Thanks for the review. wasn't aware of this one. On my third Athlon. Have a Argos GenII BTR 8-34X56 I'm using in a 223, had a 6-24X56 Helos That I traded in on a Argos GenII BTR 10-40X56 SFP which is much like this one. Much better at shooting 1" targets at 300yds.
this scope is going to help a ton of people get into f class and longer range benchrest and be competitive.. i shoot f class and have a March high master so i have no problems at all but i also have a trij ten mile and im wasnt impressed.. its not horrible but not very good either.. on a hazy day give it up i dont even get it out of the truck.. but the March i have no issues at all in any condition at all i have ever used it in and we shoot rain sleet snow it doesnt matter.. i have been hearing good things about the Athlon so excited to try one.. it looks GREAT on here at least... id love to be able to have nice high power scopes on some of my other guns i just cant afford to put March, Nightforce or anything like that on anything else.. id sell the ten mile if i thought i could get even 3/4 my money back its almost brand new cause it just never gets used because when i have a March to choose from as well i always pick that gun lol.. i have a few arkens that are really nice for the money also just really heavy
I.have a etr 30 x ffp. What I'd like for u to do is shoot 100 yards on 60 x and also 20 x to see if a sfp scope holds a zero at 100 on any power ..thanks good job
I don't have the need or the $ for a fancy scope, but I just got a Athlon Argo HMR. It's head and shoulders better than another scope I have that cost almost exactly the same.
Very good! Impressive process. Looks like a nice scope. I have been running Leupold, Burris & Redfield mainly since the 80s. Other than a few Japanese Bushnell & Nikon, I have only purchased U.S.A. scopes. Where are these Atholon scopes made? I see quite a # of them on the RU-vidrs I watch. Good stuff. Thank you.
Any plans on testing tracking beyond 30moa? It seems most scopes, even budget optics dont really start showing deviations till you get above 5mil, with more pronounced shifts at 10mil+ (34.5moa).
Pretty difficult to test tracking out to 30 moa without error in the test. I don't have the capability to accurately test to that extent. I will shoot this rifle out to 1k and that will require nearly 30 moa of travel and will report how it compares to expected drop.
@@RobsReloading There are targets that can be purchased, or you can make your own. I made my own, but it was a bit labor intensive. Buying them would be the easiest option. Thanks for the video. Did you chamber the barrel?
@@SuperJlarge yes I chambered the barrel. The issue isn't the target the issue is having everything in perfect alignment exactly 100yds away. I don't have the tools or set up to do that.
@@RobsReloadingGood deal. I hadn’t seen the other vids, but you’ll love having the lathe. It’s so much faster to just spin up what you want vs having to wait on someone or risking having a bad prefit (rare, but it happens).
