Yang won. He aced the few questions he got and overcame a complete blackout from the moderators. He took a ridiculous question of "What would be the first thing you say on a call with Putin" made it funny and then substantive.
He doesn't support medicare for all and that 1k a month is going to destroy our current social services for the most vulnerable of our citizens.. That's not helping.
Klobechar talked over people, spoke out of turn, and ran on over time, as did Harris. It did them no good. I'm glad Bernie didn't do that. These moderators were crap about giving equal time to candidates.
@Orphan Annie please enlighten us. How exactly is she making a fool of herself? Its the network with the highest ratings and most viewers. I dont see you bashing Bernie or Kamala for going on fox.. Heres the thing. Tulsi, according to polls has the most indepedent support out of every candidate. Independents are the largest voting block. If anyone is a fool is warren for not going on fox at all. Tulsi is going to win in the general because she doesnt spit on the right. She treats them like human beings and introduces them to progressive ideologies. Just like Bernie. Also how is she not picking off candidates? Kamala went from 14% to 1 % thx to Tulsi. You should be kissing her ass unless your a Kamala voter lol.
@Orphan Annie yes an dems are only like 10% .. vast majority is indepedent. And independents mostly watch fox news.... sorry to tell you.. if you want to change hearts and minds you have to reach across the aisle. You cant call them deplorables. Hilary tried that and it failed. You say the GOP is nearly dead yet they are the ones who win all the state and local elections and basically run teh country. Notice how we keep going farther and farther to the right with each president. Its teh reason we have Trump. No the democratic party is broke. And its why they were purchased by Hilary Clinton.. and its why an indepedent like Bernie has mroe money then the entire democratic party combined.
@Orphan Annie On another note.. you dont think cnn and msnbc are the enemy of the american people? They are straight up pro war propoganda at every turn. They are anti progressive, anti medicare for all.. never tell the full story or all the facts.. only ask.. how you going to pay for it? instead of realizing medicare for all is about 4 trillion cheaper the obamacare...
@Orphan Annie fun fact her white in hair is from stress during the war and permanent. Real classy of you to talk shit about someone seeing death first hand.
@Orphan Annie You think CNN and msnbc care? lol.... your naive. Places like cnn are way worse then fox because with fox you know they are rediculous, but with cnn they are selling you right wing talking poitns making beleive they are left wing... And again fox has the most viewers. Only an idiot would say no to taking away Trumps base that won him the election.
It's almost hard to say who would get to sit in spot 4, don't you think? That being said, we desperately need to start culling, because there's just too many people who have no real business being up there.
Bernie won, largely because people are not trusting Warren, the more Biden talks, the farther he falls, and Buttigieg seems way over-medicated when he's on stage and goes into one rambling story after another. These debates are showing the garbage that they are, and I'll stick with Bernie, no matter what.
Saturday Night Live did a hilarious skit of this debate. They equally made fun of everyone and they were spot on as deep as if they were watching political criticisms of kyle kulinski, jimmy dore, and mike at humanist report.
It is 2019. Healthcare is a HUMAN RIGHT 🔥🔥🔥🔥 we are the richest country on this planet and yet we are the only developed nation that doesn’t have universal healthcare, doesn’t make sense to me.
Bernie had some of the strongest answers for foreign policy and climate change by far. Especially the comment about fuel industry's being held liable for having evidence of climate change and doing nothing about it.
TyT, please help Bernie become a better debater by being a little more critical of him. Krystal Ball made a great point yesterday saying that Bernie needs to realize the difference between a stump speech and a debate. In a stump speech, you are preaching to the converted, while in a debate you need to win the argument in order to convert the undecided. Bernie's "Gloves on" approach is allowing the corporate media to drive the narrative. Primaries are about momentum, so if Bernie waits too long to fight, it may end up being too late.
@@herbbluntman2287 So the question is, how does the Progressive community collectively make this point to Sanders? I think we need to flood his campaign team with this message. David Sirota, Nina Turner and other surrogates actually do a better job conveying Bernie's message than Bernie himself, so they need to apply a lot more pressure.
@@davesaenz3732 Why would you think that if I'm watching The Young Turks? Are you stupid? SNL does a lot of political satire, and satire reflects societal views. There is a reason Tulsi is polling so low. People just don't like her. She is a war hawk. Haven't we had enough of that?
@@Rabbitsarewonderful The SNL debate skit was hilarious, but calling Tulsi a war hawk is just an ill-researched oversimplification. Tulsi's foreign policy views are much more nuanced than that.
Such a waste of time, you're right. At least foreign policy got a bit more time this time around. They need to spend more time on campaign finance reform and direct ballot initiatives.
I literally said to a friend that the media tries to paint Bernie as “the Leftist Trump” then 10 mins later this question comes up. I was like “See?! What did I just say?!”
Dillyn We should start a go fund me, so that we can have progressives moderate a debate. The DNC won’t do it, but we the people can make it happen. Can you imagine having Krystall Ball, Kim Inversin, Ana Kasparian, Kyle Kulinski, or David Pakman modérate one of these debates?
Wait Cory Booker is still in the race...who knew... (Don't answer that, I'm merely pointing to how he's been so quiet lately that you could be forgiven for thinking that he had dropped out already, the same can be said for a number of the candidates)
I pay $600 a month to insure my wife and I. That doesn't include co-pays deductibles and what insurance doesn't cover. I'm okay with paying a little bit of taxes if I can have free medical. Cuz in the long run I'll be saving money. I will have way better coverage. No co-pays no deductible it's a win-win for the American people Medicare for all. I know for a fact my taxes won't go up no $600 a month
Medicare has co-pays and deductibles unless one has supplemental insurance and still some things are partially covered. My dad still had to pay $2,500 for hearing aids and more than $10,000 to replace 8 teeth this year even though he had Medicare, supplemental insurance and dental insurance. If everything gets paid, then it's not Medicare.
I would agree, if I didn’t think she’s doing more good where she is than she likely could as his VP. Would be a great ticket... and the corporate fucks would all be wearing their brown pants, lol.
His healthcare plan blows and that $1000 a month is going to fck up the lives of our most vulnerable citizens with current assistance, like housing, because they're going to drop everything else in place of the 1000.
A month ago it would've been Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, but after the blowback for sucking up to Warren, just a little bit too much, the damage contol resulting in the Bernie endorsement and the Yang Gang becoming increasingly noticable amongst his subs, there's only one way for him to go. Keep the customers satisfied. Cenk's a businessman and lawyer, with everything it entails. There's no business like show business.
Pretty sure they don't care for Yang that much. It's not like the majority of their videos have many dislikes at all, and even the more contentious ones that piss off a lot of (reactionary) people, the dislike ratio is seldom anything drastic. In any case, they really don't need to go out of their way to pander to whatever number of Andrew Yang fans watch TYT and say that he won. Even if they said Yang lost, there would be a bump in dislikes, but not by much. I know this because I regularly watch Majority Report and Michael Brooks, and they have no problem attacking Andrew Yang. And I don't think a lot of these channels are fretting over how many dislikes certain videos get, you know? Basically, I guess I'm saying yours is a ridiculous point to make for numerous reasons. So, if TYT says Andrew Yang won the debate (alongside Bernie), I figure it's their sincere opinion and that Yang supporters should be happy about that. Or perhaps not.
Yangs knowledge base and policy platform is more equipped to handle the digital battlefield of today and tomorrow, domestic or foreign. Yang's policies push America in the direction where we all socioeconomically evolve with the integration of automation. Bernie's policies stagnate automation and creativity while also pushing humanity to the side as automation flourishes in every other developed country but ours.
@@Prague3203 You said Yang and foreign policy LMAO; the guy sounds like a random person off the street when he answers foreign policy questions - he has no clue at all. Medicare4All (the real one not what flip-flop Yang says)>>>>>UBI; Tuition free college>>>>UBI; Medicare4All + Tuition free college>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>UBI......Not the worse candidate if you believe he wont flip-flop when he gets in office, regardless Bernie is a much better candidate IMO
@@wizardwonderYang has so many good ideas. I really love his UBI idea. I dont think a wealth tax will do well because it's too easy to just move your money somewhere else. UBI puts the money in the hands of the American people, which circulates through the economy and creates a trickle up economy. He proposes democracy dollars as an alternative to Citizens United. That would help get everyone more engaged in elections and give even the poorest some influence. He wants to restructure the way we measure American success away from GDP and toward things like health and happiness. And with healthcare, he supports Medicare for all as opt in, which will go over better with all the anti-socialist people. Also he focuses less on Trump, which I think is important for the next election. We know the people who like Trump do not want to be wrong. But maybe if we back off a bit, some may come around. Especially for an extra $1000 a month. I think he is right about the new technological revolution. We should be prepared.
@@BoogieDownProduction Do you know what a Firestorm level of hacking is? Do you understand the impact of an AI beating the world champions at the game of GO means? The threat of AI is a threat greater than any nuclear arms race and we are losing to China right now. As for his M4A plan, what hes proposing is what has already proven successful in every developed country it's been implemented in. You've got zero ground to bash him on that. Bernie's Bill is the one that doesnt exist anywhere and has only been tried in 1 place, his own state and it was disastrous. Bernie idiots thinking that it would do better on a national level is pure insanity and shows clear lack of economic foresight. As for the tuition free college. Idk how to put this to you, what's the point of getting higher education classes that end up going nowhere because Bernie hasnt reeled in and focused the education system to produce students that prepare them for the 21st century economy? What's the point of getting a higher education when machines and AI are aimed at the very jobs these colleges are teaching for? Again, lack of economic foresight. It's funny you think Yang has flip-flopped, he's been saying the same thing he has been since the beginning, even before he was put on the Map by Joe Rogan. You would know that if you got out of your bernie echo chambers
I'm worried about Biden. Also, if we are worried about who can beat Trump, there's no way he can do that with all those gaffs and blank stares from him while he attempts to process the world around him with Windows 95.
@Sebastian Thor What has he done to deserve it? Win a coin toss for which white guy was going to help Obama get the white vote by quelling their fear of blacks?
I met Joe Biden at a rally one time. He smiled as he firmly shook my hand, then he leaned in, pulled me close, and whispered in my ear "Epstein didn't kill himself."
I agree but I think Bernie needs to wait until December or January to take them down. The media would clean Pete Biden and Warren up by February if Bernie would have taken them down last night
Climate change is going to make us all sick. It is the most urgent issue. But I get why health care is vital. As an allergist it pained me to hear that people with diabetes need epipens. People with diabetes need insulin. People with a history of anaphylaxis and food allergies need epipens. Both are horrifically overpriced.
Jamal K. I don’t drink lattes. I can’t take the bus. I just had a hip replacement and will probably need another so I cannot take the bus. I am also a physician and work ten hour days and I cannot be late. I gave up meat which decreases my carbon footprint. I have a Prius. What have you done? If you’re not worried, you should be.
Why is TYT so against “Tulsi?” Mr. C. Said Tulsi brought up the Mexico statement by Pete but did not say, initially put forward by Tulsi. Why? But TYT supports Progressive, Correct? Or, depends who Progressives it is?
@@raechelwolf5738 They gave her a full interview on their channel, on their website. They showed it live and the day after and it is there if you want to go watch it now (first week is free or something, so for free even). They disagree with her because she has hawkish tendencies on some issues, which makes sense given her background. It is not that they outright hate her, but she is down the list on being a progressive.
@@terryldooley8721 Tulsi is conservative on some issues and liberal on some issues. She does not fit cleanly into a defined party box. She also does not fit TYT's criteria for being a progressive, but does anyone besides Bernie meet that standard at this point?
I don’t think Bernie was as strong as his last debate, but he was alright. I love that he pointed out things no one else was pointing. I think Yang did great as well, along with Tulsi calling Pete out which was great. Biden didn’t fall so I don’t think he’s moving so I mean I guess that’s good for him? Otherwise everyone else was kinda flat.
Yeah Bernie needs to take the groves off and knock everyone out. We know it's not his style to but he believes there is a class war he has to willing to do what ever it takes to win, even if that means attacking/exposing fellow democrats (even though they aren't our allies) If he's willing to go after republicans and trump and has to be even more willing to expose that democrats too are impeding the country from progressing with their incrementalism and corporatism/corruption. If he can't do that then what is the point of is campaign.
Nice avoidance of Tulsi's obvious stellar performance against incredible bias. The "set-up" was against her. Per usual Tulsi stood out, devastatingly so, among the rest.
@@bruceniblett959 I'm not a Tulsi supporter but I agree with you on this. Ana Kasparian wouldnt know what bias looked like if she experienced it firsthand.
They do the same thing to Bernie. Corporate media bias at its finest. These "debates" are a joke. We need an independent media debate, asking real issue questions, giving enough time for real answers. Plus, if the candidate lies, they should be called out on it. I don't see many candidates actually going for that, though.
@@YouCanNOTvoteOutFascism At least Bernie is big enough so they can't flat out ignore him. I mean the debate format really limits some of your suggestions but in principle you're totally right. I think it would help if the democratic party really pressured media companies to do a better job or else really give it to smaller media companies cooperating to get it done.
@@anthonydeanda5122 Kamala can't attack Pete, her history as a prosecutor is what has capped her support in her own community. The pot calling the kettle Black. I'd only ever vote for her if she is going against Trump.
@N S Idk about all that. I see her as Black as anyone else; I don't speak for all Black people but I do believe most agree with that. However many simply believe her actions betrayed her community.
Kindly help Tulsi in the polls too.. she's doing all the dirty work for Bernie Snaders, not to forget she literally left her chair for him and has been paying for it since
I mentioned on a video about the impeachment hearings that Biden should drop out if he cares about the party, to avoid the controversy surrounding his son and corruption, but he should also drop out to save the embarrassment he's doing to himself (by standing on a stage and showing the world you're brain is not fully functional).
I was thinking the same thing about Biden with the sons sketchy behavior - like Biden could take the fall because while Trump committed an impeachable offense, Biden’s son was unethical in getting involved in that business. Getting Rid of Biden would give the Dems the moral authority to a greater degree
They are lucky if they have leave at all. And with their salaries, they really can't afford to have leaves from work. Many have to work more than one job to just pay essentials and normal living. That's what I have heard.
@@wizardwonder Take the time to know the facts. You are either lazy or dumb. He is for medicare for all, but is not okay with banning medicare healthcare just like every other country that offers healthcare to their people. Aida thank you for asking that question because I really feel we are still not listening to the only candidate who is trying answer the questions that will help us to come out of the situation we are currently in for our community as a whole. Consistency, stability through all the crazy, experience, unity for ALL. Sen Sanders. Green New Deal Climate change, medicare for all , economic equality. The others have wavered and been inconsistent. We have a major divide, we don't want identity politics to be the reason the best candidate is ignored.
Your critique of some of the candidates' "bad political choices" (ie, BooTheJudge and ClawButcher) expose the fact that only a few candidates on the stage are actually speaking to the populace in these debates. In reality, they are making their case for the donors and power-brokers that have kept them in the race so far ("stapled diplomas" and "medicare for the willing" plays great with them). A 3-horse race (Biden/Warren/Sanders) is scary AF to that class of people.
He has great potential ... yet Sanders is THE person who can both beat trump and halt w the public's help alter our democracy and earth destroying systems.

Maybe frustration more than anything. It is becoming more apparent that it does not mater if republicans or democrats are in power the political environment is just toxic. I guess it seem most people have a few core beliefs that binds them to a party. But if we were to boil it down I think we the people have more in common than not.
when asked about what he would do for families who can't afford day care as it can cost up to $8500 a month in atlanta, he correctly frames the issue that early childhood development is critical. i thought he was leading towards universal preschool or something similar. then he pivots to how ubi will be able to help a family like his in dealing with autism. this was his chance to talk about healthcare and what he would do for those families with mental health issues. he had his chance to address it and he didn't.
Cenk, FYI: If Biden's claim of being endorsed by the first female Afro-American Senator is correct, he was endorsed by Carol Mosley Braun, who was the first female Afro-American Senator. Mosley Braun was elected in 1992 and represented Illinois for only one term, from 1993 through 1999. At the time she was elected, she was the second Afro-American elected to the Senate since Reconstruction (Republican Edward Brookes of Massachusetts being the first), but was the only Afro-American serving in the Senate during her term in office. She also was the first woman ever to beat an incumbant U.S. Senator in an election, the first woman to be elected as Senator from Illinois, and she was the first woman to serve on the Senate Finance Commitee, which is arguably the most powerful Senate Committee. While Mosley Braun was extremely liberal on social issues and was decidedly more liberal on social issues than most other Senators (she voted against Clinton's "welfare reform" act, she was solidly pro-choice and voted against the ban on partial-birth abortions and restrictions against abortions on military bases, she voted against the death penalty and for gun control, and she voted against DOMA, etc.), she was, for the most part, a conservative Democrat on economic issues. She was defeated by a Republican in her run for re-election in 1999, after which she served as ambassador to New Zealand until the end of the Clinton presidency. Carol Mosley Braun probably is no longer remembered by anyone except people who live in or lived in Illinois because she WAS just a one term Senator who, despite her liberal VOTING record on social issues, had an undistinguished and remarkably unmemorable career in the Senate. So it's not surprising that you didn't even know she existed. But she WAS a first in many ways, and she should be remembered as such. Even Kamala Harris, I think, has never claimed she was the first female Afro-Americans senator.
