Nice video. I really like my prismatic too. It’s very smooth and efficient. As for the soap, I saw the ck6 but other than that I have no idea what it could be. Btw have you ever tried Talent shave soaps? I stumbled upon them on Etsy but I really like their shave soaps. They’re vegan. I don’t represent them. I just really like their scents. Particularly Galaxy Grape. It smells just like grape bubblegum. Keep up the good videos. : )
Nice shave! I think that side label ck6 is the base from the polish soap company full o crapski. Excellent soap base made from the freshest sheep fertilizer in the valleys of southern Poland.
I think most of "our women" likely fall into that group of "tough to please with fragrance" but I also think most people outside of our community and the Fragrance community fall into that group. Great shave brother!
That totally worked on me. I even paused the video a few times hoping to catch an angle to discern the secret soap. I gotta say I'm quite curious about the prismatic and the meta 4. Where do they fall in efficiency ? are they closer to the gamechanger 68 or the gamechanger 84 ?
@@saguarosmart4100 for me it’s closer to the gamechanger 68 razor. I’ll be doing a full video on this soap and splash when the release is near. Thanks for watching!
Nice one! I've got the Meta 4, but I do want to pick up the Prismatic too. I think that it might be a little more efficient than the stainless steel model and closer to what the Kirby was like. Well, I guess I'll find out about the soap coming up. I agree, I think a pre-launch promotion always helps and for some, they can put some cash aside if things are tight, then can pick up the soap when it's released. A month ahead would probably be good with a shout out the week it's released. I'm not a marketing guru, but that is what would work best for me. Have a great one!
@@lastshadow9351 I would love to get my hands on a Kirby razor. I think you will enjoy this scent. I’m not sure when it will drop but I will be doing a revealing video when authorized. Thanks for watching Ian!
DE safety/wet shaver for almost 10 years. I prefer 3 piece shavers to the butterfly shavers. Getting ready for work I use Barbasol original canned shaving cream with my DE safety razor. Weekends I make my own lather with artisan soap pucks. In my locker at work I keep that 4 pack of Barbasol 2 bladed razors along with a small can of Barbasol cream. If I hit snooze on my alarm clock I will hurry up and shower at home and shave at work in our locker room with my cheap Barbasol gear 😅 👍
Very impressive. You didn't say but it appears this straight razor shave wasn't your first rodeo. Also, did you do the sharpening and honing? And how long have you been straight razor shaving? You definitely made the shave look easy.
@@BartBuzz I’ve been straight razor shaving off and on for around 3 years now. I have a few other videos in my straight razor playlist 😃. Yes I did the sharpening and honing. It turned out nice compared to how bad of shape it was in before. Thanks for watching Bart!
Nice! Great soap and splash scent and perfect for the carnival! Nice German straight, but I don't know much about it. A lot of these manufactures made razors for companies all over the world, but I'm sure someone watching might know something. If the scales look pretty straight, my guess would be when it was repaired one of the pins was peened with the razor out of position. Because there are only two pins holding the razor together, it can be a little tricky to have everything centered when you're peening it together and the blade is off-centered. I've used this to my advantage putting a razor together that had warped scales, so it would close without hitting the sides. You look like you've been straight shaving for a bit, because you've got a pretty smooth technique. Have a great one!
@@lastshadow9351 i really like this scent, it’s too bad I didn’t get any cotton candy at the fair. I really wanted to remove the scales when I cleaned it and polished it but the pin in the blade wouldn’t budge. So I decided not to remove it and possibly break the scales. Thanks for watching Ian!
@@carlangstrom3025 since the razor was basically a butter knife I started with the 1k stone. Then I switched over to the 8k. Last a finishing stone and then a leather strop. Thanks for watching Carl!
Straight razor isn’t only a little more difficult on the phone, I am not brave enough to put a straight blade on my face😳. Looks like you’ve got it down decently though! I can’t agree more with whatever works for you. I find it funny that people will complain about the things that don’t work for them in their shave, but they keep doing it cuz that’s what they’ve seen or been told to do. This should all be simple enough….if it works, keep doing it,but if it doesn’t work well for you, time to try something different. After all, doing things repeatedly and expecting a different result……isn’t that the definition of insanity? 😂🤦🏻♂️
@@Lee-deadphishaves you are totally right, give something a try and if it doesn’t work, make adjustments or go back to what you know. That’s part of the fun, chasing that dream shave. Thanks for watching Lee!
@@goteampatrick with the way my stubble grows, I never go against the grain. It does appear that way in a couple places. The trickiest part on across the grain is just the initial start. Once it cuts through the stubble and is on the skin it’s good. It’s like a break through too quick or hard will have a chance to cut the skin unintentionally. Thanks for watching Patrick!
@@seanstapelfeld in the video it did seem more pronounced than in real life. I have 1 other vintage razor I’m going to do but all of my other razors are Dovo or gold dollars. Thanks for watching Sean!
Hi Matthew very nice shave with the straight!😊 I found two companies from Solingen, Solingen is a City in Germany and has many Knifes Manufacturers. Maybe the most in the whole world 😊. One is the Carl Schmidt Sohn AG the other is the Carl Schrick Sohn both from Solingen! I send you the whole list in messenger if I can Matthew then you can search 😅😅😅 Have a nice rest of the Sunday and week 🤗
@@RobertsClassicShave I thought the logo on the scales would be a great identification. I was thinking they may not belong to the blade, so who knows. Thanks for watching Robert!
If all that existed were straight razors I'd have a full beard. I'm capable of cutting myself with a safety razor let alone one of those lethal weapons, lol. 🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸
@@chrislj2890 as the old saying goes “a dull knife is more dangerous than a sharp one”. I feel this applies in shaving. Sharp is less pressure and cuts the stubble effortlessly. Thanks for watching chris!
Hi Matthew. Yeah I agree it's all about what works for you. Can I ask. You said you put an edge on the razor. What stone progression did you use. Have a good one
@@borbelyhaz321 this can be a rabbit hole all on its own, with many different ideas and theories. I started off with a 1k because it was in rough shape. Then I switched over to the 8k and a finishing stone, then leather strop. Thanks for watching borbely!
Guten Abend Matthew my friend 🇺🇸 Hope you are doing fine and that seems to be 1 fine (well PAA) pomade 😉👍🏻. Have a nice Sunday 👋🏻 Greetings from Germany Christian
Nice! A great collaboration! I haven'y been using a pomade for awhile now, but I might have to pick some up and give it a go. It looks like it's a nice and dry one without that stickiness that some have. It's a scent I love, so that's a bonus! Have a great weekend!
@@RobertsClassicShave hair gel is less pricey but involves a extra step to blow dry it. This stuff (for me) still holds after being in the rain whereas gel falls.
Trying new things sounds like a good idea in my opinion Matthew! I enjoy the shaving but the main reason I watch is because I enjoy the way you communicate with us! Cheers
