Women always represent chaos. Even Lesbians always say that Women need drama. It's also associated with Hysteria & .... You can look through the Mass Hysteria cases. Nature is always associated with women across the cultures & languages. Some cultures do use Father Land, but more commonly people say Mother Land. However, don't forget that even he admits everyone is wrong sometimes, along with the admission of his own ego and narcissistic tendencies when he was younger in life. Other than that, context is always important. So, the statement "I'm not against things" should be tied to the context of the interview and the line of questioning. As for the subservience.. that's a bit more difficult for me to expound upon.. yes, and no? Lol, it does, but there's a reason for it. (Hunter/gatherer, birth giver/provider) I believe his exclamation is more metaphor than a direct example.

Anyone who thought trying to trap JBP in a "gotcha trap" was a good idea after the famous Channel 4 interview with Kathy Newman needs to examine their life choices. And this interviewer is so infuriating to listen to. Her soft, simpering little-girl voice acts as a cover for the verbal traps she tries to lay. "But, Jordan, please listen and take responsibility while I try to tell you how you are a bad person..."

The thing is Jordan Peterson is so gracious about these questions too. It’s not like he’s planning on the interviewer trying to back him into the corner. He approaches every question like an educator which is what he was at the university of Toronto for decades. A journalists linguistic trickery doesn’t work on him and you can’t make him assume your arguments are in bad faith because he answers all the questions with the same approach.

I have seen so many of these types of interviews and most end up exactly like this when the person being interviewed doesn't check the ideological boxes of the interviewer. What you see usually a is a concrete perception of what the interviewer believes and thinks of the person being interviewed play out in a series of questions either designed to attack them directly, or phrased in ways that attempts to make the "accusations" seem factual and make the person being interviewed have to either spend the interview defending themselves or fumble the responses and make that accusations seem valid. What we see here is a perfect example. She was unprepared, had not read any of the material she was describing and asking about (in her own words) instead of his, and had a preconceived motive and an opinion about the interviewee and their work. The hard part in this being such a pervasive interview form is that it works many times. Unless you get a person that is well spoken, well thought out, and pushes back consistently and can reverse the assault. In this case, she should have played it straight. Her credibility as a professional was badly dented.

Taoism isn't about "order and chaos". Yang (the light pole) represents the active or creative, whereas yin (the dark pole) is the passive or receptive. Order is when the two are in harmony, chaos when there are out of harmony.

Concerning the Bible, this simplistic negative interpretation is exactly what happens when you literally judge an entire book solely by its cover or, in this case, by a single passage or by only one of the many "commandments" provided by the book in some of its passages. In other words, the interpretation ends up having a size, range and depth as tiny, limited and overly simplistic as the small fraction of the book that it's derived from.

"what of my writings, give specific examples, are YOU offended or upset by, and let's start there". because anyone who uses some esoteric "they" or "women" have this feeling, you can't combat that. and as the journalist doing the interviewing, it is your responsibility to be prepared, do the research, come up with specific talking points you intend to focus in on and cultivate to fester the thesis of your piece

Dao is pronounced like How. The Conception of masculine and feminine is better understood as the relationship between the active and contemplative. the soft and hard skills if you will, that every single person can embody. The feminine for example, the chaos so to speak, is the lynchpin in the creative process, not just for human beings but for the concept of say, evolution broadly. Inner and outer evolution. It would be a much better world if we taught our children, as well as current adults, to embody all of these traits. To be adaptive, resilient and caring. To be strong yet nurturing, to be firm yet supple, to be able to embody and channel your emotions without letting them control you.

Jordan Peterson's interpretations of bible passages are interesting as he refuses to take them at face value when it suits his argument. But any good theist must twist and turn passages to make them sound less wacky. The apologist stock in trade is to claim that a literal interpretation of the bible is wrong, some of the time, that it takes a sensible reading to determine which passages must be interpreted. But everyone who takes this approach thinks their interpretation is the only one that is valid. Frankly, I've always been surprised that a man of his intellect would be a theist, but there it is.

Truth makes people mad. Women tend to be more emotional. Not all women, but most. Because there are men who are emotional. But, if you let emotions rule you, you will have chaos. The same is if logic is taken to far is also chaos. Like Jordan said, there is a fine line between them, a balance. Why do so many so called educated women, have problem with understanding a book or teaching that shows we need balance, and that society is out of balance.

I'm an atheist and typically agree with him but part ways when it comes to biblical interpretation. At the same time, the interviewer is pretty ridiculous in that she is blatantly viewing the world through the lens of feminist thought. Please don't confuse heterodoxy thinking and atheism with feminist activism. Feminist activism has more in common with religion than atheism. You're correct, the Bible was radical for its time and progressive. Thanks for the post!
