It was really close in the battle, but Ata killed him in that OT. He was just so explosive and put so many original twists on his moves in the added time. It's debatable whether it should have gone to OT, but it did and the OT definitely was won by the right guy.
ok... here I go again, I see a lot of you saying that Ata's got nothing special and saying differ owned him. This was a close battle, no one got over killed. Honestly, I never even heard of Ata before till this video, and i gotta say, not many bboys got such a clean flow of movements and musicality. Listen carefully to the beats while he's dancing. Bboying is not just about techniques and catchy blowups. It's about expression. I still think differ took the tie breaker though....
i guess the judges thought ata's dancing fit the music better ... thats the only reason i can think of why they didnt give it to differ, cos i thought he took the 1st and 3rd rounds comfortably
Although differ had more sophisticated moves, his sets were too short (the second, and third set). His first set was good except for the part that he cut his flow in the middle. I think that's why judges wanted a tie breaker and I totally respect that. BUT differ definitely took the last round (the tie breaker).
Differ is murdering beats with just his facial expressions! ata's sets sure are intricate but they lack something; differ shoulda taken the battle w/o the tiebreaker imo, hes just so much more explosive and fun to watch. Ata did take the tiebreaker tho.
in the other hand, Ata had such a clean flow and quite impressive beat hitting. Tie breaker was definitely necessary... but as i said, differ shoud've won the tie breaker
I can definitely see why ATA won... but does anyone think that TIP crew might of wanted Differ to lose so that he wouldn't get to far in to a jam that his crew his hosting (it might look weird)
Ata is one of the special bboys who looks terrible if you don't understand style and his musicality. "He has no energy." "He's slow." "Not enough power." Whatever, listen to the beat while he dances. Dope battle from both bboys.
My point is that, Ata is an amazing bboy. If you don't think Ata is good, you are just blinded by fancy and catchy moves. Learn the history and foundation of hiphop and u'll see what i mean
Differ is amazing, there's no doubt about it. As the matter of fact, I already mentioned myself that differ should've taken the tie breaker. BUT this is not the point. My comment is not to judge who's better. I'm just trying to point out that Ata is an amazing bboy with strong foundational skills. Believe me, I'm one of the biggest fan of differ, but Ata deserves much more respect. I see lots of people saying that Ata's got nothing special, but trust me, he's got all the fundamentals of hiphop
errr i wasn't comparing ata to differ, i was just replying to someone who thought ata wasn't even that good... and sure differ is also ONE of the freshest on the scene, real original but to be blind to ata's skill is just wack
haha idk i thought it was close, but differ lost the tiebreaker so ata won. Ya differ was solid the 3 rounds, but Ata wasn't that bad either, so i guess to make sure they chose a tiebreak.
watching again i think ata slightly won without tiebreaker... i mean, he won 1st round, lost 2nd, and third for me he slightly won... differ was doing like robot sets... his moves were dope, but his dancing wasn't good compared to ata's... in tiebreaker ata clearly took it. pz
i respect ata's style . but random pauses at :34 and :42 he tried to hit the beat and failed . while differ was on beat the whole time 1:27, 2:11, 2:13-2:14, 4:10 . ata's toprock is crap and what was 1:55-1:56? i think ata took the tie breaker . but what was the tie breaker for if differ clearly won the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round Differ should have won
haha chill dude =] i guess i havent been around long enough then and obviously the judges chose him for a reason...i just wanted to kno why and it seems like u've been bboying a very long time to kno so much about it y dont u show me ur skills?
