Cool vid man... I just installed the same stock on my 870 seems very sturdy. I did have to use a rotary tool to grind a little notch so it would sit flat, but that's only because I had a mesa tactical shot holder already installed on my gun. And that's the only thing that kept it from sitting flush.
I do. Please let me be clear that this is a home defense setup. I store it with the stock open, because I prefer a full stock. I rarely travel, or range with it. It stays relatively accessable in my bedroom. I put maybe 25-50 shells through it per year, just to make sure it functions. For what I use it for it is has been good.
Sorry, kept forgetting to check. If you are right handed the slide relrease is a button right where your thumb lays. You o have ot move your hand from the firing position, but it is a slight movement. The slide release IS NOT covered by the grip.
I agree with everything you are saying. The recoil is tough with 00. Overall I would recommmend this item if a folding stock with a PG is your thing though.
I do not know from personal experiance, however, after looking at the pictures and reading the description I dont think so. The item is side mounted on the reciever which should not affect the over the top folding nature of the stock. Again, i have never combined the two, but based on my experiance with the stock, a reciever mounted side saddle should NOT affect the over the top folding of the stock, which is one of the reasons I got this model as opposed to a side folder.
So being that you have had this stock for almost a year now, do you still like it? Im considering it for my maverick 88 security model since my safety it on the trigger guard
Thanks for the reply, all I really plan on is using it for home defense too, I like the folding option for corners and tight hallways in my house if I ever decide to try trap or skeet I would change it back to the original stock
Design flaw. Without pressure it does not stay flush with the top of the heat guard. After having it for a while that is one of my two major gripes with it. I do consider it aesthetics only though, as it does not hinder the function of the product in any meaningful way in my opinion.
It must be because they made it to fit 870's too....my circa 2004 one had maybe 1/4 inch gap. That even annoyed me. They now have a 1+ inch gap.....FAIL.
Good Job on the review! I have one on my Maverick and like it very much. The inly thing is kinda hard on the recoil of 00's . But not a problem with the Fiocci low recoil ammo.
Please be more specific. If you have a better product, for a reasonable price I want to hear about it. Also, if there are specific defects I also want to know about it. I already pointed out a couple cons...
Hell yes gonna slap one on my maverick! Add a side saddle heat shield and red dot with a custom stipling grip job should look pretty dam sweet and functional! Good video!
I just recently purchased a Mossberg 500. The version I purchased has a front site and a rear adjustable site (which is one thing I really liked about it). The rear site sites 7/8 of an inch to 1 inch high on the shotgun. It also came with a fixed stock but I would like to put this folding stock on it. My question is is their enough room when folded that the rear site does not interfere with stock when folded?
Nathan Gee it will clear it... I have the same set up... it looks cool as shit, but if you shoot a lot with it shouldered and not from the hip...I'd honestly suggest a tactical. It's built well and looks great though
would you happen to know if the TacStar SideSaddle Shotshell Ammunition Carrier 12 Gauge 6-Round Mossi 500 model will work along with this ATI folding stock? if there is a problem, it may be when the stock is folded up.
Good question! I have the monstrum side saddle screwed into my Mossberg Roadblocker 500. If this stock is compatible with the side saddle attached then WHOA NELLY lol!
Yes, I do. Overall I like the functionality of it. Is it perfect? No. There are two complaints with it. One, is the placement of the safety. The second is that like the previous comment observed it does not stay perfectly flush with the top of the heat guard.
