school by this video. Maybe it's because of the situation there being so bad that I realize I can be good? It's weird, but I like this mini-series.
@bob builder they cant, you dont see the living situation they are in. And the neighborhood. Its the community that needs it to do better. It's the kid's growing without another parent figure and that one parent figure is money not being brought in through they're living situation. Dont always blame the kids when they are going through stuff like this

I feel bad for many of the kids that are willing to learn at that school. My school isn't nearly one of the worse, but I personally am scared to go to school. I'm afraid of being a victim of something big. I've been bullied since elementary school, I just started 8th grade today. It's still going on. Someone even scratched my neck, and attempted to push me down the stairs. Bad news? She wasn't caught and nothing happened. Why? There was no cameras. There was still evidence. A broken binder, scratches on my neck. Still, nothing happened. Luckily after this year I'm going to a highschool that will be safe and more career/college-driven.
People in these comments are so disgraceful. It doesn't matter that they are black, you wonder why these kids are the way they are when everyone around them is telling them how shit they are and how much they will fail in life. You get told that enough every day then you will start to believe in it yourself.

I watched this video before my 11th grade english teacher showed his class this video. This video made a tough looking guy whose name is kristopher with a k, made him thankful that he goes to Plano West Senior High School in Plano,Texas. I'm proud of him for saying that. Plano West Senior HIgh School is one of the best high schools in this country according to newsweek, at least in public school terms.
This principal is one of the nicest people I’ve seen on RU-vid. She willing to get herself hurt or even killed for the students she loves, that’s heartwarming.
This school urgently need a music teacher, a drama teacher, a dance teacher and a sports teacher.. otherwise it will remain a mayhem. The kids energy HAS to be vented through physical exercise, separate dance and separate exercise drills will heavily improve mental health relaxing the crazy teen mind and pacifying it with music and drama.

Honestly prince it is...i went to a school just like this..a continueation school...every day we got searched...10 cops always on campus..1-4 fights every day...weve had 5 guns on campus last year...but at the end of the day..you learn how to meet the people that arnt there to be thugs and gangmembers..u meet people who are out there begging for help to graduate...im not poor..i was kicked out of my old highschool..but i enjoyed it..i graduated and walked with one of the best kids out there that i can call my friends..
For god sak it has nothing to do with the fact that they are black. Why is anyone focusing on that anyway? Bless those poor children, espcially the ones who wish to do something with their lives.
