I think i commented already on a Gnav Video of yours, but right now, i’m struggeling with Performance. I passed Met and Gnav entirely with those high quallity Videos, that you are producing. And i’m sure, with this help i will be postive on Performance too. I really appreciate your time and work that you put in these videos. Keep up the good work 🤙🏼👍🏼
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I guess the TODA on your summary is incorrect, at least for the rwy 09, it should not include the stopway. While it seems correct for rwy 27
The arrows are a bit unclear; they are not measurement arrows, they are direction arrows. You should read them as you explained in your guess. For rwy 09 the take-off distance available starts at the threshold and ends at the other threshold, and does not include the stopway (which is provided to increase rwy 27 ASDA). For rwy 27 the take-off distance does include the stopway, because a clearway has been established (which is a sensible airport construction feature when you already have the stopway in place). Hmm, I get curious now. Do the runway itself has to have 75 m on either side, or can it sometimes (theoretically) be cheaper to extend a narrow runway, than to level the surroundings?
The other reply by Robert has basically nailed it. The distances are not correct for rwy09: they only apply for rwy27, I probably should have made that clearer.
@Robert You've nailed it with the TODA. Runways generally max out at about 50m wide so they wouldn't extend out 75m either side of the centre line if that's what you are curious about. An airport may be designed with the cost of levelling the surroundings in mind, this is why we see a lot of coastal airports in the world, you don't need to pay to level the sea...
