This is a good setup. I have done setups similar to this but with a little variation: 1. I would use an ATEM HD for a setup like this as my cameras are SDI and the computer(s) are HDMI. I have no scaling issues as I set my laptops to match the ATEM's input. 2. I tend to use Blackmagic SDI to HDMI converters and utilize the SDI loop out. So the run will be SDI to the first screen, the loop out goes to the second screen and the HDMI out goes to the screen. Depending on the layout you may need to add a confidence monitor for the presenter. 3. I find Playoutbee an excellent tool for managing media files.

Thanks for the video. I use HDMI fibre (50m and 100m) and so far I have only good experiences with it. With SDI I run into problems frequently (format, resolution, cable quality...). One more alternative would be HDMI extenders via network cables. HDB-T or others. Some projectors or screens have direct HDB-T inputs, more often you have to convert.

You’re a great teacher Zephan! 💥 You’re a Mac guy, right? How come u rarely mention Ecamm? It eliminates a lot of hardware, like extra computers just to play videos and stills. Virtual interview mode instead of separate Zoom computers etc. Is it too software based? Thanks for gr8 content!

I prefer to rely on hardware over software. One operating system update that runs automatically or one little software update could break everything. There’s a time and place for everything. Zoom ISO replaces multiple zoom computers.

I’ve used the brand Orei on Amazon quite a bit. They’re maybe $25-40 depending on if you get a 1 to 2 or 1 to 4.

@@zephanmoses thanks a bunch I'll try it and confirm if it works with my setup. Sidenote: There are so many small/minor issues that occur with streaming that would be great if you did a vid on them. Also my favourite types of vid from you are the ones where you do a bts whilst on site and show us your setup for that event and then glimpses of you streaming that day. I go back and forth watching for ages, if you can please do a couple more thanks

@@OsumareMedia love that feedback! Sometimes it’s tough to do a long form behind the scenes since we’re working and don’t want to interrupt our time that the client is paying for but I will do what I can when possible! I also think it would be great to do more videos on troubleshooting. I think that what many beginners view as problems I tend to overlook since I know how to fix or solve most of them. I need to pay more attention to what pops up.

Hi thanks for your video. Quite informative. I have a question, i have atem mini pro n use it for live streaming. Recently i have found need for showing double screens at the events am at. Am thinking of getting atem mini extreme iso. But Recently there has been release of sdi models. Should i go for hdmi or sdi models?

The SDI extreme has four outputs which is ideal. One for a multiview monitor, two for screens and a fourth for a confidence monitor.

Moses you don't need 2 computers for this set up, because the video and photo will be play in sequence not simultaneously, unless the pictures needs to be play in random order, (witch is odd, people normally have a sequence in their program). Keep in mind that one computer can display video with audio, photos and mp3 music for the waiting time in the beginning. This can be done with Power Point or Libre Office impress. On one slide you have a photo and on the next slide you can have video with audio and so on. In this setting there is a very important missing factor, distance. I will ask the guy to give me the measurements of the room. By knowing the distance between the cameras and the video switch I can determining if HDMI platform is feasible. On the request he mention a camera and you drawn 2 cameras next to each other, if he is having one camera, the best location is in angle from the front podium either on the left wall or the right wall. If that the case I will put the table with the switcher next to the camera, that way eliminating the desimators converters, and running the signal with HDMI, and changing the switcher to HDMI type. Because almost all cameras have HDMI output. And HDMI cables are easy to find. Another thing, you suggest the 2 cameras next to each other, basically having the same video angle twice. I will set one camera straight in from of the podium and the second camera at angle on the left or right wall from the podium. That way you have 2 video angles. And the second camera can be use to take the audience.

Thanks for your comment. This was a very basic diagram and as mentioned in the video, I discussed cable runs and where SDI will be important as well as I mentioned that a site survey would still be required. There are too many unknown variables that would alter the setup from the original question. But I believe I covered the bases. It’s still up to the person streaming to determine what setup will work best for them. But I would not trust one single computer for video, audio and photos. I would not use PowerPoint for that - it does not offer the same level of control that may be needed in a professional setting.

@@IglesiaPentecostalElArca it doesn’t allow as much flexibility. When clients provide video files last minute and we don’t have time to edit them but need to start the video later in the video or end it early you can’t do that in PowerPoint. There’s simply not enough video features doing it that way.
