@@Drakith90 you are correct, the way the Nagant worked, the cylinder moved forward, which placed its odd cartridge (the case walls extended all the way up the bullet) at the mouth of the chamber so when the pistol was fired, the cartridge case expanded and sealed the action so all the gas went down the barrel. Originally it was to give the puny 7.62 cartridge a little more oomph but it does mean a suppressor works on a nagant. Unfortunately, it also made the trigger pull atrocious. Additionally, the nagant was a solid frame, gate loading revolver, like a Colt SAA, I don’t know if anyone tried to gas seal a swing out cylinder. I think there was a similar revolver made by Pieter, I know his revolving carbine was in BF1 and I THINK it was a swing-out, but I’m unsure.
Using a gamma cell for a optic-sized battery is actually a really cool idea. Micro fusion cells aren't as micro as an optic would require. Also, the holosight you made have me an idea for a raider optic, with the battery being housed in a spare rifle shell.
These are so clean and exciting! *Huge pop for the Jakobs sight!* Loving the Western Revovler Grips. Now Pigs on board too!? Just _Chefs Kiss_ Brilliant job all round 👌
This mod pack is awesome! I can't wait for it. I just want to say two things that I think it should be adjusted: 1. The revolver recoil compensate barrel (aka. the Rhino berrel) is a little bit too thin. If we compare it to the real Rhino revolver the barrel is very thick so I think the revolver barrel in the mod could be thicker as well. 2. Now that we are getting a 12ga rechamber for the "Ak" it would make sense if the rifle's barrel to be thicker as well when we do the rechamber to 12ga. I don't know if it's possible to change the barrel when you change the magazine but it would be a neat detail to add.
@@keegany4r176 not really a big deal as all you would need is a short and long barrel .... any other muzzle / barrel attachments with the exception of bayonets and maybe suppressors would be redundant for a CQB shotgun imho.
Yeah, would make the most sense if the 12ga rechamber is done within the barrel section rather than in the magazine one. But not sure if there is a clean way to introduce that in the CK though.
If you’re gonna have a shotgun rechamber for the handmade ak, you should also have a shotgun barrel attachment with a proportional bore size, cause there’s no way that barrel can fire a shotgun shell
@@ShadowKain666 sorry, I should have said chamber. Even .410 wouldn’t fit in that, since the stock Handmade AK chambers 7.62. No shotgun round that I know of is made that would fit a .30 caliber chamber. Sure, you might be able to fit it with a .45 cal barrel and have it fire .410, but I think Dak’s going for a Saiga, which afaik is only in 12 gauge. Maybe 16 or even 20 is possible, but even 20 gauge is .62 caliber
@@Thebluebridgetroll Fair. Though most rechambering in FO4 requires a little suspension of disbelief, which I'm fine with. Dak's idea shakes out alright in my opinion, as the Saiga actually comes in 12, 20 and 410. Barrel swaps would be neat for people like you and me but I'm okay with not worrying about the barrel for gameplay's sake (especially since none of the other weapons worry about this and Dak's stated goal is a degree of standardization/unification between the firearms). A purely visual barrel adjustment would be a neat little touch though, I think.
@@ShadowKain666 I had no idea it came in .410! Yeah a visual adjustment would be perfect, it didn’t occur to me that was an option. I just thought a barrel mod would be the easiest way to do that
@@Thebluebridgetroll They're a bit on the obscure side. Mostly because there is just no real practical application for having a 410 Saiga over a 12, or a different shotgun altogether. For any defensive purpose, you're better off with something other than an autoloader, not to mention that 410, while nothing to sneeze at, is still a downgrade when it comes to that purpose. For hunting, again - no real reason to go with an autoloader over a more conventional pump, you won't be hunting anything much bigger than rabbit or pheasant with 410 and as far as varmint hunting goes, using 410 shells is a bit pricey. Same goes for using it for skeet or plinking. The price point makes it impractical. So, you mostly find collectors and hobbyists with it if you see it at all. It'd make a good trainer for a youngster to eventually move up to higher gauges though. Was lucky enough to get to shoot one. Buddy of mine is a bit of an AK fanatic and when he found out he could have "the rifle version of a judge with a 30 round drum" he "had to have one" lol. It's a fine shooter, and to my surprise it fed (and slung) slugs like a champ. Very reliable. (Which on a Fallout note would fit right in with theme and gameplay, IMO)
great content here! It's crazy to see how far you have come with first just making reviews and then next thing I know you are making mods! Not only that you are making really good mods and some even WITH some of the creators of mods you have been a fan of and have reviewed in the past! Keep up the good work Dak!
You need a foregrip for the AK, there seems to be free animations for that. The only thing really lacking from your pack. The other mod who do the same as yours have had some really interesting stuff. I would also think about another laser sight like the one from BullpupHandmade by Pig, and an reflex sight like the one from Metro Exodus would also be neat, an uncapsuled one.
This pack looks incredible, thank you to you and pig so much for your hard work on these! They look fantastic, definitely looking forward to the full release :D
Your my favorite mod author. You found a way of making mods that both are unique yet feel so like they are meant to be in the game! Keep up the good work
This is so cool, i love what you've done so far, i wouldn't change a thing. Great job, i thought everything was done really well. don't work to hard and stay safe.
This is why your my favorite fallout 4 content creator on RU-vid iv wanted a weapon mod that just adds lore friendly modifications to weapons there is only one other that i know of thats available on xbox ik this will get ported eventually but that doesn't matter it just matters that it was made so thank you so much man iv been watching for a while i was so excited when you talked about the idea of this mod this is exactly the mod i wanted this is so awesome again thank you so much love you're content
You're doing some really great work with your mods, man. The only real criticism I would have about this mod pack is that I would have made the top rib for the recoil compensating barrel on the .44 a little thicker... But, even then, I have to say that it does look kinda cool in 3rd person the way you have it modeled... even if it does look a little thin in the weapons workbench. You became one hell of a weapons modder in a very short time.
Something you could do to help with immersion with the .44's Recoil Compensating Barrel is to remodel the hammer for that barrel specifically (shouldn't be too hard for someone with your skills) so it hits the bottom cartridge in the cylinder. Firing the gun in that configuration as it is right now would immediately make it grenade lol.
This is amazing. Been craving this mod since I first came across your channel. One thing I would like to express though, is that I very much disagree with having the muzzle options tied to barrels for the revolvers. The long barrel for the western revolver for instance looks amazing, but I would personally like to have it without the compensator. I suppose it would be fairly easy to just add that as another barrel option but I feel like that would clutter up the barrel section. ANYWAY this looks amazing, this is looking like mod of the year type shit!
I love this mod and what you do. Thanks to Fallout 4's unique aesthetic, most weapon mods feel out of place in it so I love anything classic and that further spices up what the game already has. This is incredible stuff!
It really does feel like a lot of other weapon mods will not be needed for me once this attachment pack comes out this pack is awesome there's so much.... surpassed my expectations and then some, great work Dak and Pig 👍🏾
One big frustration with Fallout's approach to receivers is that you need a really high Gun Nut perk to use a weaker ammo type. While some might consider this logical, it's not as good for gameplay purposes. I'm sincerely hoping that your receivers to have different ammo types allows you to use a lower Gun Nut perk for low level ammo types.
I'm really digging this pack, the commitment to wood furniture is awesome and having polymer furniture be high end upgrades is perfect... well for me anyway. I like the rechambers are in the mag attachments on the AK, something I hope is a constant with all the ballistic weapons that have mags. I couldn't help but notice most things having perk or double perk requirements outside of gun nut and science, I like that a lot it makes it feel more RPG like. Not to mention it helps balance parts and makes some weapons more viable mid and late game. Sneak, Commando, Rifleman, Gunslinger, Heavy Weapon maybe low levels of blacksmith or Basher for strong weapon bashing attachments and so on. Perks should be a part of any middle or high end attachment for all weapons. When it makes sense of course, I like double perk requirements for high end upgrades, but arbitrary ones would be silly... lol like I could see night person for night vision scopes but I don't know if that's super necessary if science does the job fine. You and Pig are doing a great job on this, I'm making a load order right now. Sounds like you're getting close to being done. I may have to wait to start my new game until its done... can't wait.
Duuuude, it was so weird that I was just looking for vanilla attachment packs and just watched one of your videos from like 12 days ago and then you drop this! Awesome coincidence lol. This looks freaking nice! Excellent work! Hopefully it is not heavy on the Mb 😬
I have searched the nexus for attachment mods for the revolver, I can’t wait for this pack to come out Edit: if you can, please add an option for the ak to have an automatic receiver with the dust cover
44 revolver parts looking awesome! would love to see that 44 recoil compoensating barrel but without the cut out parts like another variation (mainly because it reminds me of nv mod that added revolver with that barrel without cutouts)
I play on ps4 so I get basically no good mods but watching these videos is still enjoyable, always interesting seeing the effort people put in to improving a game they enjoy
An offset type rifle sight like what is seen on a lot of Eastern Bloc weapons would be a cool addition. Also a barrel option to further have it like the Fallout 3 version. Maybe put the rechamberings into the receiver category instead, and add a .308 option, along with a new longer barrel option to make a Semiauto Sniper Rifle, kind of like a Drag.
Hi Dak. I know this is out of the scope of this specific mod, but I was wondering if you've even noticed the glaring issue with the .44 and Western revolver in Fallout 4, and if you could fix that. if you look at the mesh of those guns, and look at the hammer, you'll see that it has an opening in the middle of it. that opening is meant to hold the firing pin, in a way that the user could detach and replace it if it is worn out. the issue is, the models don't have that firing pin, meaning that these guns shouldn't actually be able to fire. Is there a chance you could address this as well?
Great work, I always love mods that make vanilla content better. Will the forgrip you added to the revolver make it able to use rifleman perks and rifle animations? I think that would be a cool addition for that specific attachment.
Really dig the additions, great way to make the weapons more appealing. If you're able, you should add a few bits to make them similar to the Kalash and revolver in Metro Exodus, I think that'd fit lore wise and thematically
Looking great so far, Dak!! Haven't watched the full video yet as I write these words - I am paused right now @3:11 and wanted to say that I agree completel with your thoughts on the AK. The varied reveivers is such a great aspect of the handmade AK and I wish bethesda had gone this route for the vanilla weapons. After atomic annhilation, nuclear winter, and the 200+ years of brutal survival after, most weapons would not be in such pristine condition as we see in F04. Sure, they're rusty as hell but otherwise fully functional and powerful. Not sure how far along you already are with the mod, but hopefully you've got the contact information of some knowledgeable gun guys (and gals), but I wanted to suggest giving every vanilla weapon the same treatment as the handmade AK. Use it as your template (in addition to expanding the additional attachments, obviously) and bring some skeletonized weapons into the commonwealth. It always feels awkward to me to see this huge disparity between pipe weapons and traditional weapons in Fallout 4. I mean, honestly, what raider in their right mind would willingly opt for a pipe weapon when fully functional factory alternatives exist? It's not just stupid, it's completely counter-intuitive for a RAIDER. Raiders may be brutal, but that's exactly why they'd be top on the list for wanting to use the most efficient methods of murder and mayhem. I have always felt like seeing more "damaged" and stripped down versions of weapons at the low level would make much more sense in F04, and help make sense of those pipe weapons and laser muskets. If everyone is working with scavenged parts, then it would make sense why 100% custom-made, easily modifiable pipe weapons exist. It would make sense why the Minutemen would stip down and supe up a laser rifle to be cranked and super charged so that you can fire 100% of that fusion cell's power in one massive blast to put a big threat like a supermutant down easy. (This fits in with already established lore as well, with the Minutemen defense of Diamond City, it's stated in game that their muskets worked very well against the mutants, being able to be supercharged the way they can be). It would be neat, I think, to see lower level receivers be stripped down versions of their factory pristine cousins, and being able to "restore" them through workbench upgrading. It's nice if we get a bunch of attachments to fill out the high-end to bring these weapons, as you say, in line with some of the weapon mods out there. But, it's the low end that most players experience the most of. Anyway, rant over. Continuing the vid now! Hopefully this comment isn't made obsolete once I've seen the rest. xD
for laser muskets, a automatic barrel variant where you also can have a option to crank reload for 5, 10 or 15 shots would also fit, since the Overcharge shot Laser musket makes sense for a sniper like build.
1:28 - I actually like the idea of rechambering the HMAR for shotgun shell, though the inner gun-snob in me can't take the giant shells coming out of it, and the small barrel, I had to add another shotgun-shell in my mod, the 20-gauge, lol.
only thing missing for the AK imho is a proper shotgun receiver that once attached would unlock the shotgun barrels, magazines and or drums. Something along the lines of small and standard box mags with high capacity drums along with their quick detachable variants would be the way to go imho.
I realy enjoy your work, your weapons have better and less cartonish textures, whithout exploding in filesize, I realy respeckt that as a Xbox user. I basicaly downloaded everything you did that Pig imported, so I am kind of a fan. Keep up the great work bro, it is pretty cool to see how you fix fallouts weapons!
this is atleast for me the most anticipated mod for the game ever. I loved fallout 4 but i always hated the scarce of variety in terms of weapons and if almost every vanilla gun gets this treatment there finally should be more than enough to fiddle around with. as always but now the most: Awesome work, Dak! i cant wait to see this released in its full glory!
I would to see a flashlight as a muzzle attachment in your attachment pack. Especially since flashlight attachments are in Modern Tactical weapon mods and not in Lore Friendly ones. Plus it makes sense to slap a flashlight on your gun when exploring at night.
Additions to the vanilla stuff is always cool! Any thoughts about an really short Aks 74U esque barrel? A regular black polymer ak stock would also go nice with the black handguard to create a AK74M lookalike.
Hey Dak, will the lever-action rifle be able to get a really long scope? One that goes all the way down the barrel, like the Winchester Model 1894 in PUBG? Or a scope like La Longue Carabine from New Vegas?
Honestly, having some new muzzle devices for the AK would be awesome, like an AK-74 and an AKM muzzle device, and some new barrels would be sweet, like maybe an East German AK barrel, and a Romy Dong barrel. Also, adding a side-folder stock from an AKS-74U would be awesome, having two versions of that, being folded and unfolded, same with the under-folder you already have
Callum Wright the shorter barrel alone would not increase rate of fire. In the examples you provide the gas pistons are identical. The higher rate of fire comes from a larger gas port on the AK-74. And the smaller round. Shortening a barrel alone will never increase rate of fire, the only way to change rate of fire on the AK platform would be to change something in the gas system. Examples: increased/decreased gas port size, lengthen/shorten gas piston, increase/decrease recoil spring weight or increase/decrease piston weight.
In reality, the Nagant has a suppressor, but on the Nagant, the drum fits quite tightly to the barrel, which allows the use of a suppressor. So, if you "upgrade" the drum using imagination, then it will be possible to shoot from a western revolver like that.
Sweet mod! I know its an old video and you're probably not going to read it, but I have few suggestions: versions of suppressed AK barrel with infiltrator handguard and with wooden one, polymer version of marksman stock, VSS ammo rechamber (with 10, 20 and 30 capacity versions) that deals less normal damage but deals much more damage with crits/sneak crits, more retrofuturism looking Saiga mag (possibly full metal waffle), polymer full stock for .44
Here's a couple of ideas for the revolver: add engraved texture options in silver and gold and an ivory grip. And also the option to rechamber it for silver bullets, wich will an anti-undead/anti-monster bonus.
Idk if it's too hard to make because of the meshes lining up and the animations, but I think that the 44 would benefit from having a smaller receiver option. I always thought that it was too bulky and even with a short barrel it looks a bit uneven so idk if it's something to consider for the .38 receiver conversion mesh. But anyway the mod looks amazing, I love the variety and how it stays not too modern and still a bit goofy and unrealistic
I have an idea for the dust covers of the ak. You can change its shape to a more box looking dust cover resembling that of the early AK 12 prototype. It will give the rifle in the game a much simpler look yet kinda modern style imo.
Can't wait to see it in-game for myself in a while, looks great so far Dak! Do we need to start a new game when we install this? I have a feeling already spawned weapons will be broken if we don't? Cheers.
I have never looked forward to a mod in quite the same way! One thing I would request (when and if you think about touching the weapon) would be a more 'traditional' iron sight for the lever action rifle, can't stand the current iron sight on it and the only mod that removes it on nexus is incompatible with hitman's animation replacer.
i could think of 1 specific muzzle i would like added, a heavy compensator from the AK-74 to make a fallout themed AK-74 (one of my alltime favorite rifles)
I like your style with these mods. Handmade Rifle - your VSS styled suppressed barrel... heck yeah, the overall length is shorter _and_ I don't need stupid-high Perk requirements. Shotgun conversion, I can dig - justifies the high weapon weight. .44 Pistol - the Heavy Brl. allows for the badass S&W Mod. 629 profile. Two, I can go full Handgun Assassin with that suppressor. Three, _damn_ that Deathclaw Stock looks great! May I suggest a .45 cylinder, a la the Smith Mod. 625? Keeps the frame for the larger calibers, allows for a better .45 platform than the stock SMG. Thank you!
I get that the inverted revolver barrel makes recoil more manageable, and it's a brilliant idea, but I still wouldn't use it myself just because it looks incredibly bizarre.
I feel like the cheek rest should go on the western since it's supposed to be able to convert to a proper revolver sniper. That's what cheek rest are for anyways
the rifle type stock for the 44 needs diferent animations , where u hold the weapon up under the barrel ,like a rifle. nobody seems to have thought about this yet......
