ATLAS How to build a BASE - blacksmiths (Starter base)
welcome to the blacksmiths. I was going for an authentic look for this place with an open forge area plenty of wooden framing. I had some stone foundations left from my last build and I didn't want the forge sat on wood.
There is a kitchen, a lot of storage areas and beds in the roof, I think this place would make a good little starter base but I know aesthetics don't mean much when you are trying not to get raided early on but it looks cool, it goes well with the setting.

Hey Aaron thanks a lot :) The fence foundations are a bit different from Ark I like the way you can select the angle, the whole building system is really good

@@ThePilgrimzProject I agree I had a play around with the building mechanics as you know I love adding pillars on all my builds so needless to say the first thing I worked out was how to snap pillars haha the building has tonnes of potential

@@AaronLongstaff Yeah I like to flip the walls and that always left gaps so the pillars came in really handy and I like the builds to look supported as well. You are right It's got potential, I think having all the variants on just a few structures was a great idea saves room in the inventory and on the bar. look forward to seeing what you come up with in this game and the new S+ update should hit console soon. Hey Thanks :) I have just joined my server up into a cluster with a bunch of other youtuber's I am going to be building all over the map, just working on my home fort I have a lot of ideas. Also going to be building some big npc controlled bases that other companies are going to have to lay siege to and take over to find loot inside, so looking forward to that :)

Built my own version of this on the DarksideRP Atlas server recently and got lots of compliments. Thank you for all the great work you put into making the building and makIng the video! And thanks for helping a guy like me who didnt know how to build well learn from one of the greats! Let me know if u want a screen shot!

i dunno what i did but the pillar trick still works after i place all the pillars then break the fence foundation 2-3 of the pillars are still there allowing me to continue the build

@@ThePilgrimzProject It was, only had bit of trouble with the tower top section, due to you spinning round so fast and in first person view. but other than that was very easy. Whats your next build for atlas gonna be?

@@millsy25084606 cool I wanted that tower roof to hang over. I am just building with the new S+ beta stuff for Ark for a video. Next, on Atlas, I am looking at making a full port maybe something you can dock galleons at so it's gonna be a big project :)

Addendum: At 8:34, removing the fence foundation/support, will collapse all the pillars placed before that. Looks like a game mechanic changed since this video was made. There is a workaround. Skip placing the fence support at 7:59 and then stand right in front of where you want to place the pillar. It won't snap, but you should be able to place it exactly where it is placed in the video. Only thing is that they are then about a quarter wall (half of a half wall) too short, but still look good. And remember that you have a grappling hook for those out of reach places ;)

Did they take out the wood stairs from the wooden roof menu? I was trying to drop stairs on the front of my house, and I couldn’t find a stair option, nor could I even attach the roof to a foundation. By the way, this is a great build, Pilgrim! You and Aaron are my FAVORITE game build designers!

Really sucks they removed the ability to 1) place pillars on corners and 2) removed the workaround to do it with the fence post method. I swear these devs just have no clue.

hopefully, by the end of the year Atlas will be on Xbox. There is the huge S+ update for Ark to play with until then :)
