Reminds me of the good old days on Rorona plus. When they removed the paying for bodyguards mechanic in totori, Rorona complained to sterk that he's working for her for free but he made rorona pay everytime they went out.
I finally found the series that i think of when atilar name is mentioned. The game is Mana Khemia: Student Alliance. It plays the same way i like how the items i craft are what i use to unlock my skill tree. Wish Mana Khemia was big here i would liked to play more.
Mana khemia is atelier game, but mana khemia is more like traditional jprg rather than traditional ateliers game. The closest one in term of combat alone would be atelier shallie, lydie and suelle and maybe Sophie 2, however theyre more like traditional atelier game where crafting is actually important and useful
Mana Khemia is technically considered as an “Atelier” game, but like the other person said, the gameplay is more like a traditional RPG and it’s set in a school. I love Mana Khemia and I’m hoping for ports/reboots soon.
Thank you for the review, I’m so glad a new Atelier is coming globally to international fans who didn’t get to play the original game. I’m so excited to play the game, so glad the Atelier series is doing well.
I think you should have emphasised the fact that there are a TON of character events and endings, and the game is definitely designed for replays. I see a lot of comments trashing the 6-10 hour playtime- it was actually quite refreshing for me compared to most ridiculously long RPGs nowadays. Just because something is a little more basic doesn’t mean it’s not worth playing. To platinum this game, you’ll have to invest a lot of time and it’s still a lot of fun, even though super basic
Marie is a gorgeous and charming heroine. The game is very enjoyable, pleasant and entertaining. This game also made other Atelier games a reality. Respect your elders ! I have preordered it day one and I have no regrets.I have platinumed it in 5 days.
Their is but most players will likely NOT play in that mode I'm NOT most players so I'll play the game on Unlimited mode BUT if the game also has Easy to Hard mode for ENEMY stats in battles I'll still set it to EASY mode IF you CAN.
tbh, without the time limit this series became completely no-difficulty stress free, as there was no longer any opportunity cost considerations stopping you from just going out to the field and farming shitloads of stuff to make your loadout as broken as possible. Back in the day you had to balance keeping your stuff up to date on top of actually meeting production deadlines and keeping the plot going. I mean, veghesther wants to play without the time limit, that already tells you how easy it would be.
I LIKE it that way that's why Mana Khemia 2 PS2 2008 was the last game I played and its the LAST Alchemy based game TO be VOICED in English the 2010 onwards Atelier games including Marie's Remake are only in ENGLISH TEXT Japanese only Voice acting in them.
It is a blast from the past but the early games were rough. I don’t think anyone enjoyed renting party members. I certainly enjoy knowing people will see the roots of a fantastic series. If the developers are in a nostalgic mood then there are a bunch of the party rpgs that are not on digital storefronts.
Oh my god yes they were rough, theyre intimidating even in rorona. I played marie few months ago and IT IS ROUGH, but the game is short and simple as hell, i believe i kick maou ass in less than 5 hours and that was my 2nd playthrough blind run, pretty easy too lol.
A nice game, but it’s overpriced because it’s chibi and short. They could make a remake collection with more than one game or just make the game cheaper
Thank you for this review, I am going to remove the game from my wishlist on Steam. I hate time limits. I had hoped they were giving a non time limit option.
@@musicmangd Even if there wasn't, it's an EXTREMELY lenient one. Even if you spend a lot of time doing nothing, you can still do everything and still have over a year left. Basically it's almost like the "time" mechanic (which is day by day like persona, its' not like real time) is there just to give events on certain days and encourage replayability. You also have to consider that since it's NEVER the mechanic but how it's implemented, games like potionomics or Persona just wouldn't work the same without having a time management, 9 times out of 10 a person that doesn't understand this is a very young kid that doesn't have that perspective yet so it's possible Op still need others explaining this.
@@dondrake8443i think it’s a bit uncalled for to call a someone a young kid (regardless if they are or not) just because they don’t like time limits. And even if it’s extremely lenient, it doesn’t mean they have to like it either way. Some people just want to go at their own pace because they like exploring every corner or just not have a restriction at all. Everyone has their own game preferences and they’re allowed to dislike something without being called a child for disliking it. And this is speaking from someone who played and enjoyed both time limits in Arland (as well as played Persona games) and non-time limits in the Mysterious and Secret series.
This game is overpriced because it's a 10h remake of a simple game = understandable This game is overpriced because it uses an artstyle that closely resembles the original = very stupid take, you can see the amount of detail the models and the environments have up close and...they show it's a normal game so giving less value to the proportions is the dumbest take you can have on the subject.
You people in the comments live boring lives if all you care about is game length and quantity and instead of quality I’d paid 200 dollars a short memorable everlasting experience that’d make an impact in my life then stupid filler game
You must be very well off then Gaming is a luxury for most of us so we arent going to spend near AAA price for a short game with 0 replayability when the games in the same series offer more content at a lower price
Exactly forget these ppl. I bought it, I think it looks great and fun and I love the art style. Besides not every game needs to be 250 hours long. I beat every mainline AC game there is (not counting Rogue) but once Origins came out I stopped. I still haven't beaten Origins, Odyssey or Valhalla. Why? BECAUSE THEY ARE TOO FREAKIN LONG!!!! Game length does not equal game quality.
The PS1 version of this game looks so good, but this looks so generic and uninspired. Why did that have to give it these awful graphics? Why not just translate the original title and add a tutorial? Very disappointing looking game.
Many people seem to not like Chibi style that much, but Japan players are obsessed with them, or else they wouldn't make games this way. 😄 For me, it doesn't matter either way, don't love, or hate them.
Games should be reviewed as a comparison to other games in the genre not individually, because this game is crap lol no offence if you compare it to the latest ones this is a 3/10 at best. This is why independant reviews are just amatuer. For instance I bet people go mad over final fantasy 16, they say it's great 10/10 blah blah blah, but from an experienced gamer and one from previous titles, this game doesn't even come close to being a 5/10 It's more of a 4/10 at best in the genre but in it's own right a 8/10. Genre is the point of view perspective, and this is what reviewers lack these days. Everyone just wants to like a game then spit out a number in their own views, which is fine it's their prerogative and I respect their own views, but these views are still amatuer level lol.
@@zoozbuh This you mean your comment, yes I agree :) lol. Allow me to explain, if you review games individually they will all be good in their own right, but when you comare it to others in the series or genre, your in for a poor score. There is no evolution in games if you keep reviewing them individually. You need to compare them with better games of the same tyype in order to find common ground to open the door to better gaming in the future. You do know that developers do watch and read reviews on their games. If every reviewer said their games 10/10 do you honestly think they will do better in the sequels or other games they make? Challenging them to do better is what causes evolution in games.
