Hearing kratos quiver when he sees himself on the mural is gut wrenching, the man will finally feel what it is to be worshiped as a god for good, even the tone of his voice as he speaks is so much more at peace even after saying goodbye to his son, I still prefer 2018 but that moment was gorgeous man
I have never cried with a video game as much as I cried with this ending. I lost my dad 10 years ago this month to prostate cancer and he was my best friend. We did everything together like Atreus and Kratos. Having played every GoW. Seeing Kratos go from such a vengeful and angry person to a kind and compassionate one has been some of the greatest development I’ve ever seen. Seeing him breakdown here was just perfect. He fully redeemed himself.
Completing this game was my way of saying goodbye to my father. His wife, my step mother, abused me for years and he never intervened, I left at 16 and never looked back. I had forgiven him years ago but told him I’d no longer want a relationship, I did not hate him or want pain but I’d longer be in his life…little did I know that would be our last conversation..my father passed away last month, I never got to say good bye and my step-mother buried him before I could head home. My father loved this game..I’d wake up when I was young at early early morning and find him playing god of war..so this is my goodbye, never got to truly see him at the end, it was so sudden, but this is my way of saying goodbye father..
Far away in the rubble of a mountain, a lone goddess looks into her fire and sees that the last members of her family are going to be okay before she fades
@@TheCrioGenModifier Hestya. Goddess of home and family. She is among those we don't see killed by Kratos or corrupted by the evils from the box. I like to think that she would not be corrupted and look over her nephew as he gets his second chance at fatherhood.
It was for Brok!! 🤩 Not only that, but even though Brok blessed it, technically the Spear is Kratos's not his! The Draupnir Spear is symbolic of Kratos's change to being a heroic god (a spear symbolizes courage, decisiveness and aggression -- three tactics fitting of a former Spartan general AND the exact traits Kratos needed to cement his 180 in life) and it's ALSO the first weapon that was OFFICIALLY Kratos's very own! (Blades of Chaos were Ares's, the Leviathan Axe was Laufey's). Plus it needed his blood to be created The Spear is Kratos's new signature weapon!
Mate too be honest this had me crying. Not just Atreus leaving but Kratos seeing his own mural after everything he did in the last GOW games. Dude got the redemption he deserves.
@@noctober sadly, This is the final game in the Norse Saga. So hopefully, maybe the next God of War game introduces Egyptian Mythology or Celtic Mythology
@@noctober yeah I don't see him becoming a villian. There's still a part of brok's soul out there. My Guess is that sindri's gonna look for it. Not to bring him back to life, but to finally let him rest and have an after life.
Am Im the only one thats wants an older Atreus Game something like Riden’s Metal gear revengense . Like a Antreus in his prime saving all the Giants through the realms.
im playing this game im so sadly couse the ending of god of war ragnarok so good ending and the ending is the best ending ever i never seeen this ending so good for me and my grampa was died on 30 years ago an my gremma died 2 years ago and this game make me remember my grampa and my gramma
I wish that, for the next god of war game kratos would end up in ancient Egypt and fight the gods there and when kratos is in the brink of death, loki or atreus comes back and saves him and he will help kratos throughout his journey in Egypt to kill the gods there for some shit they have done wrong to kratos, only IF they create another one.
wait bro can someone please tell me what happens to Ingrid. I don't see it on Atreus. Ingrid in the mythology is the only sword that can rival and survive Surtr's sword. This is how the weapons are ranked; Surtr's blade > Ingrid > Mjolnir > Gungnir > Hofund. I wanted Atreus to have the sword so bad. Please tell me he has it with him.
Freyr used it to defend everyone against Surtr’s blade, sacrificing himself in the process. While it could’ve been destroyed, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was cast to another realm, similar to the remnants of Asgard falling into other realms
@@daedaelicious1 Now that makes sense, because again in the mythology the sword > Mjolnir and is somewhat equal or relative to the sword of Surtr so it should survive but, in the mythology, Freyr was prophesied to die by the hands of Surtr anyways. The sword is too good to go to waste ngl.
How is he depressed? He's happy for his son, who has grown up and changed his own views for the better, he embraces friendship and trusts others, he sees that he did all of this for the selfless act of saving those he loves and cares for. He's controlled his rage and matured, as we all hopefully do in our later years. I think this is very well done character development and shows that vulnerability is okay for men to express.
