Hey Luma, it's sad that your anonas aren't fruiting for you. They look great and seem to be flourishing in your climate. I'm wondering if or what kind of fertilizer you're using for these trees. I would use an entire bag of sun-treated steer or chicken manure at the base of one tree. I would use one bag right before spring around February and then another sun -treated bag about 5-6 months later. If they're in containers maybe you can replace some of the potted soil with the sun-treated manure every 2 months. You can get these ~25lbs bags at lowes or home depot for like 1-3$. I'm sure you've read or watched all the hand pollinating techniques, but it seems better to pollinate the females in the early morning or at night when moisture levels at their highest. You also might want to try cross pollinating by procuring another variety like Gefner or better yet graft different variety scions onto your mature tree. Hope this helps

wow im surprised the soursop has survived. i heard they can even succumb in south florida to the could because of their evergreen behavior. in south florida, soursops are notorious for dropping their leaves during the cold, but due to their evergreen behavior, they keep trying to grow back with new buds until there are no buds left and the tree dies.

Harry I’ve been growing it in a pot for 4 years and bring it in the garage when we get cold snaps during the winter.

@@gardenofluma9697 i heard that people here in the bay area use something to protect the fruits from the cold(also zone 9b). i dont know if it works but its worth a shot! we dont actually protet the tree, just the fruit itself.

Harry I try to get it in when temps start dipping below 40. As the tree has gotten larger I’ve been less diligent about it but the tree does get beat up when left out if temps get into 30s.

Hello luma, I just bought a nice size sour sop tree, I transplant it to a different pit, little bigger than the original. I have a really big pot I want it to grow in eventually. Just any advise on starting off. I love your channel, you have beautiful Annona trees. Thank you. I am in Phoenix area I should mention.

Joseph Wang I water the container trees daily on a drip system throughout the summer here. In ground every 3 days on bubbler system on Summer. I use fish emulsion and liquid seaweed once per month. I top with rabbit manure/compost a few times per year.

How are your anonas doing now, a few years after this video as they've gotten some more age? I live in your same general area and I love cherimoyas, but I haven't seen a lot of good examples of them actually fruiting.

I have a couple S.A.'s also(around 3yrs old). The fruit on mine have done the same thing last year and this one. I don't think its the climate, per se. I'm in Miami. Perhaps the age?
