For everyday I'm the exact same as you when it comes to grooming. Curry comb and a hard brush, soft brush if I'm really trying haha 😂 I have a fell pony (native British breed) that has a lot of mane and tail so a really sturdy mane brush is in the everyday routine and honestly if I don't do her tail daily then oh my goodness does she go from unicorn to swamp donkey really quick! X
I always use a stiff brush and a soft brush because I find that the horses are a bit less dusty. The stiff brush flips off the dirt and sand but the soft brush is nice for taking the fine dust off. I have a hoof pick with a brush and a steel brush on it for horses that have horse shoes and have stuff sticking on them.
Tip: If you like natural fly spray for your horses or if your horses are very sensitive you can let a few mint leaves soak in white vinegar for at least 24 hours, then you can use the minty vinegar as fly spray! It works GREAT!
That rubber curry you can attach a hose to is the bomb! I had a practice as an equine massage therapist, and I found horses loved that oval-shaped rubber curry. It was like grooming and massage in one. Also, regarding hoof treatments mentioned here, I wrote this article for the FEI last summer, in which a top vet talks about hoof protection for climate extremes: www.fei.org/stories/get-your-horse-summer-ready-part-ii. Nice video! I can't resist all those bright colors either!
This is the order I use brushes: 1. Curry Comb 2. Dandy Brush 3. Body Brush 4. Face Brush 5. Mane & Tail Brush 6. Hoof Pic 7. Pic Brush 8. Fly Spray And I sometimes groom him after a wash ride so 9. Fly Mask
I have a (now stale) horse treat sitting on the dash of my truck that I forgot to give to one of my babies after it rode around in my pocket for a day or two. So I can totally relate to horse treat in the car 🤣
my suggestions(just my opinions and things I have tried and loved): hands on gromming gloves, good for caked on mud, or deshedding I have replaced my rugular curry for this. Endure fly spray this is the only fly spray that works for me, tried everything no natural one works forme so just went for the pestiside and works wonders and water based too! HOOF AND HEAL the one shown in the video ahhh THIS is a miracle worker my horses hoofs were trash and doesent help that my farrier is trash too (sorry) i had to use a rasp every day constant britle craked and just unhealthy hoofs now they are amazing like next level great!!!!!!!!!!!!
