I am new to your channel. I subscribed to you after the Live Shave with Tobin. I am catching up on some of your videos. I am about 1 year into wet shaving and I love it. I went the budget route for razors, but I did spend the money on the Rockwell T2 and 6c razors, which I absolutely love. I was blessed with the fact that I won the Lambda Athena from one of David's giveaways at OhioShaves. I was eyeing up prior to that the Henson Al13, but if the Lambda is its equal counterpart, then I might stop there because I do love the Lambda. It suits me fine for daily shaving rotations with the Rockwells and I get BBS after 3 passes. I look forward to watching more of your videos😊👊

Great! I moved away from mild razors and blades early on and went on the search for efficiency. I have sensitive skin and I've found the least amount of passes works best for me and sharp and smooth blades are a must. The razor must be pretty efficient too or otherwise it just becomes a nicknack on the shelf. I'm glad that you did a review on these razors, because I think we somewhat similar likes in razors and also you cut through all of the fluff that people can get caught up in. Nice work! It’s easy to get distracted with all the extras sometimes. I agree with you a more efficient razor definitely reduces the skin irritation and I think most people believe it to be the other way around. Thanks for watching Ian!

thank you for your participation in the Pass Around. I wish you could have had the razor longer. The blade you used is not a great combination with this razor, especially if you only do a 2 pass shave. A 3 pass shave would have produced a different result. Or a 2 pass shave with a much sharper blade. Again thanks.

You told me to use the Gillette silver blue blade because it was one I was familiar with. Well it was fun even though the results didn’t make even happy. Thanks for allowing me to participate in the razor pass around

Nice shave Matthew. There are only so many variables you can bring on the table. I am glad you used your go to blade to best assess the razor. As a viewer, it offers a fantastic perception of the instrument. While blade experimentation is fine but sometimes you have to just stop and identify a go to and perhaps 1-2 back up contenders. If the razor works well with those, you have a keeper, else, what better way would it be to consolidate the den ;).

Nice SOTD, Matthew. I have been using the Henson AL13++ medium aggression and find it to do a great job efficency-wise. It does take finding the right razor/blade combo to determine if the razor works for you.

There is no shaving tool in the world that gives you a smooth, stubble-free shave the way you do. With the technique you used, neither a shaver, nor a straight razor, nor R 41 will shave you without leaving stubble. There's nothing easier than achieving a perfect BBS with Athena without irritating your skin, as long as you know how to do it, or maybe you don't want to steam it...

G'day Mathew. Im Bob 59y from Adelaide Australia 🇦🇺 really like your shaving vids l have come across today . I'm at my 8th DE shave as alway been a gillette mach3 man, untill l seen the light. DE shaving is the go... I use a Rockwell T2 its great and smooth. What would be your everyday razor.

Maybe by being honest with your experience you can save others from making a fairly expensive mistake. I have some razors that are too mild and others that are too aggressive. But I have found that ones face can change and adapt as time goes by, and what seemed too much initially can be just right eventually. And of course like you say it's the razor plus blade combination that can make the difference. Also having the ability to tweak the efficiency like I can with my PAA Ascension Twist is another consideration.

You are right, sometimes we may love or dislike an item but with time we may begin to adapt to it or begin to like it more with use. I prefer that instantaneous match. Thanks for watching Chris!

I found mild razors for me equal razor burn and efficient razors equal bbs. I have one non adjustable that is my goat and that’s the timeless .95 with open and scalloped base and the rest are adjustable’s. When I have used mild razors trying different blades I get razor burn.
