I agree, two weeks will be my fifth show at Penn State, first show 12/9/23 in Baltimore. I have seen him in Nashville, and Kentucky since Baltimore. I’m in the cult for sure.

Love me some billy mf strangs. But people in comments acting like he invented something new. Bands like yonder mountain (ymsb) greensky bluegrass and rumpke mountain boys have been playing this progressive bluegrass for 20 years. Adam Aijala and Dave Bruzza have been doing this blend of strumming, flat picking and fingerstyle bluegrass for years. Doc watson brought the guitar to the forefront of bluegrass with this style that allowed the guitar to keep pace with mandolin banjo and fiddle and these kids are taking it to new heights blending the grateful dead style pschedelic jam and bluegrass solos. Its fun and amazing to watch. More fun to see the progression its taken over the years from doc to tony rice to adam aijala to billy and all the other fantastic musicians between them that pushed the envelope and moved the genre forward. I dont even want to get started on mandolin and banjo work through the years. Jeeeesh.
I would say Billy has the sweetest charisma in bluegrass music, a great and warm voice, a loud and fast flat picking, and the most beautiful nose ! And found the perfect right band Just my humble french female opinion !
Yes but he is from Michigan like me....Bob Seger, Kid Rock, Eminem, Jack White....I think the last three of that list should get him in a room and welcome into the Michigan clan!
