Good Video Matt. I purchased the same one that Tobin purchased, which was a closed comb version (gun metal black) and for a $10 razor, it wasn't bad in my opinion. The blade was fine in mine in terms of sitting in it. Now maybe I was one of the lucky ones . At that price there is more room for problems than let's say a bit more expensive razor because you are paying for better material and hopefully better craftsmanship and machining. Even expensive razors may have issues, BUT, as you made us aware, you're not getting good customer service for that low price you pay and that is where a razor like that is not worth the budget price. 👊🙂

Buyer beware, thanks for the report ... I have a few budget razors but they can be a bit hit & miss, I always suggest to newbies to stick to well known brands in the lower price range like Merkur, EJ, Muhle, Parker, Pearl or even Baili.🤠

I once bought a merkur progress new mould that had blade misalignments all over the place, all thanks to amazon I was able to return it to the vendor.

Thanks for sharing! It may be odd, but I've rarely bought any shave stuff off of Amazon and I'm positive I've never bought a razor. The only cheap razors I've tried have been vintage ones I've got off eBay and I've always been wary of modern cheap ones as they've looked like junk. I would try a modern plastic one for sure, but metal ones concern me for just the problem you had. Amazon and eBay are pretty good with returns and haven't had any issues. The only shave stuff I've had an issue with in a long time was a soap & splash with little to no scent and their solution was to give me a free soap of an upcoming release. That isn't a solution to me and I can guarantee I won't buy from them ever again. I'll bend over backwards to solve a customer problem or to make things right, but I'd never do something that could possibly create a whole new issue. Customer service isn't rocket science and if you can't solve a problem, you just refund their money and apologize for the issue and inconvenience. People are more than understanding and probably give you another chance, but if you do something illogical or stupid, you've burned that customer, they will tell everybody and anybody about it, and they'll never buy from you again. Have a good one!

I've had problems with $40 razors and with $400 razors. The difference comes down to post purchase service. I appreciate you sharing this 👌

I did tey the dollar store razor when i first started and thru it in the trash after two bloody shaves with it. Hopefully you can return it. Have a great week

Sad quality control was that bad. I just purchased a 3 piece razor made in china heavy, ok quality gave me phenomenal shave for $5.00 purchased the same razor for my son, this time it had a coupon and got it for$4.20. His will be here tomorrow. I don’t think they will last but I just needed them to ship up north for a vacation shave. Sorry you had such a bad purchase. Thanks for the info.

Be glad you never got to use it I just checked the reviews on it I a picture of a blade loaded up on the open comb it gave the willy,s dude it's blade and run a merkur futur on 6 for 3 passes

I wonder if you could fiddle in a half DE blade? Probably run into the same issue. I have a Pearl "The Sleek" that is pretty bad. It won't clamp just a half DE blade. I had to modify a whole blade just to get the clamping correct. It was $17 so not really worth it to ship it back or hassle Maggards since it's Pearls issue.

WHOMP WHOMP WAAA, Fail. I have a couple budget razors, a Weishi and a Vikings Blade Cheiftan. I thought they were both decent razors. My vote for best budget razor would be the Pearl Semi Slant. It shaves great and at just under $20 is a great value for the money

You might be on to something. You could go right down the Amazon razor offerings and buy, review, & return weekly a razor. That should keep you busy for a while 😜yuk yuk
