The only way to have a fair dunk contest is to have people exactly the same height. You can’t have a six two guy Duncan against a 66 68 or 610 Guy has that does not equal Mac McClung easily won this contest and there’s no heat or shade towards Jaylen Brown. He’s also fantastic.
These judges were so bad seriously. Kenny & Reggie should be judges. “Give them 90 seconds for what reason?” Judge each dunk itself. Good call Kenny. The judges gave Jayeln high scores for basic dunks. McClung should’ve won by a mile.
Kenny said “55” it’s like 46, which is still world class, but 55 would put his whole head above the rim, and there’s dudes with a sub 40” vertical that can clear a 7 footer with a somewhat discrete push off
Copy and paste: McClung stands at just 6'2" but had a measured vertical leap of 43.5 inches at the NBA G League Draft Combine. It's among the top 10 in draft combine history, including the NBA.
McCung deserved to win but his first dunk was a 50 dunk. His last dunk was about a 49 dunk but the judges knew they screwed up the scoring on his first one.
@@TGun7 just google professional dunkers numbskull. 6'1 professional dunker Jordan Kilganon and its a list of professional that tries to make a living off being creative dunkers
Okay if Mac wouldn't have won I would have lost my mind. Wow, that was some of the worst dunk judging ever. So inconsistent. First off, Toppin should have been in the finals, not Jaylen. I used to model all of my dunks after Dominique when I was in high school, but damn, he was a much better dunker than judge. But also, Kenny Smith, you're losing it too lol! Trying to say that Mac doing a windmill over two people stacked is the same as Jaylen doing a 360 windmill? Not the same dunk my dude, and you didn't have to say it 30 times. Bravo to Mac, the only one really bringing any real excitement to the contest lately since Zach and Gordon.
What do yall want from these guys they are ball players no pro dunkers a big difference between even vince Carter and Michael Jordan against the like of kilganon and staples we know who has the star power but we know who the better 2 dunkers are
So the officiating is so bad this year it's now spread into the dunk contest 🤦 and why hasn't anyone brought Mac up for an actual season in the league? Why is he stuck in the G league. But let's all crap our pants that Wemby wants to do the dunk contest and participate in the 3 point contest.. 🤦 exactly why watching any NBA game is not worth anyone's time anymore.
A) You gotta think of a creative dunk B) You gotta practice before the dunk contest C) You gotta make the dunk first time. If you don't, choose a different dunk.
@@King_SPL Why is it too harsh? You have one time to make a first impression. That's the nature of this contest. That's why I said if you fail the first time on a dunk, try a different dunk
Hear hear! NO MISSES, it's a DUNK! Like you said, practice over and over and get it right, OR DON'T DO IT at all. You could also have a 3-point penalty for the miss?
What Mac performed better last year, jaylen didnt do bad consodering it was his first appearance. But i expected more creative dunks and better dunks from Mac.
I've seen mac do better dunks but at the same time what can these guys do that hasn't been done I've watched mac post videos of himself recreating Jordan kilganon dunks but I've seen kilganon do dunks that nothing but 50s
After Winning #2 Dunk Contest Mac McClung Should be instantly Signed As A NBA STARTING POINT GUARD For A NBA Team As soon As Possible To let him Go Back To The G League & Disappear Again is Not A Good Look For The NBA PLEASE GIVE THIS PLAYER HIS PROPS 👌☺️
I love that it's the Julius Erving award. He is the king of the creative dunking. WARNING: LENGTHY STORIES BELOW, don't read it, and then tell me you think I'm an idiot who writes too much. JUST STOP HERE if you don't want to hear my basketball memories :) A fun story (If any older basketball fans care to hear) that I remember is being a kid and seeing what a Dr. J is. Here's the story. We only had 3 VHF channels to choose from, ABC, CBS or NBC, on one of those networks the man who handled the Sports was announcing that the ABA was joining the NBA. The ABA is what you have always been watching. The NBA was extremely boring compared to what the ABA was all about. The ABA had the red white and blue basketballs, they were dunking and flying and entertaining the fans at any cost. So the Sports guy says, and look what we get to look forward to. He then shows the Doctor doing a flying 360 dunk. He showed it , then showed it two more times in slow motion BECAUSE the viewers had no idea what they just saw. WE HAD NEVER SEEN ANYTHING REMOTELY CLOSE to a Dr.J. It was like watching a real superhuman. I have lots of great memories like that. My older brother called me (he was out of the house at that time, there's an 8-year difference in age between us, he was always checking in on my basketball progress and always motivating me. He called me on the rotary phone and told me to turn to UHF CHANNEL 14, black and white channel, rabbit ears (antenna) adjusted, horrible reception, but he had me watch this high school kid named Erving Johnson. That was another, what in the world am I watching? And another time, he took me to a Central Michigan vs Indiana game, at Central Michigan. We sat behind the bucket, and he took me there to witness a college kid named Larry Bird. At the opposite end of the court we were sitting at, Larry would hit shots so precisely that the ball would hit with such laser precision the net would pop, so loud, (NOT A SWISH, A CRACK) and we could hear the crack from the other end of the court. I don't even know if he missed a shot that night (I'm sure he missed several but I don't remember the misses). Indiana won by 30+. And one more memory to share for those interested, we played the side courts at Central Michigan, and one day we were graced with the amazing DIRK DUNBAR, look that guy up. He could shoot like Larry, unfortunately, he had so many knee injuries, both knees bound up with heavy braces, he couldn't run much faster than he could walk, he played overseas when his knees were good. Anyway, Dirk Dunbar was top five best shooters I've ever witnessed. I'm talking 30 ft, on the side courts he'd shoot a step or two over the half-court line. And it ripped the net, it didn't just go in, it wasn't a little bit off, had the nets been the same as the main court, I'm sure it would have been cracking the net like Larry did.
Jamesmurray, Hey Mc Clung, is not a big guy and for his Size his Leaping and Creativity and Finese and Hang-time Dunking Reminds me a little of Vince Carter, Like Vince Carter use to say when he use to Compete in the Slam--Dunks, Mc Clung when he Dunks------( IT,S OVER )
Dunk contest now a days are hit or miss, some ar ehorrible and some have a few decent dunks, but they really need to put more into it. Instead of just having guys come out with no idea or at least no real ideal. Give them 5 million dollars so they actually try and do something and maybe practice, Not much, Ive seen MJ when I was a kid, all through late 80, w Nique, Spud Webb, Vincanity in early 2ks, I mean these suck. IMO... Glad a short white dude won it tho
daaaaamn this mcclung can fly and he's white! how tall is he??????????? like 6 foot!!!! his head was at about hoop level!!!!! his vertical is waaaaaaay over 40 inch!!!!!!!!!!!
There's judges tried their damn hardest to not let mac repeat.. how the hell they only gave that dude a 46 on that self reverse dunk was just b*******.RLTW 3/75
What the hell was that? This is basketball? What kond of electronic narcomania is that piece of....?? It is dawnfall of anything that normal human being can associate with normalness
I bet these scores were given remotely seeing as its on a screen. NBA trying control the show cuz we cant have another bad dunk competition. Some of these scores were obsurd 😵💫.
let this man play in the actual NBA man. what the hell. dude winning dunk contests but aint played real time for any team really. Give Mac a snack and let this dude eat!
Those led screens for a floor is so distracting its like you are playing on top of your tv screen, its so corny it makes the game of basketball look like slam ball
