Some people are waiting for another avengers or next season of game of thrones. F that. Only thing on the net that I wait for, is that bison hunting vid :D

I've learned that with the shorter shaft is it doesn't detach right away so for the first couple jumps the deer makes it bounces up down and slices the wound channel more , this is from experience on deer and pigs.

Very interesting project to investigate the reuse of a point. I watch a lot of knapping videos but you're the only one I know who takes it to the ultimate archaeological level of using the points in actual hunting. Thanks for sharing.

That's a bigger point than you typically hunt with, correct? I'll check out the Patreon page.

Their is definitely a trade off with hardwood shafts versus cane. Pro’s and con’s. I build bows/arrows, not atlatls but I truly do enjoy shooting and building cane arrows. Hardwood shafts seem like more work even though they drive the shaft deeper, in most cases, and are more durable. I couldn’t imagine straightening a 6-8 foot hardwood atlatl shaft and maintaining my patience. Cane is a breeze to straighten. Then of course you have to build a fore-shaft, again - in most cases. I make my cane arrows transition from cane to fore-shaft as smooth as possible. But still, penetration suffers due to friction on the sinew wrapping. Cane is easy to work, but requires components if you want it to remain robust. Hardwoods are durable and plentiful throughout North America, but straightening can be time consuming as well as the sizing process. Great topic, had me thinking there for a bit. Cheers! -Aaron

When you have time and if it is of interest to you, could you do a video on traps? I can get a trapping license for furbearers where I live and would be very interested in doing it the old fashioned way

Awesome video ryan. Will the clovis project and all the other projects be uploaded?

yup that is the game plan. We kicked the clovis project down the road a little because it is such a big piece. it will take us over a year to work on that whole thing and we don't want to rush it. Planning on dooing some of these other ones in the meantime.
