I APPROVE OF THIS!! ALL OF THIS!! OMG YES!!! ALL OF THIS!!!! Those C40LFs ran like champs when they were new. Those buses still run like kings today! And those Grummans had me finished!! I never thought they would pack Detroits in them! Thanks for sharing!
R.I.P 2001-2017 (LAREDO GARAGE) 2018-2034 (PERRY BLVD GARAGE) 2035-2050 (HAMILITON BLVD GARAGE) THESE WERE THE (D40LF) & HOW THEY WERE DIVIDED BETWEEN THE 3 BUS GARAGES. I absoulety loved this film, but I didn't see any of them in action. Blockout musta had them on other routes that day. AWWWW!
I miss the old Atlanta down town under ground use to be lit.. Back in the early 90's we get out of school and go downtown get a bite to eat and pull girls that's when life was fun 😏😏😏
WOW, is all I can say. That brings back so many memories for me when I was a bus operator for MARTA and driving in the heart of downtown ATL (Five Points). I don't miss those 3100's 32's, 33's and 3400's series busses tho. I do miss the old 2000 series (D40LF)& 2700, 2800 series fleet of the C40LF. I thought I saw my ole girl 2812 a (Perry Blvd Garage) bus in the film. Although it caught fire a time or two, it still ran like a scalded dog! R.I.P 2001-2050 (D40LF) and 2701-2818 (C40LF) G.B.N.F!
Ahh this take me back to the good times. GO MARTA GO. I hate they sold them to Samson Trailways Company in Hapeville. I miss the Flixible Metro and the old New Flyers. I Trailways do a parade for them every now and then. NOw in the present MARTA is a piece of crap.
Gregory Lowe It really varied from year after year once I started riding MARTA on my own at age 15. As far as I remember units 3135-3194, 3311-3370 and 3371-3410 were Laredo till some changes were made in the beginning of 2000. Then units 3187-3194 and 3311-3355 moved to Perry to join the current Perry Flxibles at the time which were units 3195-3230. In 2001 the when the 2000-01 C40LFs came brand new to Laredo that's when the rest of the 3356-3370 units (the last of the 6V92 Metros) moved to Perry and then most of the Flxibles at Perry like units 3195-3230 and some of the 3300s either retired or when to Hamilton Garage. Only a few of the 3300s like 3341-3355 stayed at Perry. In 2002 more of the Metros started retiring from MARTA leaving some of the 3100s at Laredo and a few select 3100s and remaining 3200s at Hamilton till retirement. While at Perry Metros units 3341-3370 became more identifying on which their schedules and routes like units 3341-3345 and 3361-3370 still had Ps (short for Perry) at to the rear, but units 3346-3360 had Hs (short for Hamilton) at their rear and although they had the H labels they still ran on Perry routes yet would sometimes run on Hamilton routes too. Now the very last 6V92 Metro unit 3370 had a P label and ran out of Perry for only a short period of time I spotted it many times on Laredo Routes as it ran with Cummins L10 Flxibles units 3371-3410 till end of 2002.
Also last few Flxibles I saw running in service before they all retired in late '02 and early '03 were units 3177, 3356, 3363, 3370 of the 6V92 and most of the L10 3300s. The Flxibles are definitely missed and RIP to all of them except 3360
Jaleel Richards Me too I hated it when I was stuck with just the L10 units on the east side of town. Don’t get me wrong I liked them but the 6V92 are Motown engines and they had more soul too
2700 were all first to retired in 2010 they were being replaced with the 2500s and but not least 2101-2160 and 2800-3002 all ended in late 2014 we're also being replaced for the 2013 XN40s 1401-1440 and 1601-1688
